Rory looked frightened, barely breathing as the patrol officer’s hand tapped his shoulder.

He slowly turned, his hands felt frozen, his heart slamming in his chest.

Van Gav and Scar also turned around, pushing their mugs out of the way on the table. Their faces looked as surprised as his, and they looked at the patrol officer silently.

The patrol officer, Ryk, stood there, his eyes on them.

“Are you three the owners of that van outside?” he said, his hand resting on his silver sword on his hips.

Rory slowly shook his head, his eyes moving to Van Gav, whose hands were shaking.

“Van?” he muttered, shaking his head slowly and nervously, thinking they were caught, and Luna’s kidnapping would be pinned on them.

He began to think if anyone had reported seeing their van.

What if it were Maggie? Or Maya?

The three of them looked at each other like they were thinking the same thing.

“What van?” He asked again.

Van Gav slowly moved forward, making the patrol officer look away from Rory and l

Meanwhile…. The council room of Moonclaw was a large room with high ceilings, supported by ancient wooden pillars carved with images of past alphas. Fire torches were placed on a line in the stone walls that led to the room. Patrol officers were standing guard by the door, signifying the confidentiality of the meeting that was about to be held. The whole room smelled of the smell of old wood and candle wax. The room was filled with tension as the gathered elders all took their seats, looking at each other tensely. They all sat in high red chairs, and the golden chair at the head of the table that belonged to Callum was empty. They all looked worried, their faces filled with worry and suspicion, they looked at each other and began murmuring as they waited for the meeting to start. Moonclaw was in chaos, Callum, their alpha, was still hospitalized, rumors of him losing his memory had begun to spread all around Moonclaw and the neighboring cities and now they feared the threat

  • The Chosen Mate Of The Lycan King   Chapter 72

The healer’s sentence was stuck in Keira’s mind as she followed her through the darkish hallway, dragging her worn-out legs and forcing herself to keep up with the woman’s pace.“Callum’s awake.” The sentence should have been a lifeline, a sentence of hope after the nightmare at Rogue Island, but whenever she remembered everything, Asher’s death, her parents’ accusations, the weird power of the rare wolf still boiling under her skin, made each step feel heavier than the last. The whole hallway smelt of healing herbs and candle wax. She looked around, wondering why there were so many lanterns instead of normal lights. Too tired to ask the woman, she just followed her silently instead. The healer, a woman with long gray hair and kind but tired eyes, stopped outside a large wooden door. “He’s weak,” she said, her voice gentle and serious. “The silver dagger and the witch’s tranquilizer did more damage than we expected.” She said.“He’s stable, but… don’t push him.” She said.“He nee

The healer’s building smelt of herbs and smoke, a type of smell that stuck to the back of Keira’s throat. The waiting room was small, cold, and empty, except for a few small lanterns that left long shadows. Keira sat on a hard wooden bench, her hands held together tightly in her lap, her hands were still stained with Callum’s blood despite her attempts to scrub them clean. Her clothes were tattered and stained with red, she looked down and depressed, she could barely speak, and everything she had been through in the past few days was weighing her down. Her heart pounded, each beat was filled with pure pain and fear for Callum, she still felt guilty over Asher, and she didn’t know what to do with the raw power of the sacred wolf that was now awake inside her. She sighed as she forced herself not to listen to the muffled chants of the healers through the closed door to the surgery room, their voices got louder and louder as they spat out charms meant to mend Callum’s wounds.

Silence. The throne room was silent.Everyone is silent. The room was filled with the stench of blood and burned herbs. The shattered windows let in gusts of cold wind, rattling the almost dead candle lights and leaving horrific shadows across the stone walls. Keira’s massive white wolf stood at the center of the room, her fur shining like moonlight, her golden eyes filled with anger that seemed to be in her control. She slowly took a deep breath, blood dripping from her jaws, her claws stained red from Asher’s lifeless body at her feet. The rare wolf was awake, and its power was undeniable.Isabel, still in her human form, stood silently watching, her black robe glued to her sweaty skin. Her silver dagger lay on the floor, her eyes fixed on Asher’s dead body. His blood slowly forming a pool under him, seeping into the cracks of the stone, his lifeless eyes staring blankly at the ceiling. Isabel shook her head and began to laugh mockingly.“Pathetic,” she hissed, lips curling in

The room stood still. The guards stood silently, their hands shaking, their eyes filled with fear, their spears and other weapons were useless against the two beasts. The ancient witch burst out laughing, a long dry laughter that sounded like she was choking on something instead. She smiled, her eyes looking like she was enjoying every second of this, pure delight. Her snak

  • The Chosen Mate Of The Lycan King   Chapter 68

The whole throne room was silent, the guards watching in shock as the witch levitated in the air, her body twitching wildly, her hair flying, while screaming, Keira screaming with her, as the witch’s old hands stood over Keira. Her bony fingers twitched as she weaved invisible threads of dark magic that made the whole room hold their breaths while watching.Keira’s wrists which were still tied jerked upward as if she were being pulled by an unseen string. She looked around in horror, her chest breathing with panic, as her hands moved against her will. The witch’s eyes were filled with that eerie reddish glow, her lips curling into a crooked smile as she began to mutter ancient words under her breath. The snake at her feet hissed, it seemed like it was sliding along to the rhythm of her chant.Keira’s eyes moved to the dagger now resting in her shaky hands. The blade was so sharp, she wondered what had been used in sharpening it.Her heart pounded so hard it felt like it might bur
