Athena looked at his face with a frown and then turned around to close the door.
"Closing the door? So eager!" Roman teased with a smirk making Athena go all red because of embarrassment.
"I didn't know the cold Roman Morin had such good humour," Athena said with a forced smile. Roman chuckled at her counter back.
"There's a lot of things people don't know about me," Roman said with a careless shrug.
"Cut the humour aside. Tell me what brings you here Mr Morin." Athena asked straight with a sweet smile plastered on her face, Roman was kinda taken aback by her straightness.
"Alright, have a seat first Ms. Carson," Roman said as his voice changed from playful to serious, making Athena frown. She wondered the reason for his sudden visit to her room. Maybe he was here to talk to her about the marriage. They were going to get married soon so it was normal for him to talk with her.
"Ok," Athena replied and took a seat beside Roman on the Sofa. Meanwhile, Roman took out some papers and handed them to her.
"I want you to sign these," Roman ordered in a cold voice like he was dealing with his business associates.
"What's this?" Celeste asked while taking those papers from his hand and opening them.
"Prenuptial Contract," Roman answered her curtly.
"Oh, ok," Athena nodded while checking the papers. Roman didn't expect such a calm reaction from her so he carefully looked at her and tried examine what was going inside her head. But her expression was natural as if she wasn't bothered by it.
"What are the general terms in this contract?" Athena asked while putting the contract aside on the table before looking at Roman. Her eyes were fixed on his face, waiting for his answer.
"We will stay married for three years. But no one outside the Morin family should know that we are married." Roman informed in a stern tone making Athena look at him with raised brows.
No one outside the Morin family should know about the marriage?
"Why? Are you afraid that people will mock you if they get to know you are marrying a maid of your house? Anyways, I don't have any problem with the contract." Athena asked with a smirk and then said the last part calmly before getting up from her seat with the contract in her hand. Her chestnut hair was casually falling on her back.
Hearing her words, Roman's face darkened. He glared at Athena with a cold expression. It was true that he didn't want people to know that he was marrying the maid of his house. It would tarnish his image and affect his business which he would never let happen.
His grandfather was forcing him to marry her but that didn't mean he would let it ruin all of his hard work. So he figured out this solution to keep this marriage and his wife hidden. His grandfather had agreed to keep this marriage hidden until he was ready but he didn't know about the contract. He would never agree to this contract.
"Yes. I don't want people to find out that my future wife is the maid of my house. So sign this." Roman clarified in an emotionless voice while getting up from his seat. He put both of his hands in his pocket and looked directly towards Athena who was busy flipping through the pages of the contract as if she would understand any of it.
As far as he remembered she was only a high school graduate and that's one of the many reasons why he could never accept her as his wife.
He roamed his eyes on her whole body, indeed she was really beautiful with an oval-shaped face, green eyes, fair complexion, a head filled with luscious chestnut hair and a nice slim build. But she had too many flaws which he could never ignore. He didn't know what his grandfather had seen in this girl, that he was hell-bound to make him marry her. Suddenly he became irritated thinking of his grandfather's deed.
"Can you sign it already? I have more important work to do." He said in annoyance. He wanted to get away from this room and this girl. Her mere presence was making him irritated.
"Sign it already? Excuse me, you didn't tell me about my benefits yet. First, tell me what would I get if I sign this contract?" Athena stated the first part mockingly and then asked in a serious voice, making Roman frown. As expected she is more concerned about the money.
"You will get 10 million dollars as alimony," Roman answered in an emotionless voice. Hearing him, Athena rolled her eyes. As expected, he's a miser.
" You have wealth worth 200 Billion yet you are giving me alimony of only 10M? Shouldn't I get 50% of your assets?" Athena said with a playful grin making Roman glare at her coldly.
"Tell what do you want? I will add this to the contract." Roman said, his voice was stern and emotionless like he was dealing with his business associates.
"50 million dollars, a beautiful house in Switzerland, a luxurious apartment in Toronto, a good apartment in Vancouver where I could shift temporarily after the divorce, a black Porsche, and lastly, a permanent Job in your company starting after our wedding. You see, I can't work as a maid after the wedding, can I? It would tarnish your well-respected image." Athena said with a wide smile on her face before returning the contract to him.
Meanwhile, Roman looked at Athena in astonishment. He couldn't believe his ears. Who said this girl was naive and stupid? She is such a cunning fox. She clearly knew how to do business. He cleared his throat and looked at Athena Blankly.
"Ok. I have no problem with your demand as long as you cooperate and do what I say. Remember no one outside the Morin family should know about this marriage and no one except us should know about this contract. If you fail to do so then you will have to face the consequences." Roman stated in a serious tone. His face had the usual cold expression.
Athena nodded in enthusiasm. As long as he had agreed to be her golden goose she would do anything.
"Don't worry, Mr Morin. I will be very obedient and do whatever you say as long as you fulfil my demand. No one will no, I will be the CEO's hidden wife." Athena answered while doing a lips sealing gesture.
Roman frowned hearing the part CEO's hidden wife. That girl was really crazy.
"Okay. I will have the contract prepared and bring it to you. Goodnight." Roman said as he held the contract in his hand and prepared to leave when suddenly Athena stopped him by calling his name.
"Wait Mr Morin, One last question." Athena said while showing one of her fingers. Her eyes twinkled with mischief.
"What?" Roman asked while narrowing his eyes.
"Why did you agree to marry me? Did your grandfather threaten you with your property?" Athena asked in a curious voice. He stared at her with curiosity as she waited for his answer.
