Chapter 45: Dream Come True

Damien's POV

I stared at the phone screen with my father's name flashing on it, and I knew I had just started a war—one I didn't know how it would end. I stared at Ariana's face. I still don't know why I chose her, but I do know my attraction towards her was not ordinary. I have a bond with her.

Whatever comes my way because of this decision, I will face it head-on. I thought and moved my thumb to the answer key, but the call dropped before I could press it.

I decided to call him back after I am done taking care of Ariana. We were still a couple of minutes' drive away from the hospital. With this decision, I decided to put the phone away, but it started ringing again. I answered it.

"Hello, Dad," I greeted, my voice lacking emotion.

"Damien, what is this I am hearing?" Alpha Leo began, yelling into the phone.

"What did you hear, father?" I asked, sounding very calm, like nothing had happened.

"You married your surrogate?" Alpha Leo questioned, his voice laced with anger, as he yelled into the phone.

"Yes," I accepted, even though I didn't know how the marriage happened.

"Damien, do you have any idea what you have done?" Alpha Leo queried, but I remained silent, holding the phone to my ears. "You just gave Demitri a reason to start an unending war," he said. "You know, you are the cause of his mother's death. And had your mother not drugged and slept with me, I would have married Demetri's mother, and what you have today, because of your mother's powerful family, would have been for Demetri. You already know this. I don't blame you for being in the wrong place. I am trying to help you fix this, and look at what you are doing," I heard my father say.

"You always speak like you hated the guts of my mother, yet you had three more children in addition to me. Did she drug you for that?" I asked.

"Shut up, Damien. This should be the last time you ask me such a nonsensical question," I heard Alpha Leo say on the call. "Now, listen and listen good. I would not sit and watch you destroy the whole family. You killed Demitri's mother, as well as your mother. I will calm Victoria, so she keeps this between us and not a word to Demitri. You will get rid of that surrogate and the child. Victoria is ready to bear a child for you. You do not need that surrogate any more. Start the divorce proceedings immediately after the six months have passed. Do you hear me?" I heard Alpha Leo say, and I stared at Ariana's face briefly.

"And if I don't," I asked, even though what my father said was just a reminder of how my mother died and even though it was no fault of mine, Demitri's mother died at my hands.

"Then you give me no choice but to cut you off as my son. I would publicly acknowledge Demitri as my son and help him take over the presidential seat," I heard my father threaten.

Was it worth risking my position, authority, riches and power over this girl, whom I don't know much about? I thought.

"Damien, I need to hear you respond," I heard my father say.

"Yes, father," I chickened out and gulped.

"Good," Alpha Leo said and ended the call.

"Close the divide," I said to the guard at the front.

"Yes, alpha," he replied and immediately closed the divide.

"I don't know much about you, but I know I want you to be mine. I can't let you go, but for the sake of peace ...........," I said and paused, as pain filled my heart.

The thought of letting her go breaks my heart. I was not sure what was happening, but I knew I didn't want her to go. I lowered my head and kissed her in her unconscious state.

"I love you," the words came out of my lips unconsciously, and I was astonished.

What did I just say? I thought, staring at her face, still astonished by my statement.

I have never said those words to Victoria or anyone in my family. I am always cold as ice. My dealings can be harsh to ruthless. How did she effortlessly get me to speak those words? I thought, staring at Ariana's face, confused.

"Who are you, Ariana, and what have you done to me?" I whispered on my lips.

I felt the car stop, and I shifted my gaze to the window. We have arrived at the hospital. I heard a knock on the car divider, drawing my attention to it. The door to my side was quickly opened by the guard, and I got down first.

"Get Dr Francis and bring him up to my office," I said to the guard, who had opened the door for me, and he quickly left.

I carried Ariana out of the car and headed for my private elevator, with the second guard following me. The guard pressed it for me and selected my floor, but didn't enter with me. I stood inside the elevator, carrying Ariana in my arms. The door opened and I stepped out. I walked towards my office. The guard came up the staircase. He hurried to the door and unlocked it, holding the door open for me.

