Chapter 15~ In heaven

“How did you get here?” Oliver asked the little girl in front of him.

He looked behind her and noticed that no adult was following her. A sudden surge of protectiveness overcame him and he frowned.

How could Claire let her daughter wander around alone at this time of the night?

“My Aunt Quinn brought me to see Mommy,” Thalia replied, looking up at Oliver.

The smell of dessert and pastries suddenly filled the air. Thalia sniffed and her stomach rumbled loudly.

When Oliver realised where the sound was coming from, he chuckled and asked gently, “Are you hungry? You haven’t eaten anything?”

Thalia shook her head and replied, “I wanted to wait for Mommy but she took too long.”

“Come,” Oliver held out his hand. “How about I get you something to eat and then, we can go and see your Mommy? She’s busy right now, so let’s not disturb her.”
