Sophia’s pov

I called a meeting with my media blogs… the people that I pay… and I watched them appear while I stayed in the boardroom, going through a lot of things in my head. I wanted to bring out the best way to say this so I would have the best leverage. I needed to bring Dennis down by all means necessary.

They appeared before me as I folded my arms and watched them with a smile on my face. While we were here, one of them said he had been a broadcaster for CNN before he moved to another company. Another one was a sports journalist. Another one was into lifestyle and entertainment. With the last talking about how he owned some of the best blogs in the country. I watched them brag with a smile on my face.

They all worked for the highest companies in the world and also for the gossip blogs that they owned individually. I had shares in all their gossip blogs, and I was their highest investor. That meant that they were obligated to answer me whenever I called.

I smiled, leaning back i

Alex’s povI got into the boardroom that morning to see only Paul standing by the floor-to-ceiling windows. He turned to see me as he frowned.“I heard there is a board meeting today,” I said to him as he stared at me for a while before chuckling, then removing his hands from his pockets to rub them together like the greedy fool he was.“You’re not supposed to be here Alex. You know that.”“It’s my father’s company,” i blurred out. “I can be wherever I want.”“Well, with the way you’re running it, might as well be the company of fools. Because from where I’m standing, you have single-handedly destroyed your father’s legacy.”I scoffed. “I didn’t destroy anything. I had a moment of weakness, and sure, some of the things that I have done, it might be disturbing, but I wouldn’t call it a moment of destruction or say that I’ve destroyed my father’s company. It’s still intact, it’s still growing.”He nodded while looking away from me. “You have a tendency of destroying whatever comes to yo

Alex’s pov“Look, whatever happened in the past, I apologize for it. But you can’t keep holding on to that. I’ve gone through my own fair share of shit, you know that.”He stared at me for a while, in a wordless way, shaking his head from side to side like he wasn’t believing that I was before him, saying all the shit I was saying.“You used to be a prick,” he said.I chuckled with him. “Yes, I have gotten that a lot of times from my husband.”“I’m sure he sees you as somebody who needs help.”I stared at him for a while, thinking of what to say. Before it hit me, I would just tell him the truth. I leaned forward in my seat.“Dennis has helped me understand my flaws. He has helped me see a different light to all I used to do in the past. He has helped me know that the things that I used to do, I don’t need to do them anymore. And I’ve come to realize that I’ve been the problem. I used to be the problem. I used to go out with different ladies, used to treat people however I wanted beca

Alex’s povI drove to the restaurant where Mark should be. When I got in, I saw him seated there alone, eating. It was the family restaurant… his family’s restaurant. They had been using this place to make a living for years, sometimes illegal without them knowing, but due to Mark’s association with powerful people like me, well, let’s just say we had him covered. He was out of the police radar. None of them would ever do anything to come close to this place, knowing they would be dealing with we billionaires… especially me.I was the one who kept the cops on my payroll to make sure that Mark was still indebted to me. I could remember the last time we spoke… it was when he had almost been arrested. They had found so much evidence to put him behind bars for more than twenty years, but due to my connections with the force and the media, I spun the narrative. I made him look like the hero instead of the villain, and he got off with community service. So now, he was serving that communit

Alex’s pov“Are you okay?” he asked me, as I scoffed.“Well, I’ve been kicked off the board and possibly the company. And I don’t even know what to do next, because everything is going to shit.”He shook his head. “I’m so sorry.”I stared at him for a while before slowly walking towards him to stand before him. “Dennis, why didn’t you tell me? You could have easily told me all of this a long time ago… about the blackmails that Lydia was doing to you. You could have told me this. Now my entire life has been ruined.”He looked to the floor with a sad look on his face as he took in deep breaths. He looked sorry, but that wasn’t going to fix anything for me.“I’m sorry,” he said, holding my hands in his, but I removed them.“No. Sorry isn’t going to fix this.” “So what? You’re just going to leave me out to dry?”I shrugged. “I don’t know. I have no idea what I am going to do anymore. Because of you, everything that I have is ruined. Because of you, my parents see me as a screw-up. Thank

Dennis’s povThe moment I got into the house, I slowly closed the door behind me. I leaned against it and took in deep breaths before hearing the silence in the house. The maids and butler were not home. That was good news.I needed to be on my own for a while anyway. This was all I needed. It then hit me that my mother was on her way to a full recovery. That was good news. Finally she was going to be healthy and would be able to get home.First phase of her surgery was a success. That was huge. Having to pray and wish for more success for her health was not the hard part. It was the waiting that was hard. I didn’t want to hear anything about complications. Right now she was the only family I had left. That made me think of Lydia and how she had gone ahead to run my life. How could she do this to me? I thought we had a deal.I sighed. That was something that I could not control anymore. Lydia had made sure of that herself when she had decided to fuck me over by exposing herself to th

Leticia’s pov“Mom, what’s wrong?” he said, walking to the desk as he sat before me, but I shook my head.“Alex, I have to be honest with you. This is not looking good.”He leaned back with a sad look on his face. “What… what are you talking about?”“Look… umm… you have to let Dennis go.”“No,” he shook his head. “I’m not doing that.”“L-listen to me.”“N-no mum. I’m not doing anything like that. I will never…”“Listen to me damn it!” I yelled as my roar echoed in the office. I sighed and leaned forward while clapping my hands over the desk. “This is not looking good for you. It’s not looking good for Dennis either. You either have to come straight up and let him go, or you will go down this ship with him.”“Come on, Mom,” he chuckled dryly. “I’m not doing that and you know it. You need to fix this. You can do something about this.”He was acting like a lunatic who had been on drugs but was weaning off it slowly. Maybe it was even worse. I couldn’t tell because he wasn’t really liste
