Chapter 22: Biggest Surprise of Her Life

It was a dangerous move that could make her lose her powers temporarily, or even permanently. She closed her eyes, calling to that goddess she never prayed to, in the hopes that Nat would awaken. Her chest constricted, feeling the pain of the bond that was now weakening.

Nat didn’t have long. It was either that she did it now, and face the consequences, or risk losing him forever. She thought of the times they spent together in Jave, although they hadn’t been long, they had been memorable, and her heart ached.

If not that he was a wizard, it would have all been perfect. She would have continued on having him as her exclusive gigolo, as well as her human partner, and he probably would have never discovered her true identity. But when she came to the village, everything had transformed into the darkest terror of her life.

He turned out to be an abomination, but to see him in this state hurt her more than she could fathom. All she wished was to see him fine, that it no longer mattered