He entered right after me and hurried to the bedroom door. He opened it and held it open for me. I entered and walked to the bed. I lay Ariana on the bed. I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in," I invited, and Dr Francis entered.

He hurried to Ariana's side. I made way for him to check on her. After his examination, he turned to me.

"It appears she passed out, out of exhaustion. What happened, if I may ask?" Dr Francis asked, staring at my unwelcoming face.

"Some people beat her up," I reported.

"Oh mine!" Dr Francis reacted. "This is not good. She is a human carrying an Alpha pup. The pup is already draining her. She could slip into a coma or die," he said.

"What can we do to help her?" I asked.

"We need to give her your blood. An alpha blood running through her would help her. She is strangely strong for a human, but we still need to give her your blood," Dr Francis advised.

"Fine, let's do it," I acknowledged.

I was not going to terminate the pregnancy even though I had made up my mind to let her go. I decided I was going to move her out of the mansion to a safe place. She is two weeks gone, and if she is doing 63 days, then she will have this child in 49 days, but if she is doing 280 days because she is human, I know she will give birth after 266 days. Now, only time will tell if she is doing 49 days or 266 days.

"Yes, Alpha," Dr Francis replied.

"Her back is sore," I informed him.

"I will take care of that right away," Dr Francis said.

"Turn around first," I said to Dr Francis, and he obeyed.

I carefully flipped Ariana over to lie on her belly and removed my jacket. I unhooked her bra, which was stained with blood, and covered her waist down with my jacket.

"You can turn around now," I said, and Dr Francis did.

I could read the shock on his face. Ariana's back looked nasty. He went to the bathroom and returned with a towel and called for a nurse to bring him a bowl.

He filled the bowl with warm water. He poured something into the water and cleaned her back with it. I stood there watching. When he got to her lower back, and cleaned it. I saw something.

"Is that a tattoo?" I asked.

"What, my alpha?" Dr Francis asked.

"What is that on her waist?" I asked, wondering if it was a cane mark.

"It looks like some kind of birthmark, even though the cane tearing her back has messed it up, I believe it's a birthmark. It does look like a leaf," Dr Francis replied after carefully looking at it.

My mind quickly went to the dream I had. The girl was lying in the garden with a bruised back. I took a step back and stared at Ariana. Ariana was lying down the same way, her hair, and the bruises sustained from the cane on her back and the leaf. The scene looked the same as the one in my dream, except Ariana is lying on a bed and not on grass.

"Check again, does that mark look like three olive leaves put together?" I asked.

Dr Francis picked a magnifying glass from his box and looked at it.

"Yes, Alpha," he replied, after checking.

She is my mate? I thought, my eyes widened, but still wondering why the moon goddess would give me a human for a mate.

Jeremy's POV"Would you take me back, knowing I am carrying Alpha Damien's child?" Ariana asked me, and I stared at her, wondering what she took me for. This girl must think I am stupid. She wants me to take her back. I thought. But come to think of it, why would she say Alpha Damien is responsible? I thought, but it quickly hit me. There was no way I could confirm her story. Wow! Ariana, you are smart with your lies. I thought, but I kept a straight face. I will play along till I get her in my bed."You are my woman, and I still love you," I said. "My only problem is, it's Alpha Damien we are talking about. How do I hide you from him?" I asked, trying to see if she had already planned a way to escape, whoever the father of the child she is carrying is. She went silent. I patiently waited, believing she was thinking of something."Jeremy, I think, it's too late for us. I had thought we could get back together. But he always finds me. It doesn't matter where I am. He finds me. I don't

