I jolted awake when I heard that there was someone knocking on the door. I opened my phone and flinched when its bright light hit me.

Who the heck would be knocking on my door at almost 12 AM in the morning? Unless...
My eyes widened in surprise as I thought of all the worst-case possibilities. No one in their right mind would knock on my door unless they were planning on mugging me.
My mom also isn’t here since she’s staying in the hospital for some assessments. What perfect timing!
