Chapter 2 The Vow Of A Grieving Mother

Aiden's intense gaze locked onto the doctor, refusing to waver. The doctor, overwhelmed with regret for his ill-chosen words, simply yearned for the opportunity to escape this man's presence. After all, he was only carrying out his duties. But why did this man stare at him with such piercing intensity, as if he had uttered the gravest of secrets?

With his hands still tucked into his pockets, Aiden moved slowly towards the doctor, causing his legs to tremble uncontrollably with each step. The pounding in the doctor's chest felt like the prick of a needle, threatening to pierce his heart at any moment.

"M... Mr... Aiden," the doctor stuttered, attempting to form words, but before he could finish his sentence, Aiden's grip tightened around his neck.

"How much did she bribe you?" Aiden demanded, his fingers constricting around the doctor's throat.

"Cough, cough... She didn't bribe me," the doctor managed to gasp, his words strained and his eyes bulging.

Just then, Emine's weak and trembling voice pleaded with Aiden, urging him to release the doctor. She was exhausted, worn down by endless tears and supplication. She had heard rumors of Aiden's ruthlessness, but she had never imagined he could be devoid of compassion.

"Aiden, I swear on my life that I didn't bribe him. Please, let him go," Emine implored, her voice filled with desperation.

Aiden relinquished his grip on the doctor and approached Emine, staring at her with disgust. "Huh, your pitiful existence. Why would you swear on it?" he sneered. Pausing for a moment, he reached for a scalpel on the nearby table and glided it from her chin to her throat, his words chillingly colder than an ice block. "Let me make one thing clear, Emine. I don't care less about your miserable life. You will terminate this pregnancy, and that's final." Aiden's words shattered Emine's heart, leaving it in pieces like a broken mirror.

"I truly didn't do it. Can't you at least believe me?" Emine pleaded, clasping her hands together as tears streamed down her cheeks. Her pale lips quivered, struggling to find the right words.

Aiden scoffed as he gazed at her. "Really? Then prove to me and the world that you're innocent, and I'll set you free. If not, I'll chain your miserable body, even in death," he declared, his tone harsh and unforgiving.

"Alright, alright, I will prove it to you. Please, just spare my child," Emine whispered, nodding her head anxiously, resembling a frightened child.

"No, I don't want that bastard to live. I know you've slept with multiple men. I knew it from the very first day you abducted your sister and stole her husband," Aiden retorted coldly. "You and the baby will join her. But I don't want you to die a quick death. No, this punishment will be far worse. You will serve her as a slave, not even deserving to be called a servant."

His words were like a sharp knife, slicing through every fiber of Emine's being. They cut deeper than any physical wound ever could. "I swear I didn't kidnap her. I didn't kill her either! Aiden, you're wrong. I have never been with any other man but you," she cried out, mustering the last ounce of strength she had left.

"Shut up, you foolish woman! What are you waiting for? Let the surgery begin!" Aiden commanded, his voice filled with venom.

"Yes, sir," the doctor responded quietly, deciding it was best not to argue. He started the surgery, fearing for his own life.

Emine no longer pleaded. She realized that Aiden's heart was as cold as ice and that his mind was unchangeable. It was better to preserve her dwindling strength than to waste it on futile pleas.

"Dear Lord, please protect me and grant me a second chance," Emine silently prayed, her voice barely a whisper.

"My dear child, mother is sorry. I couldn't shield you, but if I survive, I promise to avenge your death. For now, I am too weak to fight for myself, but I, your mother, vow to grow strong if I am granted the chance. Please, forgive me," Emine tearfully pledged, her gaze shifting to her stomach, now cruelly split in two. Her eyes then turned to the man standing there, his expression devoid of any emotion. He regarded her as if watching a movie, indifferent to her suffering.

Her heart ached, consumed by a sorrow that bordered on death. She finally realized the true depths of his wickedness, his utter lack of compassion—a man who would kill his own child. She wondered if, one day, remorse would grip him.

Exhausted and drained, she refrained from screaming as the sharp knife sliced from her upper belly to her lower abdomen. As she witnessed her tiny baby being brought into the world, she felt the hollowness inside her grow.

Her world faded into a sky blue hue.

Her tears turned to glistening glass beads.

Her voice silenced into a mute cry.

Though some may call it a dream, she could never forget the hardening pain, the pitiful wail of a grieving mother. Her body numbed with agony, Emine closed her eyes tightly, clenching her teeth. The pain she endured was the most excruciating she had ever known. The greatest torment she had experienced is being trapped in an impossible love,

To love someone who can never be mine. The greatest torment she had experienced. Yes, she vowed not to cry. She refused to show him her weakness. She wouldn't allow the tears to flow. Emine was born to conquer.

Aiden scrutinized the woman before him, her mouth firmly sealed shut.

"Nora, you can finally rest in peace. I have avenged you. I haven't given your enemies a moment's respite, for they don't deserve it. We shall meet someday, and until then, rest in eternal serenity."

After the baby was carefully brought out from Emine's stomach, she glanced at the lifeless infant for a brief moment before closing her eyes, unwilling to witness it any longer.

"What are you doing?" Aiden's deep voice interrupted her thoughts.

"I'm treating her, Mr. Aiden. She needs medical attention; otherwise, she may not survive. She has lost a significant amount of blood. It's nothing short of a miracle that she's still alive," the doctor responded excitedly, relieved that his prayers seemed to have been answered.

"Don't bother. My men will take her to the same cemetery where Nora was laid to rest. She will accompany her. Someone who has shed innocent blood does not deserve any care," Aiden declared firmly.

"What do you mean, Aiden? Isn't this enough? Do you truly want me dead?" Emine cried out in anguish.

"No, it's not enough, and yes, I do want you dead. If you don't die at the cemetery, I'll personally end your life with my own hands. I have given you a chance, so pray for death and let it claim you swiftly," he replied harshly, shattering Emine's last shred of hope.

The trembling doctor silently swore to himself never to cross paths with this devilish king again.

"If I survive, I promise to make you pay tenfold for everything I've endured. Aiden, I will never forgive you. I will turn your life into a living hell," Emine declared with unwavering determination.
