Chapter 4

Irvin’s POV

I took a deep sigh. I’m alone in Henrick's room while he was out for a while to answer the call he got a minute ago. I fell asleep earlier but eventually woke up when I heard a big smash and found out that he broke one of his bed lights. Why am I being surrounded by danger?

“You’re spacing out again.” I turned and saw him leaning on the door frame.

“S-Sorry.” I looked down in embarrassment.

“Is everything alright?” He asked and joined me on the terrace. “You can tell me.”

“I’m fine.” Obviously it’s a lie. But I don’t fully trust him yet. And I doubt I will trust anyone again. Especially a guy.

“Alright then. I want to show you something’.” He chuckled. “Don’t worry. It’s not pretty, hot ladies. Come on.”

Henrick grabbed my wrist and dragged me out the room. We went to the next door beside him. He even gave me a mischievous smile before opening the door that creeped me out.

It was another room. Unlike his, it was themed in pink and white color. The ambiance has the combination of masculine and feminine aura. I love it. It’s more likely my dream bedroom than I imagined when I was still young. Is this the room that he will lend me for the meantime?

“Surprise! I hope I didn’t disappoint you.” I face him with a smile. He was so anxious and uncomfortable.

“Disappointed? You don’t have to do this, Henrick. But thank you. I love it.”

Third Person’s POV

Vin excitedly sitted the bed and checked everything while Henrick watched him silently. He was like a kid that just went to the playground for the first time.

“Are you sure this will be my room?” He shouted from the bathroom. “I’m not complaining or what. But are you really sure?” He added.

“Yup. Unless you want to stay in my room instead.” Henrick teases that Irvin came out and gave him a glare.

“It’s not funny.” He said sarcastically.

“I’m just kidding. Don’t be such a grandpa.” He laughed. “Anyway, we have a class tomorrow so you better sleep. Goodnight.”

“Aaah…wait.” Henrick was about to close the door when Irvin stopped him. “Thanks a lot.”

“Too early for that. Pass your initiation first.”

“I almost forgot that. Hehe. I’ll try.”

“Okay then.” Henrick totally closed the door before Irvin remembered something.

“Oh! Goodnight.” It was like a whisper. And a familiar feeling visited him again. Loneliness.

The next day he woke up early. It’s already a habit of his since he was the one who prepares breakfast for himself and Tristan every day. But his life is different now. Unless, he’ll return to that usual life again. But that’s a no-no. ‘What I’m going to do? Should I cook breakfast or wait for Henrick?’

“I better prepare myself first.”

Irvin went to the bathroom and took a shower. He just finished buttoning his uniform when he heard a knock on his door.

“Mr. Walker, I brought your breakfast.” Irvin thought it was some of Henrick’s maids. He hurriedly opened the door widely. Mr. Roy was standing outside holding a tray for food. “Good morning, Mr. Walker.” He greeted me and put the tray on the table.

“Good morning. Is Henrick awake?”

“Not yet. I’m just about to wake him up.”

“Leave it to me.” Mr. Roy nodded and left without a word. Vin still doesn’t trust him but he needs to treat Henrick well.

Vin decided to open it after a few knocks. Henrick was still in bed with a crumpled bed sheet. It feels like there’s a battle last night that happened on his bed. So messy.

“Evans, wake up. You’re going to be late.” He shakes him but he just groans for an answer. “Wake up!”

“Whoa! Whoa! What’s wrong with you?” He finally woke up when Vin tickled him. “I’m up. Okay.” And they laughed in chorus.

They spent breakfast together before Henrick took a bath, chatted for a while and went to school together. It was unusual for Irvin to be accompanied by the most feared student but he somehow felt relieved.

Eyes were on them and others gossip as they walked past the hallway. Obviously because of Henrick and maybe because they were together.

“Get your stuff now.” He ordered and Vin followed him. Getting his books on the locker while Henrick was leaning on the wall. Waiting.

“BRO!”

“Oliver,” They both give each other a brotherly hug while Irvin focuses on getting his books in his locker.

“Fine. You didn’t show up last night. That is so unusual.” Oliver noticed Irvin and finally got the reason why he was absent. They’ve been only close for four years now but Henrick is easy to read once you already know how he thinks.

“Haha. Ok. See yah upstairs.”

Then he left. VIPs are all sons of some powerful businessman, politician and actors. Being surrounded by fame and powers is nothing for them. But it doesn’t give them a reason to brag about it. Unless, it’s necessary.

“So how’s the first night?” Boone teases as they are taking a break at the school building’s rooftop. Both Henrick and Boone love peaceful places like this, unlike the younger ones. That’s why they spent more time together than the others.

“I’m not like that. Irvin is having a hard time right now.” He sighed.

“Obviously, he is. Have you already made up your mind?”

“About what?”

“About the initiation. Don’t tell me you still prefer to slap him with a paddle?”

“He’s gonna hate me if I treat him the way others do.” Somehow he felt irritated. Not because of Boone. But the fact he can’t do anything with Irvin.

“So you liked him.” Henrick looked at him with surprise. Unaware of what he just said. “You can’t lie to us, Henry boy. And besides you’re not going to harass him, right?”

“Of course. He’s not into guys. He is straight. He might even a homophobic.”

“We’ll never know. Relax man. You are Henrick Evans. What’s with that attitude?”

“Geez.”

“I already reserved the room for this weekend. So stop acting like that.”

“WHAT?! Are you crazy? I didn’t make up my mind yet.”

“You have no choice. Grab it while you still can.”

Boone left Henrick. He can’t hide the fact that he was trapped in Irvin's beauty. But he was too afraid to make a move about it. Knowing that Irvin always been bullied sexually in the campus.

“Maybe this is just another infatuation that won’t last.” He told himself.