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 56: It's Too Late - Part 1

Jeremy's POVI was still mad at Ariana for cheating on me, but seeing her again, I wish I had never married Melody. It's only been four days since I started working in the company, and I have had the opportunity to see Ariana twice. She looked more beautiful than before. Even though I wished I had never married Melody, there was nothing I could do about it. She was already six weeks pregnant, and I am responsible. That mistake I made six weeks ago, allowing my desire to take the better of me.This was all Ariana's fault. If she had allowed me to touch her, instead of playing Virgin Mary, waiting to be married before, I wouldn't have yielded to Melody's seduction. That day, I was horny. I went to Ariana, and she was not ready. I left the apartment to cool off at a nearby club, and that was when I ran into Melody. I had always known, Melody's fight with Ariana was just because she liked me, but I was with Ariana. Melody did attempt to drug me, but I saw it, so I didn't take that drink

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 55: Do You Have a Death Wish?

Ariana's POV"Damien, you can't take away a girl's virginity and expect another man to accept her like that. If you didn't want to marry her, you should have kept your pants zipped up," I heard Alpha Leo say, and I stared at Victoria, sitting directly opposite us, looking all pitiful."Damien, at first, I wanted to be with you because I like you, but I realised you didn't, so I decided to keep my distance, waiting to see if you like me for me or because of the mate bond. That was why I was mostly not around," I heard Victoria say. "I am sorry for everything I did, I only did them because I loved you. That night, I came into your room after reflecting on what you told me. I wanted to inform you that I was going back home, but you grabbed me and wouldn't let go. I may be in the entertainment industry, but I kept myself away from men. Now, you have taken that away from me," she ended her statement in tears. My heart went out to her. I shifted my gaze to Damien, only to find him rolling h

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 54: You Must Take Responsibility

Ariana's POVDamien's proposal left me shocked. Everything was happening so fast, I really couldn't understand. Yes, I liked him when I first saw him, but now, it's like he suddenly cares about me, not because of the pregnancy. And I don't know what kind of cologne he is using now, but I believe it has an aphrodisiac effect. I have never felt this before, to the extent that I can't even control myself. What does he want from me? I thought as we exited the room. What is all this about? I thought. He wouldn't let go of my hand, and it was like he didn't care who saw us walking hand in hand like lovers. With my thoughts trying to figure out what was happening to me, my desires were kept at bay, and I felt normal. We were soon outside, and I wanted to go to the SUV, but he pulled me towards his car, opened the door for me, and I got inside, still wondering what was happening. Inside the car, sitting so close to him, the feeling started again. His scent was so comforting, yet it aroused

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 53: I would Gladly Step Down

Damien's POVI lay on the bed with Ariana sleeping in my arms. I have never felt this way about a woman before. I felt complete with her. She was truly my mate. I stared at the cane injuries on her back and remembered something my mom told me when I was 13 years old. She told me there are healers in her family line. It comes as a blessing, and one lucky child becomes a healer. It sounded so fascinating. An ability to heal others. It was an ability I yearned for. Not because I wanted to be special, but because of my human best friend, Jayson. We met in school. He was always sick. He spends half a day in school and the rest of the day in the hospital. He was unable to participate in any school activities because he would end up having episodes and end up in the hospital. I wanted to be a healer so that I could heal him. I felt so sad when I saw him sitting all alone during fun games. Sometimes, I stop playing and just sit by him, so he won't feel left out. My mom had told me I was a sp

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 52: Unexpected Proposal

Ariana's POVI opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was the ceiling. I shifted my gaze to the side and realised I was alone in bed. I dragged myself into a sitting position, rubbing my eyes. While rubbing my eyes, I recalled the events of the previous night. My attempted escape, the huge beast that caught me mid-air, Damien's confession, the passionate kisses, and finally sleeping in Damien's arms. My eyes scanned the entire room for anything that would prove Damien was here or that he was still around, but I found nothing. My eyes fell on a covered tray sitting on the table. Surprisingly, I felt better and stronger. I looked down at myself, and I was still in the patient gown with my back exposed. I reached for my back and I didn't feel any pain, like before. To get a confirmation of how my back looked now, I got out of bed and walked to the standing mirror in the room. I looked at my back, and the wounds had healed. All that was left were scars. I stared at my back in total sh
