ELLA'S POV
I woke up to an empty room and if I didn't know better, I would have assumed everything that happened last night was a dream. As I sat up and rubbed my eyes, I suddenly realized that I had messed up. Damien had said that he had hired me but there was no proof that he actually did. What if I showed up at the company and their security kicked me out? What will I do then? “I'll figure it out somehow,” I said to myself as I got out of bed and put on my clothes. My eyes caught sight of his business card on the table and I noticed it was different from the one he had shown me last night. This one had a golden color like it was something special. Was this the invitation ticket to get into his company? Maybe he didn't abandon me after all… I smiled and placed it inside my pocket before leaving the hotel. I headed back home and freshened up quickly as I got ready to resume work as a fashion designer again. I had given up on it, thinking that no company would hire me because of my past with Jason, however, luck had decided to shine on me by bringing Damien my way. It seemed like life had decided to give me another chance after all the painful shit I'd been through. Before I left the house, I peeked at Mom's room to see that she was still sleeping soundly. A painful smile formed on my face when I realized that all I wanted to do was bury myself in her arms and tell her all that had been happening. However, that was a wish that might never come to pass. Shaking off the negative thoughts from my head, I stepped outside and boarded a cab as the driver drove me to my destination. When we arrived, I couldn't help but be dumbstruck. It was bigger than I had seen in those articles and on TV! I stood out there for minutes, just admiring the beauty that this company beheld. Working at a place like this is almost like a dream come true. “My, my… what a beauty,” I whispered to myself as I walked in, and just as I expected, I was stopped by the security men who stood outside. “Do you have an appointment?” One of them asked me and I shook my head immediately as I greeted them with a smile. “I don't, but I'm here to see Damien Rojas,” I replied and they all looked at each other before bursting into laughter. “Do you think the boss sees just anybody? If you don't have an appointment, then get lost!” The other bulky guard said to me with a mocking expression on his face and I frowned at how harsh they were. “Is this how the workers of this company are? You look beautiful from the outside, but on the inside, you all are rotten and disrespectful.” I said with a tsk and shook my head in disappointment. “What did you just say?” They bellowed at me and one of them stepped forward as he gripped my shirt in anger. “Who do you think you are to come in here and tell us what we are? I could fling you out this instant!” He spat and I smiled mischievously at him. I didn't know why I was acting this way, but I figured that whatever happened, I wouldn't lose anything anyway. If they kicked me out this time, I'd simply show up again until I met Damien. “Who am I? I'll tell you, my name is Ella and I really don't give a fuck. Oh, also, before you fling me out, you should take note that I have something important in my pockets.” I grinned at him and he narrowed his eyes at me as he let me go while I straightened up my clothes. “Leave and never return. You're just an innocent girl, you don't need all these.” He said as he turned around and went back to his post. “Oh? What about this? Does it mean anything?” I asked with a grin as I took out the golden business card in my pocket and showed it to them. I acted nonchalantly but deep down, even I didn't know the use or the meaning of the damn card. Their expressions changed in an instant and they all looked at me in shock while they whispered incoherent words to themselves. “H-how did you get that?” The bulky guard asked as he stepped forward and I realized that the card in my hand wasn't anything ordinary. “Damien himself gave it to me. Can I see him now?” I asked with a roll of my eyes before tucking the card back into my pocket. “Ahh, yes, yes, this way, please.” He said with a more respectful tone and I couldn't control the feeling of pride and surprise that surged within me. He directed me to the reception, where we met the clerk, and he instructed her to direct me to the CEO's office. “Thank you,” I said with a smile as I bowed respectfully and he immediately waved it off with an awkward smile on his face. “I hope that you would not hold a grudge against us because of what happened outside earlier… We were just doing our job.” He said with tension and anxiety written all over his face and I shook my head in response. “It's fine. I would advise you to be more polite to people, though; we are all humans.” I replied as I patted him on the shoulder and turned around to follow the clerk. Man, I felt like I was some special deity and it was all because of this card. I wondered what post he'd give to me since he apparently favored me already. I looked around in awe as I took in the beautifully built interior and my jaw nearly dropped when I saw the expensive mannequins that lined up in front of me. We got into the transparent elevator and I waited in silence as it took us up to the last floor. Everything was so beautiful, it felt too unreal. The moment we stepped out of the elevator, I heard someone call my name and my head whipped around in shock. “Ella?” “Sylvia?”ELLA/DAMIAN'S POV DAMIAN'S POV I held Ella by the hand as we walked into the restaurant. It was a cold evening and I had her put on my suit jacket above her red dinner dress. The restaurant was totally empty because I booked out the whole place. I wouldn't want Ella feeling uncomfortable for any reason. I had my hands tucked into my trouser jacket as I clutched tightly on the ring case in it. I felt a bit anxious but I knew I needed to do this. I pulled a sit out for Ella and watched her sit right into it as I sat directly opposite to her, she had this weary smile on her face and I wondered why. “Why is the place this quiet?” She asked, rolling her eyes all around the room, I gave off a weird smirk but said nothing else to her. “What would you like to have?” The waitress asked, walking towards us, I looked through the menu and found Ella doing the same, she seemed so confused as to what she was gonna order. “The steak here is nice,” I said, giving off a reassuring smile.
