DAMIEN'S POV

“Father, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not coming home,” I said as I moved my hand to end the call, but his voice called out before I could tap the red button.

“I don't know what grudge you have against your stepmother, but it's been nine years since you and your step-sister ran away from home. Don't you think you should let bygones be bygones? Can't you just see her as your mother-”

“She would never be my mother. Go ask your damn wife what she did to me. You claim to be my father yet you know nothing about your son's life. Go ask your wife how she nearly ruined my life!” I yelled and before he could say another word, I hung up.

Today just had to start on a very annoying note.

I flipped through the files in front of me in anger, and when someone opened the door without knocking, I was ready to transfer my aggression to whoever it was.

“Do you have no manners-” My gaze softened when I realized it was her but after remembering what she did, my gaze hardened immediately as my hands balled into fists.

“You seem angry. Who's trying to piss my man off?” She whispered in her soft voice, definitely not aware of the secret I found out and I let out a scoff of annoyance.

“Everyone seems to be getting on my nerves this morning,” I mumbled in dissatisfaction as she inched closer and placed the papers on my desk before moving to sit on my lap.

“Well, what can I do to help?” She asked softly as she wrapped her arms around my neck and a small smirk formed on my lips.

“You know what I want…” I mumbled as I nuzzled my face into her neck but she quickly pushed me away and got off me, just like she always did.

“I already told you I wasn't ready-”

“When are you ever going to be ready, Sylvia? I've been patient for two good years now! What exactly is my offense?” I nearly yelled in anger and she rubbed her neck nervously as she looked at me with a pitiful expression.

“Just give me a little more time…”

“A little more time? Fine. But first, you have to explain this to me.” I reached into the drawer of my desk and took out pictures taken of her and different men in hotels and clubs.

“Mind explaining what this means?” I pushed the pictures towards her and I watched as her expression changed from confusion to that of shock and horror.

“What… How… Who gave you this? Have you been stalking me?” She asked in horror and I let out a scoff of disbelief as I ran my hand through my hair.

“So it is true… I've been patient all this while, thinking it was my fault that you didn't want me the way I wanted you. But you've been cheating on me this whole time? Did you have fun messing with me? Was this why you had always wanted to keep our relationship a secret?”

“Damien, listen to me… I can explain-”

“Tell me the truth. Did you or did you not sleep with those men?” I asked bluntly and my heart sank when she nodded slowly.

“B-but I can explain! This was long ago before I met you!!” She tried to defend herself, but I wasn't having any more of her nonsense.

“I'm not stupid, Sylvia. Those pictures are dated! Last week, last month, last year… How could you do this to me?” My voice cracked as I spoke, and she started to cry as she approached me, trying to make up excuses, but I was done listening.

“Get out. We're over.” I pointed at the door as I glanced at her coldly and she stumbled backward in shock, desperation written all over her face.

“Damien, please! It was a mistake, don't do this to me… to us!” She cried out as she came close to me but I moved out of the way so that she couldn't touch me.

“You should have thought about us before you decided to cheat. I'm not firing you, I'm not that selfish. Just go. We're done.”

She stared at me for a while before wiping her tears and storming out of my office. I raked my fingers through my hair as I collapsed into my chair and tried to calm myself down.

I buried myself in the pile of work sitting on my desk so that I didn't need to think about how my girlfriend betrayed me and treated me like a fool.

The day went by in a flash and to my disappointment, Sylvia didn't show up again at my office after she stormed out. I had to get her off my mind, so I got into the car and drove around Texas to clear my head.

The car suddenly came to a stop in front of a club and I realized that I was low on gas.

“Fuck, how did I not notice this?” I muttered in disappointment as I got out and looked around. The place looked shabby and not my kind of taste. But I needed help so I swallowed in my pride and went into the club.

Before I could take two steps in, I was surrounded by a group of teenage girls who seemed to have no intentions of letting me go. I had no idea how to get out of this situation as I had never been to a place like this before.

Suddenly, a lady was in front of me, taking my side as if she knew me and helping me escape from their clutches. The moment I caught her appearance after she had taken me outside, I couldn't help but be mesmerized.

She was extremely beautiful. Her eyes held depths of coldness like she had deep secrets locked in there that she wouldn't want anyone to find out.

