Dennis’s pov

By the time I walked out into the hall, he was waiting outside by the car. Tapping his foot like I had taken some ridiculous amount of time instead of ten minutes. He was wearing dark jeans and a white button up with rolled up sleeves because, of course he did. He looked like he belonged in a magazine.

“Finally,” he said, smirking.

I gave him a side eye glare. “Personally, I would have liked to just stay in. I don’t know why I’m doing this.”

He smiled. “I’m lucky for a lot of reasons.”

And damn him, my heart did that stupid flutter again.

He opened the door as we both got into the back and sat down as the driver took us to the place we should go to.

I looked out of the window watching city lights fly by, trying not to think hard.

“Pizza then what?” He finally spoke up.

I shrugged. “I don’t know. Back home I guess. Hope you’re not thinking of doing anything else.”

He smiled. “I’m thinking of doing a lot. But I don’t know. It doesn’t help when you’re all locked up inside.”

  • The CEO'S Contract Husband   Chapter 80

Lydia’s povI changed my clothes multiple times until I wearing my expensive outfit.I threw on my bag, shoved my phone in it, and made my way out. A taxi was waiting at the side. I got in, told the driver the address Sophia had texted me earlier, and reclined myself behind. While the drive seemed longer than it had to be, I held my breathing and calmed myself with every block we passed. The nearer we were getting to that neighborhood the more polished I could see this place was. This was the big man’s place. The sidewalks were too smooth. The tree's barks trimmed like they had been sculpted by artists. Cars that probably cost up to three times of how much my actual apartment costs home.I seriously didn’t belong here. The cab came to a stop outside some very large gates and I felt my stomach fall, the driver whistled low. “You sure this is the place?”“Y… yeah,” I muttered and got out as I paid him and the man drove off.Two huge guards came to me.“Who are you and what do you want?”

  • The CEO'S Contract Husband   Chapter 79

Lydia’s povI sat in my couch flicking through each station as I watched what was on television.I was sitting there with my legs tucked under me, staring at the glass of wine on the table that I hadn’t touched in an hour. My head was still buzzing from meeting Dennis. The way he has looked at me and talked to me like I wasn’t anything important. I hated him for that. I hated that he had seen me for less. That he could look at me and act like I was nothing. I was the one who was supposed to treat him like that and not the other way around. My phone buzzed next to me, lighting the darkness of the room. For a second I thought it might be him, maybe he was returning my call, maybe he was even apologizing, and then I remembered who we were dealing with here. But still. I could dream right?I reached to it as I saw and Unknown number.I almost ignored it, but I was curious. I swiped and put it to my ear.“Hello?”There was a silence, and then a calm, female voice said, “Is this Lydia?”I f

Alex’s povThe whole drive back home, her words were stuck in my head. They dug at me like a thorn I couldn’t take out. Sophia… Always that smug little smile like she knew me better than I did myself. The way she said it… like my whole life with Dennis was some phase. Some delusion.“I refuse to believe you are gay,” she had laughed it off, like it was some joke I told myself. The thing was, I didn’t give a crap if she believed me or not. It was that look she gave me. Like what Dennis and I had wasn’t real. How dare she? She has no idea who we were and what we did.I could feel my insides burning with anger. Right now I needed Dennis and I needed his hold and kiss. The moment we got home, I jumped out of the car before the driver could turn off the car and I rushed into the house. All I wanted to do was see him.“Dennis!”I barked out for him as soon as I entered, the sound harsher than I’d intended. The butler appeared from God knows where, giving his customary half bow before sayin

  • The CEO'S Contract Husband   Chapter 76

Alex’s povI arrived at the restaurant and got out of the car, my driver scurrying to open the door for me. The man bowed, as he always did, as if he wasn’t just a driver but some kind of footman to a king. The guards at the entrance bowed when they caught sight of me too, bodies stiff, heads dipping forward. It’s like this wherever I show up these days… people gawking at me as if I’m something not quite human.Money has a way of making people do that. Making them stupid with reverence.I walked straight through without blinking at them. Inside, waiters stiffened the second I stepped in. They whispered to each other behind their hands. A couple at the corner stopped eating and just stared. You’d think I invented electricity or something.I was twenty something with billions in my account, sure. A billionaire at my age.But to me? It didn’t feel like enough. Nothing ever did. Then I saw her.Sophia.She was seated close to the window in a relaxed way. She had a grin that made me narrow

  • The CEO'S Contract Husband   Chapter 75

Dennis’s povI entered the hotel that Lydia had sent me to visit her with the money as I grimaced at the smell from the hall. I remembered the call I had made with her after leaving the pasta restaurant. I wanted to meet her and she had sent me the address.I didn’t know why I had agreed to come meet her. No… scratch that. I knew exactly why. To end this madness. That’s why.My feet paused before the door she told me to go through, 406. I sighed and knocked on the door as I waited before hearing something break in the background, someone cuss and then a fumble in another part of the room I couldn’t see.And then the door opened and there she was. Lydia. She had on a black silk dress that has her cleavages out and barely reached her knees. Infact, if she bent down, her panties would be out.She posed in the doorframe, letting me soak her up.“Well, well,” she purred, voice low, almost mocking. “You actually came.”I didn’t say anything to her as I brushed past her and entered the roo
