"Holy fuck!" Red screamed throwing off her bed covers as she leapt from the bed. "Shit! Shit! Shit!" She exclaimed.
The bright blinding light streaming through the windows had woken her.
She looked at the window and saw the sun was shining brightly.
"Fuck!" She cursed again.
She grabbed her old phone from the floor and checked the time. It was 2:00pm and that meant she had over slept and missed her interview.
"Calm down Red." She sighed taking in deep breaths, "There is no cause for alarm." She continued talking to herself, "You can still make it."
Make it? Her subconscious snarled, the interview was fucking six hours ago. Numbskull.
She ignored her inner buddy and thought of what to do.
She had to be there, she couldn't miss it.
Red thought since the interview started by eight o'clock. There would be a lot of people and it would take about fifteen minutes to interview one. So she figured applicants would still be there and if she was fast enough she could still get there and be among the last people to be interviewed.
She grinned inwardly at her observation and calculations.
Red needed to get there immediately.
She needed to clean up and change her clothing.
But she didn't.
She sniffed her armpits and figured she didn't smell too bad.
She cupped her hands and blew breath in it. She was repulsed by the stench but also thought it didn't smell that bad either.
She didn't bother changing.
She grabbed her purse from a small table in the room and dashed out of the house still wearing her old pyjamas.
Red raced to an interview she wanted to ace in old PJs, scattered hair, unwashed body and an unbrushed mouth.
She went to her interview as a mess.
Daniel was disappointed.
None of the applicants actually suited his taste. He didn't think any of them was fit for the job and he was having a hard time picking one.The men that came in for the job offer were either too dumb for him or too unqualified and the ladies were always making passes at him or had no idea what the job was about.
One of them didn't even go through high school.
"What did you say your name was again?" He asked the lady he was with presently.
She had platinum bleached blonde hair, tanned skin and a funny looking face that he knew had undergone numerous plastic procedures.
"Veronica." She smiled coyly batting her lashes at him, "But you can call me vee sir." She winked.
"Okay Veronica." He sighed, "Where have you worked previously before?" He asked her, "Hand me your CVs." He requested.
"Once at a mall and also as a receptionist at a bank."
"Okay, Good." Daniel nodded scanning her CV. It looked a bit manageable to him.
"What do you know about being a personal assistant?" He asked lifting his head.
"Well sir." She said in a sultry voice, "Aside making you coffee, giving you blow jobs, hand jobs, making your time in bed memorable and going with you on those exquisite and expensive travels." She winked, "What else is there to it?"
The heck?! Daniel looked at her puzzled, what the hell is she spewing?
"You know Mr Daniel." She reached out her hand to touch his grazing it slowing with her fingers, "You look like the kinda guy that likes to be called daddy."
He was controlling his temper now.
"I could show you a great time love." She said further, "You wouldn't regret it."
"Vee." He said sweetly.
"Yes." She batted her lashes yet again thinking he had interest cause he called her Vee, "Anything for you daddy." She bit her lower lip seductively.
"Vee." He called sweetly yet again.
"Yes daddy." She purred.
"GET OUT!!!" He thundered.
Red was stuck in traffic. She considered getting down from the taxi and continuing her journey on foot but she was too lazy to do so.
She wasn't even worried about missing the interview completely any more.
She came to a resolution that when she gets there she would demand a meeting with the boss apologise for her lateness and demand for the job.
With that, she sat laid back comfortably in the taxi munching joyfully at the half eaten pack of crackers she found in the seats.
The only thing she considered to be her problem presently was where she was gonna find a can of water to go down with the crackers.
As if the heavens above heard her thoughts, she looked to her side and found a full unopened can of water.
She didn't waste time in reaching out and grabbing it.
"Pheww." She sighed, "Problem solved." She muttered.
Daniel sipped from his third cup of coffee.
"Next!" He yelled.
A brunette woman came in. She wore a tight gown and her massive boobs were almost spilling out of her clothing.
She was chewing a gum and popping it loudly.
He rolled his eyes.
"Sit." He said, "And hand me your CVs."
"Okay sir." She took her seat and handed him a file.
"What's your name?" He asked tiredly getting frustrated of asking the same question for a couple of times now.