DAMIAN'S POV“Was it really over!?”I found myself pondering on that question every minute of the day, the image of Maria laying flat on the ground, her blood splattered all around couldn't stop replaying in my head. Her death seemed like the end of it all, the torture, the nightmares the pain I had to go through for years. I didn't wish for her death, but her death brought freedom for us all.We left the police station and I felt even better. I watched Jason drop down on his feet in defeat. He knew it was the end for himself. The only person I felt a bit of pity for was Sylvia, although she was gonna pay for her crimes nonetheless, everyone needed to take responsibility for their actions. She committed them all fully conscious, her being remorseful was only a sign of repentance, she could fully repent whilst serving time.I looked at Ella as we drove back to the house, she looked extremely anxious and I could guess she had the same question in her head. Was it really over, maybe ther
ELLA'S POV The drive back home was silent as I wondered what Damian might be thinking of me. I vowed never to tell a man I had lost my womb during an abortion. But seeing Damian, I was willing to trade it all. As much as I claimed I didn't want to end up with Damian, a part of me still begged God to make him mine. I couldn't imagine a life without him any longer, but I wasn't ready to punish someone else for my own sins. We were now home and I couldn't stare into Damians face, I hurried towards the door not waiting for him to say a word to me. I was utterly embarrassed, I let out my deepest secret and worst of all, I cried like an infant in Damians arms. I got into the room and shut the door behind as I fell down flat into the bed. I found myself sobbing uncontrollably, I didn't know what my fate held unto, I cried my eyes out till my voice felt cranky. “Ella?” I heard a knock on the door, it was Anna and I was sure she wanted me out for dinner. I couldn't afford to stare back at
ELLA'S POVWe left the police station in silence as we drove back towards the house down side Texas, I rubbed my sweaty palms continuously on my dress and I was sure Damian had noticed that. He also seemed to be so anxious, everything seemed to be happening so fast, first Damian's dad was murdered then his stepmom killing herself and now Jason's surrender in total defeat, it seemed as though a greater storm was on the way. How was I right beside Damian without the fear of anything, I didn't know if what I felt was peace or it was just the feeling of calmness before a wagging storm surfaced. Damian looked into my eyes and held onto my hands so tightly as if to reassure me it really was all over, there wasn't any stalker, neither was there a toxic ex. I really was free, I rested my head into the chair and sighed in deep relief.A part of my chest still throbbed in pain, I had lost my friend, I really got betrayed by my own friend Sylvia. The look in her eyes at the police station clearl
JASON'S POVAfter the legal team left, I never saw them at the police station again. I wondered how this incident went to light, I suspected Damian pushed it out into the public, I called my own lawyers and although they assured me I was gonna be out, the odds were so low. Dad had dragged onto the public sentiment as he spoke with the media pleading with the masses and assuring them justice was gonna be served in my case. He was a fucking traitor to leave his own son at the face of crisis, that actually was just like him, he always did what was best for the company, not caring about me or anyone else. I was totally fucked and I needed a way out, with dad out and Maria off the radar I could fall back on Damian and if it didn't turn out well I was gonna crawl on my knees to Maria.Sylvia was a fucking idiot, and I regretted the day I decided to join hands with her, she was blood but certainly didn't behave as one. She had implicated us both and wouldn't even try to get us out as she acc
DAMIAN'S POVWe were back to the desk where it all began for Ella, where the thought of revenge sprang up, where her anger multiplied. The same desk she got to know how bitter people were about her. The only difference today was that there were two victims and two assailants. Tommy looked at us four with keen interest, he wouldn't want an outburst whilst he was helping me. I needed to see Jason and make it known to him that he never was leaving the cell, he had tried it all but I came to assure him he was at a loss. Sylvia sat right beside him, her eyes so bulgy, she certainly had cried her fucking eyes out. I was glad she at least knew it was the end for her.“I don't wanna be here, can I leave?” Sylvia raised up her head as she spoke, I'm quite sure she was overly surprised to see me still alive and well.“No you can't,” Tommy simply said.“I've said it all, what more do you want me for!!!” She snapped. I was sure her pride couldn't let her sit in the same room as me and Ella, she c
