I walked in while she was...

I didn’t like the way she looked at me when I told her she’d keep staying in Tasha’s old room. Her eyes dropped instantly, lips trembling as though she was about to cry again. That made it the third time this week, and for some reason, I couldn’t stand seeing her tears.

“But please, Alpha,” she said softly, hands clasped in front of her chest. “I don’t deserve that room. That room is sacred, it belonged to someone you loved deeply. I shouldn’t be there.”

I crossed my arms, standing in front of her by the doorway. The sun was slowly going down outside the window, and it cast this golden glow on her hair. She looked... like she didn’t belong here. And maybe that’s what made her belong to me more than anyone else ever had.

“You’re staying there until I say otherwise,” I said, firmly but not coldly. “And you don’t get to decide what you deserve.”

“But I…”

I raised a brow. She stopped talking immediately.

“You forget who you’re speaking to?”

“No, my lord,” she whispered, bowing qui

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   Public Humilation!

I knew I had to do something fast. Clarkson was dead, but I wanted more. Killing him meant I was now alone in this mess, and if I was going to finish what we started, I needed to get back on my brother’s good side. Kaidon wasn’t stupid. I needed to do the only thing I could… I went to him. Kaidon was in the council chamber, seated on his grand chair, surrounded by the councilmen—Elder Loin, and a few others I didn’t care to remember. They were all seated like stiff statues, their old faces lined with wisdom and judgment. I hated how quiet it got the moment I walked in. Kaidon didn’t look up immediately, just kept flipping through some parchment like I wasn’t standing right there. I cleared my throat. “Brother,” I said. Nothing. “Alpha Kaidon,” I tried again. He looked up then. Cold eyes. Unforgiving. “What do you want, Drake?” I swallowed. “I came to apologize. For… falsely accusing Lila. I acted in haste. I thought I was protecting the pack.” He scoffed. “You weren’t prot

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   He should have known!

I’d been searching for Clarkson like a madman. Ever since he turned his back on me and ran to Kaidon with that pathetic tale about Lila being innocent and alive, I knew I had to silence him… for good. But he had vanished, just like that. I checked his cottage in the woods. Nothing. Not even a scent trail. Smart bastard must have cloaked himself. But I wasn’t going to give up that easily. Not after everything we’d done together. Not after all the plans. He was my friend, my brother. I trusted him. And he stabbed me in the back. I headed into town and knocked on Tom’s door first. If anyone knew where he was, it was him. He opened up with that forced smile I hated so much. “Drake,” he said, “didn’t expect to see you here.” “Yeah? I’m full of surprises, I guess.” I crossed my arms. “Have you seen Clarkson?” His smile faltered just a bit. “Clarkson? No, I thought he left for Blue Hollow two days ago. Something about visiting a cousin or…” “Cut the crap,” I snapped. “You’re lying.”

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   The Necklace!

I remembered asking him, softly at first, but he didn't say anything. So I tried again. "Alpha Kaidon... I need to go to the maids’ quarters. Just for a minute.” He was sitting in that massive wooden chair like he owned the world… and maybe he did. He looked up at me with that same unreadable face he always wore when he was trying to figure me out. His blue eyes narrowed a little. “Why?” “There’s something I left behind,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady. He tilted his head, then looked away, like he didn’t want to deal with me. “What did you leave behind?” he asked, his tone hard. I paused. I could feel my fingers curling into my palms. “It’s a necklace,” I said. He looked back at me. “Just a necklace?” “Yes.” If only he knew it wasn't ‘just’ a necklace. He raised a brow. “And this necklace is that important to you?” I looked at the floor, then back at him. “Yes.” His eyes locked on mine. “Why?” I didn’t answer at first. “I asked you a question, Lila.” Still,

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   The Execution Ground

The noise was too much. Low murmurs, scattered arguments, whispers carried by the wind. Everyone was talking, and yet, no one really knew what was going on. That’s what fear did… it made people curious, made them restless. And when the summons had come out… "All able-bodied members of the Moonstone Pack must assemble at the execution ground immediately"... it had stirred something dark in their hearts. You’d think I had called them to prepare for war. But no, it was something much more delicate… much more dangerous… even though I knew they'd be shocked to find out it was about… Lila. I stood behind the tall iron gates, waiting. Watching. My guards, four of them, stood in a line beside me. I glanced at each of them once, and then at the chaos beyond the gates. The execution ground was crowded, shoulder to shoulder. Warriors, elders, women with their arms crossed over their chests, young men puffing out their chests like they understood war. They all looked uneasy, yet ready for

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   He f**king betrayed me!

I stood in front of Kaidon, trying hard not to look as confused as I felt. "One of the guards found her," he said calmly, hands behind his back, voice like cold steel. My heart skipped. What the hell was he talking about? "Found who?" I asked, even though I knew damn well who he meant. He narrowed his eyes at me like I had just asked him if the moon was real. "Lila." Lila? That wasn't possible. Clarkson said he killed her. Clarkson promised me she was dead. We agreed. No loose ends. He fucking told me he buried her. I swallowed, keeping my face straight. "Which of the guards found her?" I asked, voice a little too eager. I caught myself and took a breath. "I mean... just so we can make sure he's not lying." Kaidon raised one brow and tilted his head. "Why do you want to know that, Drake?" My chest tightened. I shouldn’t have asked that. "Just to be sure, Alpha. That's all. Can't take chances with traitors, can we? Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about." He didn
