Chapter 27

_Heyley’s POV_

I dropped to a squat before Batya, rubbing her am with my hands. My heart was pounding in my chest as I stared at her.

I had left Atlas house without letting him know and I turned my phone off. I knew he was going to call me but this was something I needed to do.

When I come back I'd tell him the entire truth., hopefully he would take me back after knowing my secrets. This was something I needed to do unfortunately.

Batya had asked me where we were going without Atlas but I didn't answer her question.

She didn't even get to say good bye to him and it made me feel bad.

What would she think of me after I tell her the truth? What would she think when I tell her that she wasn't my daughter and I had actually taken her from her real mother.

“Do you remember the story of the princess I told you about? The one that was taken for her safety? And the two sisters who wanted to be princesses but they were raised by a witch?” I asked her and she nodded.