"How did you know?" Roman asked while frowning at her.
"I guessed it right!" Athena answered with a grin making Roman glare at her. She gulped seeing his angry expression. He looked quite handsome while looking angry.
Roman was about to leave again when he stopped in his tracks and turned around to ask a question that was bothering him.
"What did grandpa talk to you about and why did you agree to marry me all of sudden?" Roman asked, his tone was sharp and it demanded only truth.
"Your grandpa made a deal with me. He promised to give me 10M if I agree to marry you and I'm marrying you for money." Athena answered honestly while smiling widely. Roman's deep blue eyes turned darker as he glared at Athena angrily before storming out of her room and a swift motion.
Athena looked at his retiring back which looked flat and musculine. She couldn't help but grin.
The game had already begun Mr Morin!

Athena paced back and forth to calm herself but no matter what she couldn't calm down herself. It was finally the day she would get married to Roman Morin. It's a simple wedding which is going to take place in a church. Besides, they had already applied for marriage registration and collected the certificate a few days back. The traditional marriage rituals were to satisfy the old patriarch of the house.Athena couldn't say she was too happy. The only thing she was anticipating from the marriage was the job in Morin Corporation. It was like a golden goose that would lay golden eggs for her at the end of every month. She had already signed the contract which was sent by Roman and from thisday she would live with Roman in his apartment and that didn't make her feel
Athena slowly followed Roman and entered his penthouse. It was a well-furnished and luxurious penthouse. Athena was very tired after the long wedding ceremony and wanted to go to her room and sleep as soon as possible. "Which one is my room?" Athena asked while yawning. She looked like a disaster with her hair looking like a bird's nest. Roman turned around and looked at her expressionlessly. "Upstairs, first room from the left," Roman answered in a casual voice making Athena nod. "Thanks. I will get going then. Good night Mr Morin." Athena said and greeted him a good night before making her way towards the staircase to go upstairs. "R
It was already lunchtime by the time Athena finished making half of the report. She yawned while stretching her body. Her back was aching from sitting too long in the same posture. The office room she was given was a nice one. It was comfortable and everything was well furnished. She was given a personal computer to work on. Athena took her phone out and checked the time. Time to have some lunch. Thinking of food, her stomach grumbled. She didn't eat anything since morning and was very hungry so she decided to take a break and go to eat something. She packed her bag and was about to go out when the telephone on her desk started to ring. She became startled for a moment. She slowly picked the phon
It was around 9 pm when Athena finally finished sending the last email. She was exhausted already so she quickly put her things in her bag and grabbed her phone from her desk before finally making her way out of her cabin. She was holding the printed files in one hand and her stuff in others as she made her way towards Roman's office. The whole floor was calm and silent as everyone had already left. She sighed, thinking when she would be able to go home and sleep. Meanwhile, busy in her thoughts she finally reached Roman's office and knocked two times as usual before entering. She closed the door behind her back and glanced at Roman who was going through some files. As usual, he didn't bother to look up so she cleared her throat to get his attention to which Roman finally looked up at and before putting the file aside.
It's been two weeks since Athena joined the Morin Corporation as Roman's joint Secretary. Also, it's been three weeks since she married Roman Morin legally after signing the prenuptial contract and agreed to be his hidden wife.In the past two weeks, Roman didn't let a single opportunity go to waste to exhaust her. He did everything to make her work hard starting from making her do every single chore. She made his coffee, arranged his schedule, brought him breakfast, lunch and dinner, sent emails, and brought gifts for his clients to impress them. Everything!Athena knew he was doing all those to make her quit but she wouldn't. Instead, she did everything without any mistakes. But alas she always finds a way to mock or insult her which makes her angrier day by day.
Around 30 minutes later they all reached the five-star hotel where the party was going to take place. In the whole journey from Bianca's house to the venue, Athena almost got a headache seeing how hard Bianca was trying to impress Roman. She couldn't help but frown watching how causally Bianca was trying to get close to Roman. On the other hand, Roman didn't seem interested in her at all.He behaved politely and kept his distance much to Bianca's protest.Back to the present, Kevin parked the car and got out of the car before rushing to open the door for Roman. Roman elegantly got out of the car and went to the other side to open the car door for Bianca like a gentleman. Kevin then came to Athena's side to open the door for her but she had alr
Athena looked at the man standing a few inches away from her with a scowl. She furrowed her brows while trying to process his words. When was she flirting? He was accusing her of something that she didn't do and it made her angry. She raised her eyes and looked directly at Roman was busy glaring at her. "Excuse me, what do you mean? I didn't flirt with anyone. I was just being polite with Mr Murphy." Athena finally snapped at him. "Really? But It didn't look like just talking to me. I'm warning you Athena if you try to do something like this again or do anything that harms my reputation then I won't play nice." Roman warned her directly. His voice was neutral while his face didn't sho
Athena quietly followed Roman into the tall building of The Morin Corporation. It was already past 9 in the evening so there weren't many people around. As they quietly made their way inside, the night guard came in their direction and greeted them politely. "Good evening, Sir and Madam. Is there any emergency?" The night guard asked simply. "Good evening, Rick. How are you? Yes, I need to collect some documents from my office." Roman greeted him back before answering his question. "I'm good. Thank you." The guard Rick answered while fixing the rifles or guns on his shoulder. As his eyes collided with Athena she passed him her usual sweet smile with a nod before twirling behind Roman while