"It's Harriet." She answered popping her gum and the sound was beginning to irritate Daniel.
"How old are you?" He questioned further.
"27." She answered.
"Married?" He asked.
"Yes." She replied.
He nodded happily being glad that she wouldn't at least make a pass at him.
Daniel opened the file checking it out as he questioned her further.
"What did you study in school?" He asked her unsure of what was written in her CV.
"Cosmetology."
"Say wah?"
"Cosmetology."
"And you want to be a personal assistant?" He asked rhetorically, "You do not have a job?"
"I do."
"Then why do you want to be a Personal assistant?" He asked, "And what do you know about the job?"
"Well..." She popped the gum again and at this point Daniel wanted to force his hands in her mouth and pull the gum out, "First off I heard you were hot and I know nothing about this job."
"So you applied cause you heard I was hot?"
"Yes." She winked at him, "And they didn't lie, dammit!"
Daniel was beyond irritated and It wasn't long before he threw her out.
Red rushed through the company's halls ignoring the weird and disgusting looks she got from the staff she passed by.
At a point she broke into a Run and finally reached the receptionist table.
"Excuse me ma'am." She said tapping her hand on the table.
The woman at the table looked up at her accessing her with a quizzical look.
"How may I help you?" She finally broke her silence.
"I am here for the interview." Red stated.
"What interview?" The woman asked watching her cautiously.
"Your company put up an ad that they needed a personal assistant." She told her, "I am here for the interview." She said glancing around.
"I am afraid." The woman said fearing Red was an escape lunatic, "You have got the wrong place dear."
"No I don't." She said opening her purse and reaching into it, "This is the right place." She handed over to the woman the ad she had torn off the tree "That's the ad I saw."
"Well, you are l..." The woman didn't finish her statement before she saw Red racing to the CEO's office.
Oh dear, She panicked, he's going to kill me.
"Wait!" She ran after Red, "Don't go in there." She screamed.
Red pushed the door and entered the office.
"Good afternoon." She greeted.
"How may I..." The man raised his head and took one look at her, "Who the hell are you?"
"Oh, It's you!" Red snorted, "The stingy rich man."
Daniel looked at the dirty looking lady in front of him and was puzzled, "Me? Stingy rich man?"
"Yes, you." She waved an accusing finger at him.
He looked at her more intently and noticed her Red hair and then it dawned on him who she was.
She wasn't the person he wanted to see right now.
"I am really sorry sir." His receptionist walked in, "I tried my best to stop her."
"You let this lunatic in my office?!" He growled.
Daniel was beyond livid as he watched Red stand there calmly with an innocent look on her face.
She was the last person on earth he wanted to see.
His worst nightmare was before him and he knew he was in trouble.
"Rose, just leave." Daniel told the receptionist glaring daggers at her."I am sorry." She mouthed before hurrying away."What are you doing here?" He turned to face the woman he detested the most at the moment.Red raised her head and withdrew her fingers from the weird looking sword shaped plant she was touching."Nice plant you have here." She said, "Although weird." She told him referring to the shape, "And the edges are way too sharp.""It's a very expensive sword plant and get away from it." Daniel tried to control his temper, "What are you doing here?""I came for the interview." She stated."What interview?" He asked thinking she couldn't possibly be referring to the PA job offer."The interview for the position of a personal assistant.""You came for an interview like this?" He asked appraising her with a raised hand.