She demanded that I pay her for helping me out, but as we spoke, I couldn't help but notice the tiny movements she made when she met my gaze. She moved from one foot to the other and constantly played with her fingers like she was nervous even though her expression was blank.

I didn't think twice when the words came to my head so I blurted it out immediately, not caring about the consequences of my words or actions. I wanted to get revenge on Sylvia.

“Spend one night with me and I'll pay you a thousand dollars.”

“The fuck?” She yelled as she yanked her hand away from mine and crossed her arms in annoyance. “Do you think I'm some kind of harlot you can pick up on the street?”

“That's not what I meant. But apparently, you're lonely. I'm also lonely, so why don't we keep each other's company?” I suggested with a sly smirk and she eyed me for a minute.

What the fuck was I doing?

“The CEO of Daro and Co. is lonely? How hilarious. Fine, I'll accept your request. But I don't want a thousand dollars. I want something else.” She replied as she inched closer, a small smirk on her lips and I found myself gulping in response.

“Name it.”

“You give me a job offer in your company.”

ELLA'S POVI woke up quite early in the morning as I began preparing to head down to work, I had thought for most of the night about my activity for the day.I remembered I had a thing to do for Sylvia's sake, going over to the hospital yielded no result except increasing my level of uncertainty.Damian wouldn't go over to the hospital to delete the CCTV footage of his self defense unless they was more to it than meets the eyes, he had acted strange for quite sometimes plus Kayla pointed out he wasn't who I thought he was.I needed to see through with all this, who was lying and who was saying the truth. Now definitely was the perfect time to do so, Damian's library in the house at the bottom of Texas gave me no important information, maybe there was some but I couldn't get access to the locked drawers in the room.I made up my mind to search Damians office. I was determined to get a thing or two from my search, but that would be impossible if Laila were to get to work before me.I hu

Only getting worse by the day, I felt the only person that kept me sane was Ella.I could sleep so sound after having a conversation with her but with this ongoing drama they was no way we could talk or rather have any fucking conversations.Ella had been stressed due to the whispers going on about her at the office, I needed someone's opinion on what to do.Letting the rumors die down silently or addressing it like I did the previous time, I went down the Ella's house at downside Texas immediately i left work after getting the flight schedule from Laila, I had lots of questions to ask Laila but wouldn't want to ring more bells arou

ELLA'S POV ELLA'S POVI Walked out of the hospital feeling light on one shoulder and heavy on the other, I felt light over the fact that Emily was free from torment, I sincerely hoped she wouldn't get to my point before she realized she needed to back out.I was blinded for three fucking years and only got my sight with Sylvia's help, maybe I would have ended up dead and not just with a lost womb if Sylvia hadn't advised me against Jason, I heaved in relief as I dabbled out the hospital, Emily at least got out in on piece, I wished for a fact I had done same.I walked towards the car as I saw Diego staring towards my direction all smiles, sometimes I couldn't help but wonder what exactly his deal with me is, if he had a crush on me, he certainly was gonna lose his job any moment and if he was just being who he was then he certainly was a nice person.“Stayed out so long didn't I?” I asked the moment I was in front of the car, he shook his head and let the door open for me to walk int

  • Falling for the CEO Who Ruined My Best Friend   CHAPTER 134

DAMIAN'S POVI sat next to Luke as we waited on our plane schedule, although it was a morning flight, we somehow still happened to make it to the airport almost an hour before time.Luke bent his head over into the newspaper in front of him and I couldn't help but wonder why a young man would read a newspaper when they were other means of getting informations, I took out my phone and stared at it realizing I had no use of it at this moment.I dropped it down beside me and focused my attention back on people walking past me some looking excited and some looking weary maybe of their departure. Not everyone was so glad to travel I thought, maybe Julie looked more weary when she was being dragged on to another country.I looked at my phone as I heard a vibration and found it ringing on the seat, I picked it up and stared at the strange number calling. It wasn't saved and I mostly wouldn't pick up an unsaved number, I was used to getting calls from strange numbers and mostly they were pran

