They lived in Eric's luxury apartment in one of New York's most exclusive towers—an immense, cold space that felt more like a prison than a home.

Their encounters were limited to formal breakfasts, where Eric avoided even sitting near her, a spotless ghost who ate in silence before disappearing toward the summit of his empire.

Bianca spent hours locked away, her only company the echo of her own footsteps across the pristine marble floors. She was forbidden to leave—an unspoken rule, yet clearly understood. The giant windows offered spectacular views of the city, but she felt more trapped than ever.

That morning, the ritual repeated itself. Eric finished his coffee, stood up without glancing her way, and left the dining room, the sound of his firm footsteps fading until the front door clicked softly shut. Bianca sat alone, her breakfast untouched and an oppressive emptiness knotting her stomach. Her head began to spin, and a wave of nausea hit her hard.

She tried to get up to go to the bathroom, but her legs buckled. Her vision blurred, and the world whirled around her in a dizzying vortex. A deafening buzzing filled her ears. Her knees gave out, and the last image her eyes caught before total darkness was the gleaming floor.

The click of the door echoed again. Eric, having forgotten crucial documents for a morning meeting, had returned to the apartment with unusual impatience. He walked into the dining room and stopped dead in his tracks. His gaze landed on Bianca's slumped figure on the floor, pale and seemingly lifeless. For an instant, his icy mask of indifference cracked, revealing a spark of alarm.

He approached her with unaccustomed speed. Kneeling down, the hand that had always pushed her away pressed against her forehead. It was cold.

"Bianca!" he called, his voice louder than usual, carrying a note of urgency she hadn't heard since the accident.

He gathered her in his arms, feeling how light she was, and hurried toward the elevator. The guards, startled, cleared a path as Eric held her with a restlessness he didn't recognize.

The trip to the hospital was a blur.

The chill of the hospital gurney woke Bianca. The sterile white light blinded her for a moment. She felt a pinch in her arm where an IV had been placed. Next to her, a doctor with a kind face spoke in a calm voice.

"Mrs. Harrington, you're going to be fine. You just need to rest and eat better. Have you been experiencing morning sickness?"

Bianca frowned. Morning sickness? She hadn't thought about that.

It was then that Eric's voice rang out from the back of the room, as cold as an icicle.

"Morning sickness, Doctor?" Irony dripped from every word. "Isn't it obvious? Explain it to her once and for all, since she seems too naive to understand what's happening to her own body."

The doctor, looking somewhat uncomfortable, glanced at Eric and then at Bianca.

"Well, Mr. Harrington, judging by the preliminary test results and the symptoms, your wife is... pregnant."

The word pregnant hung in the air like a bomb. Bianca's eyes widened, and her breath caught. Pregnant. It couldn't be.

Eric stepped forward, his glacial gaze fixed on her, now tinged with frozen fury.

"You see that, Bianca?" His voice was a lethal whisper meant only for her ears. "Tell me straight out. Who is the father? Who did you sleep with? Wasn't it enough to ruin my life with Aitana's death, that you now have the nerve to bring a bastard into this house?"

The air rushed from her lungs. She felt trapped, suffocated by the accusation. How could she tell him? How could she confess that the father of her baby was him, Eric Harrington?

That night—the night Aitana asked her to pretend to be her so Aitana could see her true love, her impossible love, Steven—Aitana had explained that she knew anyway that Eric was drunk and wouldn't recognize her. That was the night that man, amidst the alcohol, had made her his. He would never believe her. He would consider her a liar, a manipulator, an even greater impostor than he already thought her to be.

Bianca's silence was her condemnation. Eric's words continued, each one like a lash.

"See? Silence. The truth eats away at you, doesn't it? You were always easy, a wolf in sheep's clothing playing the saint. While I've been working, you've been spreading your legs for the first guy who crossed your path."

Tears welled in her eyes, hot and painful, but she made no sound. Any defense was useless. He had already judged and sentenced her. The cruelty in his eyes was unbearable—a bottomless pit of contempt. She felt smaller than ever, vulnerable, and completely alone against the implacable fury of Eric Harrington.

"Eric... stop."

The doctor walked out, leaving them alone, feeling sorry for the woman.

"Stop? Do you want me to applaud you? Give you a prize? You know what I'll give you? A divorce. Congratulations, Bianca."

She didn't look at him, keeping her hands tightly clasped together. Aching. She wouldn't apologize, she wouldn't beg for forgiveness. Why do it again when she was guilty of nothing? She was tired of being pointed at, yet she was innocent.

"He is your baby, he is your son!" she pointed out. "We were together, you don't remember, but we spent the night together."

A dry laugh from Harrington assured her that, no matter how hard she tried, she would only receive hatred from him.

"Nice try," he said, standing up from the chair he had occupied. "We're going back to the apartment. There's nothing more to discuss; we're ending this absurd marriage. My parents and yours won't object—after all, you messed up. Your parents should start thinking about where to go; I doubt my parents will show any mercy for what their in-laws' daughter has done."

