(Ivy’s POV)

Well… that has been quite a day. And I honestly just want to flop on my bed after everything that happened.

By nightfall, everyone was gathered in the dining hall, the smell of roasted meat and stew filling the room. I walked in quietly, when Theo suddenly approached me.

“Selene,” he said, lowering his voice. “Have you seen Celina and Jace?”

I looked around, scanning the long table, but they weren’t there. “I don’t know,” I replied.

“Why?”

He sighed, his brows knitting together. “Don’t you think something’s weird between them? Jace has been… not himself. He won’t tell me anything. Did Celina say anything to you?”

For a moment, I thought about it. I didn’t want to be caught in the middle of what’s going on between them and I don’t think I’m in the place to divulge whatever it is that’s happening between then. So I shook my head.

“No, she hasn’t told me anything.”

Theo frowned, as if he was lost in deep thoughts. I didn’t know what else to tell him. So I stood,

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Reflection

(Selene’s POV)Cold. That was the only sensation I could feel right now. When I opened my eyes, I was standing in a forest drowned in fog, the thick mist curling around the trees. My breath came out in little clouds as the silence pressed so thick against me that even my heartbeat sounded foreign to me.I didn’t know where I was. I didn’t know how I’d gotten here. All I remember was that we were fighting… Right! We were fighting the rogues, then suddenly I was here. Where even am I? “Selene…” My eyes darted around when I heard someone call my name softly. It was a gentle voice slipping through the fog like a whisper carried on the wind. My chest tightened. Why did it sound so familiar?I spun around, my eyes traveling between the endless silhouettes of trees that stretched boundlessly in front of me. “Who’s there?” My voice echoed loudly in the mist, yet there was no response.“I said—who’s there!”Panic crawled up my throat, but my feet carried me forward, pulling me deeper into

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Inevitable War

(Ryker’s POV)Murmurs rippled through the whole room. My father’s jaw clenched, but he stayed silent, he looked at me, and I wondered why he didn’t tell me this beforehand. Is it to test me?Al at once, everyone’s eye landed on me. Like they were waiting for me to create a fit or something. And that ticked me off.I slammed my hand lightly against the table, my voice cutting through the noise. “If they’re after me, then I’ll leave. Without me here, they won’t attack. Everyone will be—”“Reckless,” Elijah’s voice slid in cutting me off. I turned sharply, gritting my teeth. “Excuse me?”He leaned back slightly, his elbows resting on the table as he placed his chin on his hand. “And where will you go? Do you think this pack will survive without an Alpha? Without one, a pack is as good as nothing. You’d leave them defenseless. Are you ready to see them perish just because you ran away from freight?”My anger flared. “And what do you suggest? That I sit here while people die because of

  • The Broken Luna Returns   The Real Target

(Ryker’s POV) The council chamber had never felt heavier than it did that night. We were waiting for my father, Elder Argus, and Elder Marcus to arrive. The silence pressed on everyone like huge boulder crushing us with its very might. Some shifted in their seats, others whispered nervously, but most just sat quietly, waiting for the meeting to begin.I leaned back in my chair, my arms crossed, and my gaze fixed on the massive double doors at the far end of the hall. Earlier, I’d seen my father, and the sight of him unsettled me. His face was deathly pale, his shoulders heavy with worry. He hadn’t even met my eyes when he told me to prepare myself for the meeting, that no matter what I might hear tonight, I was to keep my composure. That alone told me enough. Whatever this meeting was about… it had everything to do with me.At last, the doors creaked open. My father and Elder Marcus stepped inside, followed closely by Elder Argus. One look at their grim faces was enough to confirm m

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Cold Arua

(Ryker’s POV) I looked Elijah up and down. My lips curled into a scoff. “I want to see Selene,” I said firmly.I was about to pass when he stepped forward and blocked my way without hesitation. His eyes were sharp, as he spoke, his voice deep and intimidating. “She’s still resting. She shouldn’t be disturbed.” It was all he said, but from what I understand form his tone, he’s basically telling me to fuck off. I narrowed my eyes at him, my irritation rising. The arrogance in his tone made me want to shove him aside or just punch him straight in the face. But before I could say anything—“Ryker!”We all turned to the source of the voice, catching Jessica who was hurrying toward me, smiling brightly. “You’re finally awake. I’m so happy you’re okay!”For a second, her cheer eased my frustration. But then her gaze shifted to Elijah. She faltered, looked down, then kept glancing at him as if she couldn’t help herself. My jaw tightened. I knew that look. Jessica must think he was handsome

  • The Broken Luna Returns   The Savior or The Enemy?

(Ryker’s POV)The first thing I felt when I woke up was… nothing. Weirdly enough, I didn’t feel any pain at all. My eyes snapped open, and I sucked in a breath, my chest heaving like I’d been drowning.I blinked, staring at the familiar walls. I was inside my room.Slowly, I sat up, pressing a hand against my temple. My head throbbed faintly. I looked at my arms and the scratches were gone, I tugged the blanket away and inspected my lower body, and even the injuries I sustained were all healed. What the hell? With the damage I’d taken, it should have taken days for my injuries to heal.Wait…how long have I been asleep?! My gaze darted to the alarm clock on the nightstand. The date on top made my stomach lurch. Almost a week had passed!Six days. I’d been unconscious for six whole days. All the gashes, the claw marks that I remembered I have sustained during the fight were all gone now. I ran a hand down my ribs, my forearm, and my shoulder, and there were no traces, as if everythin

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Vigilante

(Ryker’s POV) The atmosphere suddenly dropped. It was like a drop of needle right now could even be heard. It was still, and I can feel that every rogue was afraid to act.My eyes were locked on Selene the whole time, then suddenly, I heard a strong gust of wind. But when I looked towards the trees, I expected it to be thrashing but it wasn’t. Was I imagining it?Suddenly, the rogues fell one by one, blood spurting out of their chest and neck. My brows furrowed. What happened? Did someone attack them?Even the rogue that was about to kill me fell right on top of me. Dead.I don’t know what happened, but when I looked down at her hands, they were all bloodied, and the staggering thing is that…she was clutching in her hands something grotesque. A heart that was freshly torn from a chest. Was it her who did it? But no…I didn’t see her move at all. How did she do it?She then tilted her head, her empty gaze swept at me, we locked eyes, and I could feel the hairs on my body standing. Th
