Chapter 3

The walk back to the lobby was a bit rushed as she assumed she would miss David’s appointment, but once she reached the front desk her eyes widened as Antonio stood there in casual clothing looking as yummy as she remembered him to look. Her mouth flew open and she couldn’t take another step. His regular tee shirt hung so perfect to the top of his chest and she watched as he spoke to Rock. His face more tanned than before as if he had been sitting in the sun, so beautifully toned all the way to his arms. His hair looked to have been freshly cut low enough for a fade, but still his curly strands stood out. A Hispanic god was laid out before her and she stupidly passed him up.

“Oh I remember you!” Rock yelled out, standing up to greet Antonio shaking his hand.

“Janet would be pleased to know you are here.” Antonio smirked.

“I highly doubt that, but if I could talk to her soon that would be nice.” Janet held her breath as she tried to compose herself before walking over, but the clenching over her stomach and the tightness of her vagina muscles began to make her uncomfortably wet and that was just from looking at him. How had he developed such an effect on her?

She didn’t know, but it had been a whole year since she laid eyes on him. There was no way her body could react the way it did after so long, but yet her body remembered every thrust and every kiss that made her cum harder than she thought humanly possible. It was no denying Antonio was the one for her. The proof was clear on the sheets and the couch and lord knows where else they did it that night over a year ago.

Her heart knew him, reached out for him, but she couldn’t give in. Not while she was the best paid prostitute in the game. Did Antonio deserve that? More so could she even provide the kind of love he would need? Attending to others caused her to lose focus of herself very often.

“I will make time for you honey. You are so handsome no wonder she…” Janet cleared her throat to keep Rock from talking too much. He paused with a silly grin on his face.

“Why Janet look who it is.” He said walking around the desk, placing his hands on her shoulder. Possibly to keep her from running. She laughed softly at her friend knowing his intentions were pure, but not needed.

“Janet, hi. You are looking beautiful as always.” Even better than he remembered was what he continued in Antonio’s mind.

She took a deep breath and replied “Thank you. You are looking great yourself. What do I owe this pleasure?” And much pleasure I wish you would give me. Her mind continued, trying not to stare too hard at his body and the lust in his eyes.

Rock leaned forward. “And a pleasure it is.” He added, flicking his wrists meant to flirt.

Janet nudged him. “Rock, go to lunch.” She commanded, hoping he would catch the hint. He threw his hands up with a frown.

“Fine. I’m hungry anyway.” He then left them alone as the tension between them grew.

“He’s quite a character.” Antonio laughed softly as he shook his head.

“Antonio, what are you doing here?” She asked again needing to know. A part of her wished he was there to confess his undeniable love for her and take control over her and screw her right in the lobby, but she knew better. From his demeanor and stance it was all about business. Something must’ve been up for the police department to send him to her.

“We need to talk. Can we speak somewhere more private?”

“Oh lord here come four o'clock early as usual.” Rock said loud so Janet could hear, walking back up to his desk.

She looked over at David walking through the door. He was very refined as always, but something about him Janet wasn’t attracted to. He wasn’t rough around the edges like the man she was looking over now as he watched David walk up. No man or woman caught her eye like Antonio did. His smell even intoxicated her senses.

“Evening.” David replied with a medium low tone that wasn’t his own. Antonio might’ve been intimidating to him. David was the complete opposite of him, but they both were taller than Janet, Antonio a few inches taller. David was light bright with a mischievous grin that hid behind sin. His posture was refined and gentlemanly with his expensive suit compared to Antonio’s casual jeans and button down shirt. Despite his jealousy, Antonio accepted what was happening in front of him.

David was undressing his woman with his squinty eyes. “Evening sir.” He replied, wanting to pull Janet away from him, but he only grabbed her hand with a smile. Antonio took a step back as the man walked right in between them, clearly cock blocking. More tension sizzled between all three of them as if David could sense her arousal.

“Janet, you are looking just as sweet as always.” Janet put on a fake smile as he kissed her knuckles. Antonio’s eyes unintentionally rolled as he looked away with his arms folded as he tried to hold in his comments. This guy was clearly trying to make him jealous, but little did David know he was just small fish to fry.

“David, may you please wait for me I have some business to discuss with Officer Williamson.” David frowned, but turned to Antonio, who lifted his eyebrows in response tilting his head forwards to demand David to leave without words.

“Officer huh? You not in your uniform.”

Antonio’s arms tightened showing his bulging biceps. “It’s none of your business. Janet, I will be waiting in the conference room.”

He walked off unfolding his arms leaving her eyes following behind him. David saw and his emotions grew instantly. “He a client or something?” Janet turned back to him.

“No.” she responded.

He is much more than that. Her thoughts stunned her even though she knew the truth already. Her eyes looked down at her feet, wishing and wondering if this was a chance to make things right between them. Did she even want to make things right?