It sounded less like a threat and more like a final verdict.

Vivian paced back and forth in the room, her footsteps echoing in the tense silence. Her husband, Bruno, was aware of how worried his wife was after everything that had happened. He approached Vivian and tried to calm her down, to soothe that intense green gaze of hers. The woman, her eyes filled with anger and sadness, looked into Bruno's honey-colored eyes."Don't even tell me to calm down because I can't do it!" she exclaimed, her voice barely contained. "You don't know how disappointed and sad I am about everything that happened. I didn't think our daughter would be capable of doing something like that; I really didn't think she would sleep with anyone and end up making us a laughingstock. Aren't our names and surnames, and even our reputation, stained before the Harrington family? That's too shameful! I don't even know how we're going to get out of this without consequences."Bruno tried to put a positive spin on the situation, looking for a glimmer of hope in the storm."Wife, I

Eric Harrington, upon arriving at the company, once again monopolized attention, becoming the center of all curious glances. He sighed. The spotlight was on him, the curious looks and muffled sighs of women whispering among themselves about how handsome their boss was, how truly perfect he looked every morning in his suits and flawless attire."He's too handsome. Too bad he's already married," one commented with a tone of resignation."As if he'd ever pay attention to you," retorted another, more pragmatic. "Anyway, even if he were single, he wouldn't even glance your way. We're inferior next to that man, let's be honest, it's our sad reality.""I never lose hope," the dreamer said, sighing. "You never know what might happen in our lives. So don't be so pessimistic."The other woman rolled her eyes. Eric, oblivious to the gossiping, walked toward one of the elevators—the one only he and personnel authorized by him, like his secretary or whoever he pleased, could use. It was almost an

Eric slowly opened his eyes that morning, feeling gripped by a terrible headache throbbing at his temples. At that moment, he regretted drinking so much, but it was too late. There was nothing left to do except ease that pain. With a groan, he got out of bed and headed to the kitchen. He opened the fridge and pulled out an isotonic drink, one of those promising to rehydrate the body and replenish electrolytes. He drank it in one gulp, hoping it would work its magic. He headed to the bathroom, brushing his teeth with excessive force as if wanting to erase any trace of the previous night. He took a cold shower that woke him up a bit and got ready for the day. Although he was truly fatigued and had no mood to go to work or do anything productive, he couldn't afford to miss it. So he simply forced himself to do what had to be done: fulfill his duty.He remembered the night before, the conversation he had with his lawyer. Or rather, the order he had given him. Mr. Liam Johnson had limited

The conversation about Aitana had brought a pang of pain to the atmosphere, a grim reminder of the tragedy that united them. Bianca, feeling the discomfort, decided to divert the attention."Steven, I don't know if it's a mistake to bring her up, but I really want to know how you've been since my sister's death. I suppose it hasn't been easy for you at all; I can't imagine how complicated it must be."At that moment, Steven's expression changed, as if the words had struck him, affecting him deeply. It was evident that he missed Aitana terribly."I won't deny, Bianca, that there are nights when I simply can't handle the pain," he murmured, his voice steeped in profound melancholy. "Every time I go to bed, I can't stop thinking about what happened to her. I wish I could turn back time and be with her again, and tell her everything I couldn't. I feel like the moments we shared together weren't enough to express all my affection and love. Still, I suppose I should value everything I was a

In Steven's quiet apartment, Bianca tried to drown out the whirlwind of thoughts besieging her. Eric's cruelty, her innocence, the truth he refused to believe... everything blended into an amalgam of pain and frustration. How could she make him understand if he didn't even remember that night? And even if she tried, she knew Eric would brand her a liar, accuse her of making excuses, of trying to defend herself and lying all over again. No, it wasn't worth it. The thought of repeating the same story, of facing the same disbelief, was too heavy a burden for her already exhausted soul. She felt weighed down by so many thoughts at once, eclipsing the cruel way Eric had treated her.She no longer deserved to have been treated that way—least of all when she was innocent, when she was telling the truth. But she also put herself in his shoes and wondered how she could blame him when he didn't even remember the night they had spent together.Steven's apartment was a haven of order and good tas

News of Bianca's pregnancy spread like wildfire, reaching Vivian first. It wasn't long before the door of the luxury apartment flew open, revealing Vivian's furious figure, with Bruno hot on her heels wearing an expression of anguish. Bianca was standing in the living room, fear a cold knot in her stomach, when Vivian spotted her. "You! Utter disgrace!" Vivian screamed, and before Bianca could react, a slap rang through the silence of the apartment. The impact jerked Bianca's head to the side, the sting on her cheek paling against the burning humiliation. "Whore! Slut! Ruining what little dignity we had left!" Right at that moment, as if fate took pleasure in the drama, the doorbell rang insistently. The door swung open, and George and Jackeline Harrington walked in, their faces impassive, though their eyes held a cold expectation. Eric must have informed them. They had come to corroborate the humiliating truth. Shame burned through Bianca, mixing with impotent rage. How could the
