(Selene’s POV)

For a while, I just watched, unable to move.

He played like he was lost in another world, each note gentle but full of meaning. I didn’t know the song, but somehow, it felt familiar.

Strangely familiar…but why would it? I’m not even that invested in music.

All of a sudden, he stopped.

The sound of the violin faded into silence.

The man stood perfectly still for a moment, then slowly lowered his instrument. His head turned slightly, then sharply, toward the door, or more specifically…at me!

Oh my goddess!

My heart skipped a beat.

He saw me!

Before I could react, his footsteps moved quickly across the floor.

Panicking, I took a step back planning to dash away but it was too late. The door swung open, and in a blink, he was in front of me.

His hand shot out and grabbed my wrist firmly.

“Who are you?” His voice was deep which sent weird shivers down my s

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Incarnate

(Selene’s POV)I froze, heat rushing up my face as every pair of eyes in the hall landed on me. My heart pounded so fast that I could almost hear it echoing in my ears. The little boy clung tightly to my leg, his small hands trembling yet refusing to let go.“H–Hey,” I said softly, trying to steady my voice. “You must be mistaken. I’m not your mother.”The boy looked up at me with teary eyes that glowed like the finest emeralds. Golden curls framed his round, innocent face, and for a brief moment, he looked so heartbreakingly fragile that I hesitated to pull away.He sniffled and shook his head stubbornly. “No. You are my mother,” he said, his voice quivering yet filled with certainty. “Why are you pushing me away?”I forced a small smile and bent down to meet the boy’s gaze. “Sweetheart, listen to me,” I said softly, cupping his cheeks. “I’m really not your mother. Maybe she looks like me, but I’m not her, okay?”His lips trembled as tears welled again in his eyes. “Mother told me t

  • The Broken Luna Returns   The Mysterious Child

(Selene’s POV) I wandered through the corridors of the castle with no clear direction, my footsteps echoing softly against the marble floor. My thoughts were heavy, looping endlessly around one question. Why does it seem like Fenrir’s past is forbidden to speak of?Ever since leaving the library earlier, I had tried asking around. The guards, the attendants, even a few elves working in the garden. Each time I mentioned Fenrir’s name and asked about what happened “back then,” their faces would change instantly, their eyes go wide, lips trembling, as if I had spoken a taboo topic. Some turned away without a word, while others warned me in to never bring it up again. What was it that everyone feared?I have talked to Fenrir a couple of times and he seems to be a good elf, a bit self-absorbed and commanding, also irritating, but nonetheless, I can tell he’s a good person. The more I asked, the more it felt like there was a wall, an invisible barrier that separated Fenrir’s past from th

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Blood Artifact

(Selene’s POV) I stared at the diary in my hands, unable to believe what I was seeing. It was real.“How…?” I whispered under my breath, my voice trembling. “How did you get here?”I looked at it, tracing my fingers along its edges. “Miss Selene?”The old librarian’s voice made me flinch.I forgot she was here. “Is that… yours?” she asked softly, tilting her head in curiosity. I blinked, gripping the book tighter. “Oh, this?” I forced a small laugh, smiling playfully to hide my nerves. “No, no. I just—uh—I saw it lying around earlier and picked it up. Maybe someone lost it?”The old woman studied me for a moment, his eyes narrowing slightly as if he didn’t quite believe me. But instead of questioning further, she nodded slowly. “I see,” she said, stepping closer. “You should be careful with that one.”I frowned. “What do you mean?” Then my eyes widened. “Do you perhaps know who owned this?”“No, of course not.” She waved her hand dismissing what I said. She looked at the diar

  • The Broken Luna Returns   An Old Diary

(Selene’s POV) The air grew colder the farther I went.I don’t know how long I’ve been walking. I stopped for a moment, my hand brushing against the cold stone wall beside me.“Maybe I should go back…” I whispered to myself. My voice sounded small inside this hallow emptiness.I looked over my shoulder and I could no longer see the door I came in earlier. “Just how far is the end of this corridor?” Out of nowhere, something flickered in the distance.A small spark of light. It was faint, like a candle struggling to stay lit, but it was there, right at the end of this corridor.I swallowed the lump forming in my throat and straightened my back. “Alright, I came this far, so it would be a waste not to see this through.” I muttered to myself. “Okay—okay…just a quick look… then I’m leaving.”After what felt like forever, I finally reached the end.To my surprise, it wasn’t some hidden chamber filled with bones or a monster waiting in the dark. It was just an ordinary…well…a room.A

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Hidden Passage

(Selene’s POV)The library here is far bigger than I expected.Columns of stone lined the aisles, carved with strange patterns that shimmered faintly under the golden light of the chandeliers. The shelves stretched endlessly in every direction. It was quiet too, and well…seeing that only a few people are here so I guess there should really be no much noise here. I wonder why only a few people spend their time here. If I have access to such diverse books I’m afraid I wouldn’t be leaving here any time soon. I had come here right after lunch, hoping the silence would help me think. But the more I stared at the rows of old tomes, the heavier the air seemed to grow. Every step I took echoed faintly against the marble floor, swallowed by the stillness of the room. The grand library of the castle was known to hold knowledge from every corner of the world—about kingdoms, lost realms, magic, and ancient races. Everything one could possibly want to know existed somewhere within these shelves

  • The Broken Luna Returns   Two Souls One Gift

(Selene’s POV)“What are you—”Before I could finish, he was already looking around, his eyes glinting with amusement. He walked in leisurely, brushing his fingers over the wooden frame of the window, the books on my desk, and the soft drapes that swayed from the breeze.“Cozy,” he said casually, sitting down on the chair by the window, crossing one leg over the other like he’d been here a hundred times before. “Smells like lavender.”I stared at him, my mouth hanging slightly open. “Get out.”Fenrir looked at me with a teasing grin, clearly amused. “Why so hostile?”“Because you just barged into my room!” I snapped, crossing my arms tightly. He tilted his head a little, pretending to think about it. “Hmm. True. But in my defense, I did knock.”I glared at him. “Yeah, but it doesn’t mean you can just com inside uninvited.”He chuckled softly, resting his chin on his hand as he looked at me. “As if you’re gonna ever invite me.” He snickered. “What were you doing anyway?”“I was resti
