The rest hour that passed before the end of the night, she felt the coldness in him, especially towards her; he masked it up as he interacted with the other guest and a few partners, but there was a change in him and she knew it. Cainan handed the farewell speech over to Daniel Howard, one of the top board members, and then the rest, bidding to the General manager Steve Jefferson.
He took Jasmin’s hand and quietly led her away towards the awaiting Lexus, and they both got in before the driver drove them off.
Jasmin knew this was one of his ways of shutting things away and never revisiting them. He was so fond of doing that, and she didn’t want him doing that to this as well.

Well designed that it sent her into a state of awe. She had never been to his place, so when he invited her over for dinner, she accepted without hesitation because she wanted to know where he lived and also because the invitation was long overdue. Though they started dating months ago, Cainan had never found the perfect time to bring her over because of their work and other events surfacing. As the day ended, she made her way towards the park in search of Cainan, just like she had done since they started dating. She knew he would be pleased to find out she had quit her job, he would be ecstatic, as though he was the very cause of it. Jasmin got to the park, but his car was nowhere to be found. It was weird and so unlike him to be late and she brought her phone out and saw if there was any message from him that pointed to him being absent, but there was no message from him either. She turned her phone off and slipped it into her small purse, and walked off. She should have accepted his offer for a driver when he made it over a month ago, at least that way situations like these would never happen.
