I lost track of time since Renna was admitted to the hospital. I had briefly left to attend the funerals and meet my new pack members, but I remained by her side. Several days had passed, and still, she hadn’t regained consciousness. The only thing that kept me going was the reassuring thump of her heart, its steady rhythm providing a glimmer of hope amidst the despair.

I sat there, my stomach empty and my eyelids heavy from sleep deprivation. All I yearned for was her recovery. “I’m sorry I didn’t believe you love,” I pleaded, desperate for her forgiveness.
