58. King William's suspicions

When they arrived at the Lexington docks, they were met by the horse-drawn carriage that King William had ordered. Nadlyn chose to sit next to Elisa and Arthur. They had talked about it before. So Nadlyn and Damian kept their distance for a while. They wouldn't be here for long, probably they would go home after the memorial service, because they had something to do.

"The market is busy here," Elisa said, engaging Nadlyn in conversation.

"Yes, Mother, it's very busy here because King William likes to help people, so many people take refuge in this city," Nadlyn exclaimed with a sweet smile.

"That's good, it should be the same in Drakela. But humans rarely go there unless they're invited by us," Elisa grumbled.

"It's here because King William often goes to scary places, like when he saved me. No human can just walk in there without his permission, Mother," Nadlyn said, and Elisa nodded.