“Please just give me one minute okay?” She began walking off to Antonio without David’s reply. She didn’t need one. She knew he would be sitting there waiting for her no matter how long it took. She hurried to him, quickly opening the door, to realize they were now alone.

The air suddenly became thick around both of them as they stared at each other from across the conference room. “I apologize for David. He can get a bit possessive over his time.”

Antonio scoffed. “His time or you? I see the way he looks at you. Like he owns you or something.”

Janet couldn’t argue with that. David was one of her obsessed clients, one of many though; Janet had to learn how to handle over the year. Despite his attitude David was one of her highest paying clients. His obsession was now money in her pocket. She couldn’t deny that.

“He is paying for his time so our time will be short.”

Antonio walked over to her needing the closeness. His hand slightly touched her exposed arm giving her chills down her spine. It was a test to see if she still reacted to him as she use to and Antonio was pleased. She grabbed his hand placing it by his side. The fire between them still there ready to erupt at any given moment as their hands burned from passion. It was a good thing they both had control.

“Why are you here Antonio?” She asked for maybe the thirtieth time, but did she really care? He was right in front of her. She couldn’t complain. Her eyes had to stop looking into his as she turned away shyly, holding her arms as if she was cold, but she was really on fire.

“I am actually on a case. The Strangler case to be exact. Our evidence has led us to believe he has an alias and that he spends a good amount of his money to you.”

The words all came out in one breathe as he watched her reaction. Her eyes widened with shock. Her head snapped up as she looked at him terrified.

“That notorious killer that choked and raped over twenty women just this year?” Antonio nodded. “And you traced his money back to me?” He nodded again as she tried to gain some understanding. She had to pull up a chair with the thoughts of her being in the same room with a killer again. The company was just gaining it’s rep back from Frank and Wilson.

“I need your help and I think you may need mines. I have to stay here until the killer is found. I can go undercover as your bodyguard. We can track each client through your finance records and possibly trace it back to the Strangler.”

She was quiet for a moment as her mind had to process what was happening. Another serial killer in their city so close to her again was starting to get old and frustrating. After awhile one must start to wonder if that was also part of their curse.

“I’ve had sex with the killer?”

Antonio placed his hand on her shoulder. “Don’t feel afraid. If he hasn’t hurt you by now he won’t. Besides you never know who your clients are. No time to get afraid now.” He made a great point. Her clients could all be sick in the head. She stood to face him with a serious look.

“So you will be staying here?”

The Strangler was the last thing on her mind now. Antonio staying with her twenty four hours of the day would be nerve wrecking especially while she worked. Imagining him outside the door while some other guy rammed inside her would boggle her mind. Antonio shrugged.

“Would that be a problem?” He asked, sarcastically. She held her hand up.

“I’m more than happy to cooperate with the police. Staying with me is the issue. You can’t stay at a hotel anywhere?”

“With the killer so close I would have to monitor the situation closely.” He took a step to her as he placed a small emphasis on closely. “Besides these were Fairchild’s orders not mines.”

“I’m not sure why, but if you must we need to establish some ground rules.” She took some steps away from him as she held her hand up to push him away from her. His scent was enveloping her and his sexiness was beginning to take over her body as she wanted to lose control she couldn’t afford to lose.

Antonio nodded agreeing, holding his hands up in surrender. “Fine. I agree. What are your terms?”

“We can discuss this further later tonight if that is okay with you. Rock can help you with anything you may need and show you where you will be sleeping. I had a previous engagement tonight, but I know how important this is to you so I will have dinner with you tonight.” She held her hands up to reiterate turning it into a pointy finger to get her point across. “Only business. Nothing more.”

Antonio shook his head with a smirk. “Why would it be any more than that?”

“I just don’t want any old feelings rising especially since you are involved with someone right.” Janet spat her name. “Julissa.”

“What…why would you..?”

“I know you still are dating. She reminds me every time she pops up at any of my social events. Your blogger bitch needs to stay in her lane.”

She crossed her arms with much attitude thinking of the hell Julissa had caused over the year. The woman surely had her claws and fangs sat on ruining her life. Something she couldn’t tolerate needing another enemy to hate them and fight them because Janet was extremely tired. The last thing she needed was her love interest, staying in her home, bringing more drama to the already complicated world she lived in.

“Julissa has nothing to do with…”

She held up her hands to stop him. “I don’t care if you talk to her. Just keep her away from here please.” She looked out the conference room to the impatient David.

“I have to go.” She said.

“We can talk about this more later over dinner.” He held his hands out to shake her hand to seal the deal. She accepted and they clashed hands as they agreed on this new partnership. Antonio’s hold wavered a little more than normal as they both stared at each other speaking some underlying love for each other that neither one would say out loud.
