Chapter 4:

I was terrified. When I was a kid to see a shark in the Atlantic, or a wildebeest migrating into a lion's territory. None of this frightened me, but now I was curled up in the corner of the stern, trembling uncontrollably. Not just me. Elise's upset, too. She gripped the handle of the gun tightly. If anything goes wrong, she'll pull the trigger and sweep the water.

He seemed to go back into the deep water, where large bubbles began to small bubbles on the side of the boat.

"Oh, there he is," said Alice with a smile and pulled the trigger, "Be quiet, baby."

As soon as her voice fell, the lake immediately a large number of sprays. It's like an animal struggling in the water. Then the creature slowly floated up.

Alice smiles more happily. She reached out and grabbed the creature from the water, pulling it out. When she saw the creature she had caught, her face suddenly changed. Its long body is covered with livid scales and its mouth is full of sharp teeth, which means the creature is a common fish called alligator gar. The average size of this fish is about 2 meters, and the longest can reach 3 meters, but this one has reached 4 meters.

“shit!!” Alice cursed and flung the fish back into the lake.

It suddenly dawned on me that we could be dealing with a very cunning man.

“What are we standing there for? Hurry Up!” Alice and three others circled in the boat I could see her gun-wielding hands shaking. However, the lake is incredibly calm at the moment, just like the scene of boiling water as if it was just my illusion.

"Pull back now! Things are getting serious. Alice shouted and beat one of the men on the back with the back of her gun, urging him on."

The more anxious, the more things do not go in the direction of the imagination. The two of them, who were well-trained, were in a panic. The oars that were sliding in the water formed a forward-and-backward trend, and the boat spun clockwise on the surface of the water.

"You two idiots." Alice pushed them away and lifted the plank from the stern, revealing what was underneath. I used to sail the ocean with my father, so I knew right away what was a small engine under the plank. She opened the engine flap, pulled a string from it, and yanked hard.

With the sound of 'Tut-tut', a cloud of black smoke came out of the hood. Em…it was broken.

"My Goodness!" Alice hugged her head, “Oars! oars! Yes, oars! Let's go back!”

The oars, long gone with the waves, seemed to silently laugh at her ignorance.

Alice knelt right in the middle of the boat.

I looked at the people, and the fear that had The Hours I before had slipped away. I decided to say something to cheer everyone up. My calf began to cramp as I curled up for a long time. I rubbed my calf and put my other hand on the side of the boat to support myself as I slowly got up from the boat.

The next second, I didn't move. Something wet and slippery is touching my hand.

There was more fear in my body than not long ago, and it took almost all of my strength to stop myself from screaming. I know, as long as I call out, it's really over. Humans in extreme fear of the situation will gradually calm down.

I found that while my heart was racing, my brain was thinking clearly about what to do next. I looked up at Alice and made a face to indicate that she was looking this way. This strong woman, however, seemed to have fallen into some terrible delusion and murmured to herself as she hugged herself tightly.

The other three are no better off.

I know I'm on my own now. The gun that Alice kicked aside in his panic was not far from me. I kept my hand on the side of the boat and tried to straighten my legs and pick up the gun on my toes.

You can do this, Cara. I pumped up for myself from my heart, closed my eyes, and turned around quickly. That must have been the fastest time of my life. Turn and pull the trigger. In one fell swoop. But god played a trick on me. They had all the guns safety off, except for this one in my hand. 'click', is the sound of empty guns.

Help! I wailed in my heart, opened my eyes, and froze.

A human face lay before me. It was a face that was almost at the height of human beauty, and in some of my vocabulary, I could not find the right words to describe it.

The owner of this face was looking at me in a daze, like a Jaguar with a dolphin in front of it. He looked at me with a curious look. I was suddenly a little glad that the gun was the safety on, "Hey..." After the export, I began to chagrin about my own recklessness. I'm not sure exactly what level of intelligence he has, or if there's a high-level language center that understands what the word means.

He tilted his head, the long hair resting on his bare shoulders.

It's really hard to imagine that the creature that made such a big noise just now could be such a human-like species. He looks like a human toddler just waking up from sleep. He watched me for a while, and then I felt the moisture fade from my hands, and a black, scaly object appeared before my eyes. It has four branches, like a monitor lizard's claw, but the center is covered with a thin layer of transparent flesh. I think it should be his hand, a kind of reptilian as well as fish characteristics of the 'hand'.

"Fantastic, isn't it?" The sound from behind interrupted my observation. I looked back and saw Alice, who had regained her senses, staring at the creature in front of me with an intense gaze, one that, even if it did not land on me, I could feel in it an amazing sense of desire, sticky glue together to eat it alive.

"It's a synthesis of almost everything good about advanced biology."
