Isabella's pov;

In the class,

"Can you tell me what Mr Brett said?" Evelyn inquired as I exited Mr Brett's office.

"As is customary. He advised me to do well on the upcoming open test."

"Open test? When is the exam? Did he mention any dates?"

"He said it will be on Friday."

"Whose phone is it?" Sophia inquired as I was conversing with Evelyn.

"It's coming from your bag," Evelyn stated to me as we were gazing around the room.

"What?"

I took my bag and opened it to discover the phone ringing inside. I hadn't had a phone before since it was given to me yesterday, I hadn't gotten used to the ringtone yet.

I picked up the phone and looked to see who was calling.

On the phone's display, I noticed the word 'Mom.'

I took the phone and proceeded to the class's nook to accept the call.

"I'm in my class, Mom. What is it?"

"I'm sorry, darling, is your teacher around?"

"No, mum. Ms Devlin hadn't arrived yet. What is it?"

"I will be late tonight, so don't wait for me."

"Yes, mom. Take care."