Daniel wasn't mad this time around. He was disappointed and he wondered if he could mete out instructions to any of his staff and they carry them out well without his intervention. He closed his laptop and looked up at his receptionist. She was standing before him with her hands folded in front of her and head hung low."What did you say you did Rose?" He asked her again even while knowing the words she would spew as answers would make him more disgruntled."I sent the mail to the wrong person sir." She said, "I am sorry.""Why did you do that?" He asked."I...I...I thought it was the person we chose." She replied.Daniel sighed and leant back in his chair. He began tapping his fingers on the table an action he did to control his anger."I didn't close from work yesterday." He began speaking, "After you keyed in the emails and I sent you home. I stayed up all night going
"What are you doing in my Boss's chair?" Red was the first to speak as she advanced towards Daniel waving her shoes as she walked."What are you doing here?" He retorted irritated by her rudeness still not clearing the air that he was the CEO.She put her wet heels on the table aggressively making a loud thud and they began to make a little pool of water as the wetness dripped from them."I am the CEO's new PA." She answered proudly with her hands at akimbo."And who told you that?" He chuckled."I received an email of appointment and an advance pay." She patiently answered his questions."So...""I won the bet Mr stingy." Red told him, "You owe me a 100 dollars, an apology and a nice cup of coffee. You also need to get up from my boss's seat."Daniel just stared at her."As his PA, it is my job to make sure that there are no pests like you in his office.""Pest? Oh please." He rolled his eyes, "You wouldn't
"What happened Red?" Sarah stood up asking while she wiped the dirt off her chin, "Why do you look so sad?"She watched Red walked uncomfortably, wobbling in her heels as she walked into the bakery."Damn this place is hot." Red exclaimed ignoring Sarah's question,"Shouldn't there be ACs in here or something?""Shut up." Sarah rolled her eyes, "This is a local and old fashioned bakery. Not your pristine heavenly office." She said, "It's not as if you are used to ACs yourself."Red playfully smacked her letting out a hearty laugh."So what happened earlier?" She asked, "Why did you have that look on your face when you walked in?"Red glanced around and saw that several workers were already paying little attention to them wanting to get a little gossip."Let's discuss outside." She dragged Sarah out and towards the back of the bakery. It was a bit noisy there with
She was once again attracting stares as she walked through the company's lobbies. Not because of her weirdly dyed hair or obnoxiously all red outfit but because of the terrible aroma coming from the cup cakes she held.Every one knew she was holding burnt cakes. The stares didn't stop her from greeting every individual she walked passed with a cheerful smile and a mini introduction that went thus; "Hi I am Red, Mr Daniel's new personal assistant."Some stared at her quizzically with hundreds of questions running through their minds while the others simply smiled back and wished her a good day."You can't go in Red." Rose told her for the umpteenth time while tapping rapidly on the keyboard placed on her table."Why?" Red asked again for whatever time, Rose had lost count. She shifted her gaze from the monitor's screen to Red's face, "He doesn't want you in
Daniel was walking leisurely towards his office but broke into a run immediately he saw people dressed in blue overalls coming and going in and out of his office."What in the flying falcons is going on here?" He asked Rose as soon as he got to her table."It's Red sir." Rose replied timidly afraid that his sharp gaze could actually release daggers at her.He didn't say anything further but rather he marched into the office only to meet with a sight that sent him into bewilderment. Red was standing in the centre of his now large red and green colored office with was formerly immaculate white. She was wearing some cargo shorts and a white T-shirt.Her hands moving around directing the workers in overalls as she stood there. He looked around and the office was a mess, he saw his old furniture cast aside with the workers moving som
On a typical day Rose wouldn't be worried if her boss didn't return from lunch early but in this case she had to be bothered.Very bothered as Red was with him."Where did you say they went again?" She asked one of the workers."I do not know." The man shrugged, "I just saw her dragging him out while he was grunting.""Oh." Rose pursed her lips, "Is that so?""Maybe they went for lunch." He said, "Cause I saw them leave at lunch time.""Thank you Todd." She said to the man before walking into Daniel's office. Her eyes hurt at the appalling sight she saw.The colours were horrifying and all of Mr Daniel's nice furniture was gone. They were replaced with garish ugly furniture and she was sure when he set his eyes on them she was very sure he would push Red of a cliff. She
The key made shackling noises as it was being twisted in the key hole and the rest of the bunch hit the iron bars."Out you go." The man in uniform said to Red, "Hurry up." He hit the baton on the bars.Red stood up and sluggishly dragged herself towards the entrance of the cell. She got there and stretched out her hands for the police officer to place the cuffs on her hands. He did that, got her out, closed the cell before leading her to the front desk. She was devastated that Daniel actually did that to her. It dawned on her after some hours of waiting that he purposely didn't bail her out and what Rose had told her was a lie.He did it to punish her on purpose. She wasn't angry, she was hurt.Maybe she was a little mad at him but the hurt filled in the anger."She dropped this for
