The CEO’S Acting Girlfriend

The moon illuminated my path as I walked down to my house, ignoring the stares and probably curses I got from people I pushed past, not even bothering to look back and give them an apology.

I had gone to see my supposed 'faithful' boyfriend, Shane without really telling him I was coming, only to see him tangled up with the woman he told me not to worry about because she was 'just a friend'.

He told me he didn't want sex from me if I didn't want to give him, he was ready to wait till we got married. He was going to be patient, but I guess humans would always be humans.

I only looked at them and walked away, I didn't scream, I didn't cry. I just walked away.

Shaking my head to clear the images of my boyfriend, no ex-boyfriend naked on the bed with another female, I continue my walk back home, maybe a drink or two before I sleep would help me get my mind off it.

The screeching sound of tyres and a loud noise made me pause in my tracks. A scream could be heard as a car flips, landing few meters away from where I stood.

I stare in horror at the man unconscious in the front seat, blood dripping from his head.

A crowd forms around him as people gather around, taking pictures and videos of the scene no one bothering to do anything.

"Somebody help him!" Someone yells in the crowd and I snapped out of my shock rushing to the car.

Pulling his car door open, I try to shake him awake.

"Wake up sir. Please wake up." I shake him continuously, when he doesn't wake i check his pulse to see if he was still alive and was a little bit happy when I saw he was. I try to unbuckle his seatbelt to let him out but it doesn't budge.

"Does anyone have a knife?" I turn around to ask the crowd but no one says anything, everyone staring at me weirdly as I tried to save a life.

"Anyone? This man is going to die" I screamed at them and someone immediately brings a knife to me cutting the buckle and carrying him out.

An ambulance arrived immediately and I enter with him following them to the hospital.

"We'd need you to fill this papers so we could start an operation on him, are you a family member?" The doctor asked me and I instantly replied.  "No, but…"

"I'm sorry then. We need a family member to fill this. Without it we can't operate on him." He says and I speak without thinking.

"I'm his girlfriend, I can fill it right? His family members are not here yet but I could fill it as his girlfriend right?" I ask him, If they don't start an operation soon I think that man would die.

I would just fill it and leave the moment someone from his family comes, they should be aware of his situation by now. He looked like a second generation rich kid so definitely someone told him.

After filling the form with details I got from his phone, I waited in front of the operation theatre while the operation happened.

The smell of antiseptic and drugs filled my nose and I instantly feel nauseated. I wanted to be anywhere but here right now. The last time I stood here was when my mom was brought here.

Soon enough an elderly man and woman along with a younger looking man rushed in. I couldn't help but notice the expensive clothing they wore, so he really was a second generation rich kid then.

"My son." The man cried out and I looked at him closely, immediately recognizing him.

It's him!

Richard Tamer, the man that killed my mother. I am immediately filled with rage by the sight of him.

If he is here that means that man is..

"Doctor is he dead?" Richard's supposed wife asked without hesitation and my eyes widen in shock at her question.

Why would she ask such a thing? Why does it sound like she wanted him to be dead? Isn't he supposed to be her son?

"Fortunately he is just in a coma. Thank God he was brought here on time before it got too late." Th doctor said with a smile and I see a frown on her face, but it was gone the moment it came.

"I have something I need to do now, please excuse me." The doctor excused himself walking away.

The woman grits her teeth and I am left confused about her reaction, but it wasn't any of my business. What the rich do does not interest me.

I look around, searching for a way to escape without them noticing me but I fail. The moment I take a step back, three pairs of eyes snapped to me pinning me to the spot.

"You! You must have done this." Richard's wife yelled at me and I shake my head taking a step back.

What is she talking about? She has it all wrong.p

"You must have tried to kill my son as a form of revenge." She accused me, storming towards me.

"No, no. It's all a misunderstanding." I try to explain but no one seemed to listen.

"I didn't-"

Wack.

My head turns to the side, my cheek stinging, a palm print obviously on my face.

A tear slides now my cheek and I remain silent.

That's how it is with all these rich people, they do whatever they want to do because they have the money to back it up.

She tried to kill her own son and she's putting the blame on the poor girl. Isn't it funny?

"You tried to kill my son and you have the nerves to deny it? I must teach you a lesson." She hissed pulling my arm as she walked down the hospital hallway, her son and husband following behind, a knowing smile on their faces.
