POV: Callum Miller

The sound of my own ragged, uneven breathing echoed off the garage’s concrete walls, sounding far too loud in the heavy, oil-scented silence.

Gideon’s massive hand remained clamped over my left hip, his heavy fingers digging through the soft denim of my jeans and locking me flush against the thick wooden workbench. His towering shadow completely engulfed me. Every inch of my skin burned where his physical presence pressed against mine, hot and unyielding.

My heart hammered against my ribs like a trapped bird. My mind was still spinning in a chaotic, feverish haze from his whispered admission—the voice, the words, the terrifying and intoxicating confirmation that Captain Gideon Sterling was indeed Commander.

"Look at me, Callum," Gideon rumbled.

His voice didn't carry the polite, distant tone he used when speaking to my father across the dinner table. It was the low, gravelly baritone that had commanded me through encrypted audio files for weeks, thick with absolute authority.

I couldn't do it. My gaze stayed firmly pinned to the dark fabric of his tactical t-shirt, my eyelashes fluttering as tears of sheer sensory overload threatened to spill over. My hands were still hooked helplessly into the sides of his shirt, my knuckles trembling.

"Callum," he repeated, lower this time, a dark warning threading through the syllable. "Chin up. Look me dead in the eyes."

The command hit my nervous system like a direct electric current.

My submissive instincts, honed over weeks of private submission behind a glowing screen, answered before my conscious brain could form a protest. I swallowed hard, my chin tilting up slowly until my hazel eyes met his storm-gray gaze.

Up close, his face was carved from rough, uncompromising stone. His jaw was dark with morning stubble, his dark brows pulled low, and his eyes burned with a fierce, calculating intensity that made my knees feel dangerously soft.

"That's it," Gideon murmured, his thumb rubbing a slow, heavy circle through my shirt into the soft flesh of my waist. "When I give you a direct order in person, you execute it instantly. No hesitating. No hiding."

"Y-yes, Captain," I breathed, my chest heaving as I struggled to pull oxygen into my starved lungs.

"Now," Gideon continued, his eyes dropping briefly to the high, buttoned collar of my dark long-sleeve shirt before rising back to mine. "Unbutton your collar. I want to see your throat."

My breath hitched. The air in the garage felt suffocatingly warm.

Trembling violently, I lifted my right hand away from his waist. My fingers were shaking so badly I could barely align them with the small plastic button at the base of my neck. I fumbled uselessly against the stiff fabric for two long, humiliating seconds, my pulse throbbing frantically right beneath the skin.

"Don't rush," Gideon instructed smoothly, his voice a steady, grounding anchor in the middle of my internal storm. "Take your time. Do it right."

I forced a long, shuddering breath out through my mouth, steadying my fingertips just enough to pop the first button free. I moved down to the second, slipping it from its loop and parting the dark fabric. The cool, damp garage air hit my exposed throat and upper chest, making a sharp shiver ripple down my spine.

"Good," Gideon rumbled, his gray eyes darkening as they tracked the exposed length of my throat. "Look back at me."

I snapped my gaze straight back to his, my lower lip trembling violently.

"You've been very brave online, sweet boy," Gideon said softly, his voice dropping into that smooth, velvety register that always made my core ache. "Sending me your secrets. Asking me to put a collar on your mind. But typing words behind a screen is easy. Standing in front of me, looking me in the eye while I claim your submission... that takes real obedience."

"I... I want to obey you, sir," the confession spilled out of my mouth before I could filter it, raw and completely unguarded. "I've... I've wanted it so badly."

A faint, dangerous smirk touched the corner of Gideon's mouth, lasting for only a fraction of a second before his expression returned to a mask of immovable, military dominance.

He lifted his left hand off the workbench behind me. Slowly, deliberately, he brought his heavy hand up between our faces. His fingers were thick, calloused, and smelled faint of pine soap and motor oil.

He brought his heavy thumb to my mouth, pressing it firmly against the middle of my lower lip.

The pressure was solid, dominant, and possessive. He dragged his thumb slowly across the soft surface of my lip, forcing my mouth to part slightly, capturing my shallow breaths against his skin.

My eyes fluttered shut for a second as a wave of pure, liquid heat surged straight down into my lower belly, my wet thighs pressing tightly together under my jeans. I let out a soft, pathetic whimpering sigh directly against his thumb.

"Such a good, sweet boy," Gideon praised softly, the low vibration of his voice vibrating in his chest. "Look at how easily you melt the second my hand touches you."

He pressed his thumb a fraction harder against my lip, holding me pinned under his gaze for three agonizingly perfect seconds, letting the praise sink deep into my blood.

"You're going to be so exceptionally good for me under this roof, Callum," he rumbled. "Every command I give you—online or in person—you will follow without question. You are mine to guide, mine to discipline, and mine to keep. Understand?"

"Yes, Commander," I whispered against his thumb, my mind entirely shattered, my dynamic with him sealed forever in the quiet shadows of the workshop. "I'm yours."

Gideon held my gaze for one final, intense moment, his gray eyes searching every corner of my wide, submissive expression.

Slowly, smoothly, he drew his thumb away from my lip, leaving the skin feeling hot, tingling, and marked. He eased his heavy grip off my waist, stepping back just enough to break our flush contact and give me room to breathe.

The sudden loss of his heat made me feel instantly cold and dizzy, my legs swaying slightly as I leaned back against the workbench for support.

Gideon picked up the heavy black socket set from the bench next to me as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred. He held the tool case casually in one hand, his posture returning to that of the composed, formidable contractor.

"Take a minute to fix your shirt and catch your breath," Gideon commanded calmly, his voice smooth and neutral as he turned toward the unlocked side door. "Then get back inside before your father starts wondering why a simple errand took so long."

"Y-yes, Captain," I choked out, clutching my unbuttoned collar with a trembling hand.

Gideon opened the door, stepping out into the cool afternoon drizzle without looking back.

I slid down against the edge of the workbench until my knees hit the concrete floor, my chest heaving as I dragged in long, desperate gasps of cold air, my whole body shaking from the absolute, irrevocable truth of what had just begun.

I had barely gathered my wits, dried my hair, and pulled on a fresh button-down shirt before the front doorbell chimed, signaling an arrival that shifted the atmosphere of the entire estate.Downstairs in the formal dining room, the heavy mahogany table was set for four. Harlan sat at the head, looking immensely pleased with himself, while Kaelen Vance occupied the seat directly across from me. Kaelen was twenty-four, impeccably styled, and dripping with the casual arrogance of old local money. His family held major investments with my father’s firm, making him a frequent, uninvited presence whenever business crossed into social obligations.Gideon sat to my left, imposing and immaculate in a dark fitted sweater. But before I could even catch my breath, my father had summoned us both down to the lower level. Harlan stood at the foot of the stairs in his rolled-up sleeves, leaning against the doorframe with a mug of coffee in his hand, watching me with a critical eye."Look at you, Callum. You're pale, fidgety, and slouched over like a leaf," Harlan said, shaking his head with a stern sigh. "Living on campus has made you soft. Every inch of my skin felt flushed, buzzing with a volatile mix of leftover jealousy, humiliated possessiveness, and the agonizing physical ache Gideon had built inside me since midnight.I couldn't stand being out in the open hallway where Harlan might walk by. I needed darkness, quiet, and a place to collect my shattered composure.I slipped into my father’s private study, retreating into the cool shadow of the floor-to-ceiling mahogany bookshelves. The room smelled of old leather bound volumes, polished walnut, and pipe tobacco.