JULIE'S POVAs I said those words out loud I knew we were in deep shit, Ruth was already sobbing beside me, and I felt tears gather up in my eyes too.“What are we gonna do now?” Ruth asked with a shaky voice. I stayed quiet picking out my nails. The car had already driven off by this time and we were once again alone on the highway.“Let's go forward a bit, maybe we could find a building” I said already ahead of Ruth, she followed with my hasty steps as we hurried down the road as if we had a destination in mind.We saw a truck approaching us again and this time I thought again stopping it, we couldn't even communicate after all.“We should at least get a phone” Ruth said in a frustrated tone, I didn't even think of that. I could easily recall all Damians number, all I needed was just a cell phone to get across with him. I waved over the car abruptly and Ruth stared at me before doing the same, the driver, this time around was a lady, paused and began speaking a foreign language. Spa

JULIE'S POVIt was 2pm in the afternoon, I sat by my window observing the security post. They had brought in food for me to eat, but I had been too nervous to even take a bite.I looked towards the door and saw Ruth walk in through it like she had stood out there waiting for the clock to hit 2. She had a brown veil on, covering her up from head to toe, which compliment her skin“Your food?” She said pointing towards the food laying untouched on the table.“Yeah I know” I nodded“Lost your appetite” I shrugged and rolled my eyes away and then back towards her.“Yeah kind of”“I did too” she chuckled as she sat next to me at the window, we looked out together in silence, heaving out loud on a regular basis.“Maybe we shouldn't do this” I finally bloated out, my eyes looking out through the window. I had been enthusiastic about today, but as the time grew closer, my anxiety got the better part of me.“Hell nah, we gonna do it” I heard Ruth's voice as she chuckled. She had for sure grown

  • Falling for the CEO Who Ruined My Best Friend   CHAPTER 131

JULIE'S POVAfter my talk with Ruth I became optimistic for the first time in a long time. I was gonna leave this trench hole if the cards were played. We walked back into my room as we made funny remarks and gestures, although I was too weak to smile, I tried my best to bring out a little of it at least to keep Ruth a bit hopeful too. She was going on about Jace and I wondered if she cared so less about her family or hated them as much as I did with mine.Did she hate her parents for getting her hanged up in such a situation, I wouldn't blame her if she did although I was so sure mum had made letting her come over with me as an only option for them.“You must love Jace so much” I added trying to sound so interested in the whole gist.“Yeah I do, we were going to move in together before this” she said as she moved her hands around the house. I loved the way she talked about her love life, so easy going. They obviously were both young college students but I loved how they had made plan

DAMIAN'S POVI had decided to give Ella space if that was what she wanted. I wouldn't want to be around and she was acting uncomfortable. I thought of possible ways to atone for my sins but nothing was forthcoming, I missed Julie so much, this should have been the time when she knew exactly what to do.I walked around in my room putting a thing or two together for my trip, I had grown overly optimistic. Maria wouldn't believe it when she realizes I got to jullie so soon.I picked up my phone to call on Laila and get her bring the tickets to me, I hadn't being at work for over two days now. I ensured I did all my work from home to avoid meeting up with Ella of cause I wouldn't want her to flare up on seeing.I dropped my phone and got into a button up shirt and slacks, I certainly wouldn't be calling in a staff to my house, the recent hobby of my workers was something I would try all my possible best from getting involved with. The names being labeled out on Ella got me so fucking pis

  • Falling for the CEO Who Ruined My Best Friend   CHAPTER 129

ELLA'S POVI kept my gaze glued to Emily as she excitedly rubbed over the ring, she certainly was an open minded person. I couldn't imagine myself out of an abusive relationship and in less than a month I got engaged to another person, it certainly was impossible.I wondered how I was the source or motivation behind her actions, I literally only stared at her bewildered whenever she came up with her crazy conclusions, I only hoped she wouldn't walk out here with a new conclusion.Maybe I motivated her into breaking off her engagement, I scoffed and brought myself out of my thoughts only to realize she had been speaking. Her eyes were glued into mine as it glistered with enthusiasm in it.“Huhn” I asked, trying to get on with her, she obviously had asked a question.“I said," Would you like to have a chat with him” I blinked, my eyes still a bit confused.“Williams” she chuckled“Nah I'm good”“He would love to see you tho, I've told him a lot about you”“About me” I asked, still very
