MasukCHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE:Azrael’s POV: “You think he’ll be okay?” Caspian asked, breaking the silence as I drove us up to the palace. “He looked worried as hell.”An annoyed sigh escaped me. “Of course he was worried. Why wouldn’t he be when you ran your big mouth about ‘problems we needed to tackle’” From my peripheral view, I could see his jaw drop dramatically, eyes widening..“Oh, so it’s my fault now?” He retorted. “You know damn well it is better to deal with this mess faster than let it linger. Like, yeah, you wouldn't be punished but the people would start talking if we let things get out of control.” I said nothing as I continued to focus on the road ahead. He was right though. Things could get out of control.People would talk. I know what this looked like; the heir to the throne killing alphas like they were bugs. The people would fear for their lives thinking it was worth so little. So it was better to give them an explanation earlier on, put their minds at ease, and do w
CHAPTER FIFTY-FOUR:Azrael’s POV: “What do you mean you can't find her?” Caspian sighed heavily. “I tried, okay? I don't understand it either, no one is allowed to leave the school but somehow, Rosita isn't in school—”“Her parents—”“She’s not there,” Izar jumped in. My chest felt heavy with a consuming rage that struggled to break free. It's been hours since we caught Annika, hours since the Grand Master discovered the bodies, and the whole school has been left shocked. Hours since we’ve been looking for Rosita. “I’m sure we’ll find her soon,” Izar reassured. “She can't just disappear into thin air, she's not that powerful and she has nowhere else to go apart from her home.”I scoffed. “You underestimate a girl like Rosita, brother.”And I think I may have underestimated her too.Not that I didn't know she could be mean or wicked, I just didn't think she'd go this far. I let myself get carried away and that almost cost Saphielle. “Look, we can continue the search for her later,
CHAPTER FIFTY-THREE:Saphielle’s POV: An expression I couldn't decipher crossed her face. “He… he said he had to take care of something last night and I've not seen him since.” She glanced quickly at her watch. “It’s almost five pm, he’ll be back soon. Hopefully.”She was still speaking when I began to remember how I'd managed to escape… First, I remember hearing a loud roar and being uncomfortably hot and restless. And then there were screams, Azrael’s face… bones cracking, stench of blood. My heart dropped to my stomach as the realization dawned on me.He… he killed them? He couldn't have killed people because of me, right? But why did the thought of it make my heart flutter? ‘No, idiot. It shouldn't flutter. He could be in trouble because of you. The alpha king could punish him and you'd be blamed!’Shit. Maybe he didn't kill them? Maybe he only hurt them enough to send a warning? Goddess, please let it be that he didn't kill them because then, even he wouldn't be able to escape
CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO:Azrael’s POV: It made no sense. This has never NOT worked on anyone. I pried her hands away but she was surprisingly strong. “Baby, hey, hey. You’ll hurt yourself,” I said softly, holding both of her wrists firmly as she tried to break free… she’s like an untamed animal, her scent growing stronger as she thrashed against me, whining loudly. “Azrael, please.” Her gaze locked with mine, her chest heaving. “Please, help me, this is unbearable. Please. I need you.” “We can’t do this when you’re clearly not yourself. I can’t take advantage of you, I can’t do that. You’ll hate me when you’re back to your senses.” And I couldn’t bear the thought of that.”She groaned, tears gathering in her eyes. “I want this! I’m letting you do this. This is unbearable for me, please, I need you. Fuck me, please.”I’m torn and don’t know what to do. Even as bold as her words were, I could hear the slurring underneath.“Saph—““Don’t Azrael. How come now when I’m willing you’re saying
CHAPTER FIFTY-ONE:Saphielle’s POV: A loud growl that shook the walls of the building ironically calmed my raging heart. A sense of comfort enveloped me, I could recognise that growl anywhere. Instantly, I felt safe as tears of relief left my eyes. My body was betraying me, constantly growing hot and unbearably sensitive but I was safe.Everything happened in a blur, first, all I heard was Azrael’s growl, and then two of the guys were being slammed into the wall. Azrael is half-shifted—his wolf is unlike any other wolf I've ever seen. It made no sense. His claws were inches deep into both of their jugulars. The way blood sprayed from their flesh splashing Azrael’s face made me cringe even in my drugged dazed state. Caspian on the other hand had a guy pinned to the wall, his fangs tearing his neck apart, making the guy choke loudly on his own blood. There was a lot of noise, a heavy stench of blood filled the air but whatever Annika had injected in me made it almost impossible for m
CHAPTER FIFTY:Azrael’s POV:I jerked awake, my heart squeezing tightly. I'm not sure why… It felt like I was being forced awake. I must have dozed off a bit waiting for Saphielle to be done hanging out with my brother and her friend.I hated it. Knowing Izar has a crush on her made it almost impossible not to march down to his bedroom, beat him to a pulp, and drag Saphielle with me but I was choosing to be civil for her. Hell, I've been so civilized these past weeks watching all three of them hang out in various places on campus while he makes her laugh and spoils her like she belonged to him.I guess watching him with her was the prize I had to pay for stalking her daily. I'd like to think I was being mature and confident, that I'd already won her over, and that's why I hadn't acted like a caveman, but that wasn't the truth. If anything, I knew Izar hadn’t confessed his feelings yet, he's awkward when it came to things like that which is wild considering the fact that he was a ve
