Chapter 3

Irvin’s POV

I don’t know where to go. I can’t stay at the apartment with that pervert. With my wounds and bruises I got a chance to spend the night at the health center for free. And staying there for the second night is kind of embarrassing.

This is the first time that I stayed in school after class. Since I have nowhere to go I decided to sit on one of the school bench and think over the situation. To sum it up I have an initiation to prepare to though I don’t know what exactly happens during VIP’s initiation. I once watched a movie that they do some initiation rites. The guy being blind folded and hit by what they call paddle many times. With this body, can I survive it?

I turned pale just thinking about what I am going to get through in the near future. But then this is for my safety anyway. If I pass that I won’t be bullied ever again. I can have peace of mind. But for now, the real problem is where I am going to stay since the apartment that I used to stay in is not part of the option.

“What should I do?” I put both of my palms on my face and tried to think of a solution. “I don’t know where to go.”

“You can stay in my place.” I looked to my left side immediately as I heard a familiar voice. It was Henrick sitting beside me. I didn’t know when or how long he'd been there.

“H-How?” I stuttered.

“You’re too drowning in your own thoughts.” He said as if reading my mind. “Let’s go.” Henrick instantly stands and starts walking. I thoughtlessly followed him until we reached the school gate where an expensive looking car was parked not that far away.

“W-where are we going?” I asked.

He stopped and faced me, which made me bump into his body. “Walker, who do you think I am?” His glare makes me shiver in fear. No doubt he is a monster that everyone is afraid of.

“S-Sorry. I-I’m just asking, Mr. Evans.” I avoid looking him straight in the eyes to hide my fear but my voice shows it. He touched my chin and adjusted it to make me look straight in his eyes.

“Why did you join if you don’t trust me? Trust me, okay?” His voice became comforting. It sounded like a plea, not the usual demanding tone that he used to. I can’t help but to blush on his words. Fortunately, there are no other students around.

“Okay.” I lost my voice as I answered him. He then turn around and continues to walk. Me on the other hand was stunned. I can’t move my legs from too much shaking. After a few seconds I manage to walk and follow him again to his car that is waiting outside.

“Good afternoon, Young Master.” The guy in his forties greeted Henrick as he opened the door for him. He smiled at me too and greeted me.

“This is my friend, Walker. He will be staying in the guest room from now on.” He talks to the guy who opened the door for him earlier.

“Nice meeting you. I am Young Master’s assistant and secretary, Roy.” He introduced himself.

“Nice meeting you too.” I smiled at Mr. Roy while Henrick was still focused on his phone.

“I just want to remind you of dinner la-“ Roy starts talking while reading his notes but Henrick stops him.

“Cancel it. I have more important things to do later. I want some new sets of clothing for him.” Still focused on his phone.

“Maybe I can get my stuff at the apartment.” I suggested. He gives me a death glare that makes me gulp and shut my mouth.

“Mr. Roy, can you contact Ran? I need to talk to him in private. ASAP.” Mr. Roy was surprised by what Henrick said that makes me curious who this Ran is.

“Yes Young Master.” He turned his notes to write it down, not asking why. I can’t blame him. The way Henrick walks and talks to him is full of authority.

The car entered a mansion. My jaw dropped seeing a big, palace-like house. We stop at the main door of the house. Mr. Roy opened the car door for me and Henrick. Even the maid is lining up on the door to welcome him.

“Whoa. You’re like a prince.” My head was still pinned on the maids and he chuckled at what I said.

He walked inside so did I. Mr. Roy returned inside the car and drove away with the driver that I didn’t see. Maybe he will buy some of my stuff that Henrick demanded. The maids bow as we enter the mansion. I wandered my eyes around the house and I can say this is the most elegant house that I have ever seen. Though this is the only mansion-like house I set foot in. It’s no comparison to the houses that I saw in some magazines.

I follow Henrick upstairs until we reach the second floor where a lot of doors are queuing like in the hotels. He opened the door that farthest from the stairs. It was his room. I assume ‘cause there is a big picture of him on the wall at his head board.

“Come in.” He throws himself on the bed as I enter his enormous room. I leave my stuff on the chair near his bed and run into the terrace.

“So beautiful.” I watch the garden and the little pond outside the mansion. I closed my eyes as I felt the wind pass me. For a minute I feel nothing to worry. That everything was okay like my parents were still here with me.

“Your room will be ready soon. But for now you can rest in my bed.” He leadeth me to his bed and helped me take off my shoes.

“Moe was right.” I said as I lay on his bed. “You’re such a nice person.” I closed my eyes and fell asleep. Since I haven’t slept yesterday, my body especially, is too tired. Before I dozed off, I felt Henrick's warm hand touch my hair. And it feels good for some reason.
