Not So Mighty

The rogues stood in the shadows, their eyes glinting with malicious intent. Lancelot, the Alpha King, had walked into their trap unknowingly, leaving his pack behind without any guards. They couldn't believe their luck. A wicked smile spread across their faces as they realized their enemy was alone and vulnerable.

Lancelot could sense their presence, his ears perked up and his heart began to race with anticipation. He knew what awaited him, but he couldn't back down. He had made this decision for a reason. If Draco's revelation was true, then he needed to confront Victoria alone and try to mend their broken relationship in order to have a chance at being a father to the daughter he had rejected.

The leader of the rogues stepped forward, his voice dripping with mockery. "Not so mighty now, are you, Alpha King?" he taunted, his canines bared in an attempt to intimidate Lancelot.

A mischievous smile played on Lancelot's lips as he sauntered lazily away from the rogues. He could sense their eagerness to attack, but he wouldn't give them the satisfaction of seeing him flinch. Just as he had anticipated, one of the rogues lunged towards him, almost catching him off guard. But Lancelot was prepared.

His claws extended in a swift and deadly attack, slashing across the rogue's chest. With a graceful dodge, Lancelot managed to evade the rogue's touch. The other rogues witnessed this unexpected counter-attack and leaped towards him, overwhelming him with their numbers.

Fury and determination burned in Lancelot's eyes as he fought back. He may not have been the fiercest fighter, but he refused to give up easily. He clawed and nipped at whatever he could reach, refusing to let the rogues have the upper hand.

"For a man who believes only in himself, so full of himself, you should know that you have made a lot of enemies," the rogue leader sneered amidst the chaos of claws and clashes.

A deep growl rumbled in Lancelot's throat. He spared a quick glance at the rogue leader, a mistake that allowed the rogues to attack his exposed side. A surge of pain shot through his body, but it only fueled his determination. In an instant, Lancelot shifted into his majestic black wolf form, his eyes turning coal black. The sight of him, looking like no ordinary wolf, froze everyone in their tracks.

Lancelot lunged at the rogue leader, aiming for his throat. With a swift flick of his claws, the rogue fell lifeless onto the forest floor. Without giving them a moment to recover, Lancelot charged at the remaining rogues, taking them down one by one with ruthless efficiency.

Returning to his human form, Lancelot's gaze landed on the last rogue standing - the rogue leader. A menacing smile curled on his lips as he approached him with purpose.

"Your mistake was thinking you could challenge me," he growled, his voice tinged with a mix of triumph and bitterness. The two men charged at each other, teeth and claws flying through the air. Growls and snarls echoed through the forest as they clashed, neither willing to back down.

The rogue leader made a swift and unexpected move, catching Lancelot off guard. Lancelot stumbled, clutching his abdomen in pain. But he quickly recovered, evading the rogue leader's next attack and launching a powerful counter-attack of his own. With a swift flick of his paw, he sent the rogue leader crashing to the ground. Lancelot wasted no time and pounced on him, a look of vengeance in his eyes. He gripped the rogue leader's neck, pulling him to his feet and throwing him against a sturdy tree. The sound of bones snapping filled the air as the rogue's life came to an abrupt end.

Lancelot's chest heaved heavily as he stood amidst the fallen bodies of his enemies. A bittersweet smile played on his bloodied face, a testament to his hard-fought victory. With a weary sigh, he glanced down at the chunk taken out of his body and reassured himself, "It will heal."

Retrieving a clean set of clothes from his bag, Lancelot cleaned himself up and changed. He couldn't enter the human world looking like a savage beast. As he stood at the edge of the forest, ready to go back to where Victoria and their daughter awaited him, he couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions - pride for his triumph, sorrow for the lives he had taken, and an overwhelming sense of determination to rebuild what he had lost.

Daniel stood at the doorstep of Victoria's room, watching her as she tenderly played with their baby. Thoughts swirled in his mind as he contemplated his next move. He knew that his salary alone wouldn't be enough to support Victoria and their child, and a sense of responsibility gnawed at him. He wanted to provide for them, to ensure they had a stable future.

Interrupting the peaceful scene, Daniel walked inside the room, startling Victoria who hadn't even sensed or heard him enter. Her eyes lit up with a warm smile as she greeted him.

"Hi," she said softly, gratitude evident in her voice.

Daniel returned her smile, but behind it was a mix of worry and concern. He couldn't help but notice the sadness in Victoria's eyes, a heaviness that seemed to weigh her down. He knew better than to pry, but he couldn't suppress his curiosity entirely.

"I was thinking," Daniel began, unsure of how to approach the subject delicately, "you could start looking for a job. It might help to provide for yourself and the baby."

Victoria's nodded in agreement, her eyes reflecting the effort she had already been putting into finding a job for herself. She didn't want to burden Daniel any further, grateful for the roof over her head and the care he had provided.

Daniel was taken aback by her response. It had only been a short time since she had arrived, yet here she was, already actively searching for job opportunities. He admired her determination, her strength in the face of adversity. His admiration for Victoria grew even more in that moment.

"I might be able to help with that," Daniel murmured, eager to ease Victoria's worries. He knew of a friend who was looking for a secretary in her company. Although Victoria lacked certificates or credentials, he believed she had potential and would be a valuable asset.

A frown crossed Victoria's face as she realized her limitations. Without the proper qualifications, she doubted her chances of securing a job. Yet she nodded slowly, appreciating Daniel's offer and the support he had shown her.

"Thank you for your help, Daniel," she whispered, touched by his kindness.

"I'm glad I could help," Daniel replied sincerely, feeling a surge of satisfaction at the thought of assisting Victoria in her journey towards independence. Jobs may come and go, but the bond between them was growing stronger with each passing day.

As Daniel left the room, Victoria pondered her dilemma. Her lack of certificates or credentials seemed like an insurmountable obstacle, casting doubt on her ability to secure employment. Yet, she remained hopeful, grateful for the opportunity presented by Daniel. She knew that with determination and a little bit of luck, she just might be able to carve out a better future for herself and her daughter.
