CHAPTER THREE

The moment I removed the blindfold, my eyes fell on the butler—and right beside him stood the dog.

It was already staring at me.

I tried not to look directly at it, but curiosity pulled me in. Slowly, I lifted my head… and our eyes met.

Sharp. Icy blue.

Too bright to be natural.

They cut through me without mercy, and my breath hitched. I quickly looked away, my chest tightening, only for my gaze to fall on its body.

Its coat was a strange silvery white—soft, almost delicate—but unnaturally pale, like it had never known sunlight.

I kept staring.

Then suddenly—

it disappeared.

A wave of fear rushed through me, cold and suffocating. For a moment, I couldn’t think, couldn’t breathe—

“Mira, what are you looking at?”

The butler’s voice cut sharply through my thoughts.

My heart skipped.

Mira?

I turned to him, confusion flashing across my face. “How do you know my name?”

His expression didn’t change. “You forget too easily,” he said coldly. “I told you—I know everything about you.”

My stomach twisted.

“And I warned you,” he continued, his voice dropping slightly, “about what you should and shouldn’t do when you stepped out of that vehicle. Yet you did the complete opposite.”

He took a step closer.

“Are you trying to die?”

I swallowed hard. “I… I wasn’t feeling like myself,” I said, my voice unsteady. “It was like… something was pulling me. Like I was being controlled. I felt its presence—and now it’s gone.”

He studied me for a moment but said nothing.

I took the chance to look around.

And my breath caught.

This wasn’t just a house.

It was a mansion—no… a palace.

I couldn’t even see the gate we came through. It was as if the outside world had vanished completely.

The place shimmered, not with warmth or beauty, but with something else—something that sent a quiet chill crawling down my spine.

It wasn’t dark.

But somehow, sunlight didn’t seem to reach it.

And yet… plants grew. Alive. Thriving.

It didn’t make sense.

It felt like I was standing inside something carefully designed… something controlled.

Like a cage.

A beautiful, inescapable cage.

“I haven’t properly introduced myself,” the butler said calmly.

I turned back to him.

“My name is Steve. I have served my master and his family for over fifty years.”

My eyes widened slightly.

He looked no older than someone in his early twenties.

“My master is thirty,” he continued, watching me closely. “And you…”

He paused, almost as if measuring me.

“…you are only eighteen.”

My chest tightened.

“I’m sure,” he added quietly, “you haven’t experienced anything truly brutal.”

Something in me snapped.

The memories came rushing back—the Hathaways, the pain, the years I had survived.

I clenched my fists.

“You don’t know what you’re talking about,” I said sharply. “I’ve been through hell for the past ten years. Don’t stand there and tell me I haven’t experienced anything.”

A faint smile touched his lips—but it wasn’t kind.

“You’re becoming bold,” he said. “I just hope that boldness remains… when the real danger comes.”

A chill ran down my spine.

Before I could respond, he turned.

“Come,” he said. “Let me take you to your room, Miss Mira.”

The way he said my name sent a shiver through me.

Still, I followed him.

As we stepped inside, the air shifted.

That same presence I had felt outside—the one that didn’t belong—rose again, stronger this time.

My so-called husband.

I couldn’t see him.

But I knew he was there.

Steve must have sensed my unease, but he said nothing.

We walked in silence.

Doors lined the walls—too many to count.

Yet not a single sound came from behind them.

It was as if the entire place was holding its breath.

“If you need anything,” Steve said suddenly, “or have questions, you may ask.”

But I stayed quiet.

Something told me it was safer that way.

After what felt like forever—three floors and nearly ten minutes later—we finally stopped.

My room.

My name was written boldly across the door:

Mira’s Room.

I hesitated.

“Make yourself comfortable,” Steve said. “And don’t be surprised by the decorations. No one is inside.”

That didn’t make me feel any better.

I pushed the door open slowly and stepped in, counting each step without realizing it.

At first, the room felt… empty.

But something about it wasn’t right.

A strange feeling crept over me, like something was waiting. Watching.

I shook it off and walked further in.

The room was larger than I expected. A massive wardrobe stood to one side, with a door leading to a bathroom. At the far end was a large bed—soft, inviting… almost too perfect.

I walked to the wardrobe and opened it.

Clothes.

Dozens of them.

And every single one… my size.

My stomach twisted.

How long had they been preparing for me?

Exhaustion began to settle into my bones, and I let out a slow breath.

Maybe I should rest.

But just as I moved toward the bed—

the atmosphere shifted.

Something changed.

I froze.

And this time…

I knew I wasn’t alone.

  • The Cursed Prince's Chosen Queen    THE VISION OF SERAPHINA

CHAPTER NINETEEN After dinner, Luca refused to leave my side. Surprisingly… I didn't fight him on it. Maybe it was because exhaustion had settled deep inside my bones. Maybe it was because for the first time in days, the distance between us no longer felt unbearable. Carefully, as though I were something fragile enough to shatter beneath careless hands, he eased me onto the bed before slipping beside me. His arms wrapped around my waist, warm… protective. Safe. I melted into him before I could stop myself. His lips brushed softly against my ear. "I don't want to pressure you right now," he murmured quietly. "Stress is written all over your face. I won't disturb you… but at least let me hold you tonight." The tenderness in his voice nearly broke me. Turning slightly, I pressed a gentle kiss against his lips. "I love you." A soft smile touched his face. "I love you more, my princess." Wrapped inside his warmth, sleep claimed us. But peace did not. Darkness swallowed me

  • The Cursed Prince's Chosen Queen    DANGERS AHEAD

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN When I opened my eyes, I found myself back on my bed. Luca sat beside me, breaking the silence. “You were only out for a few minutes. Don’t overthink it.” He must have noticed the worry in my eyes because he quickly reassured me again. “You’re fine, Mira. Just a little stress, that’s all.” Then Roberts stepped forward. “Your Highness, you must take good care of yourself until you fully master your powers and grow stronger.” I didn’t have the energy to speak much, so I simply nodded. Exhaustion weighed heavily on me, yet hunger clawed at my stomach. I asked Dora to bring my food to my room since I was too weak to walk to the dining hall. After eating, sleep claimed me almost instantly. I slept for about three hours. When I woke again, I had no desire to train. Instead, I summoned Steve. He appeared before me almost immediately. “Ma’am, you’re awake. Would you like to train?” “Not really,” I replied softly. “I want to read. Please escort me to the library.”

  • The Cursed Prince's Chosen Queen    OUR ARGUMENTS

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN At the diner, the food tasted far better than I expected. Maybe it was the pregnancy, or maybe I was just hungry—but I ate more than usual. Luca gently held my hand and said, “Slow down. You’re eating like someone who hasn’t eaten in a week.” I paused and looked around the table—Steve, Dr. Roberts, Dora… and my husband, Luca. For a moment, we looked like one happy family. “Doctor,” I asked calmly, “will I gain weight because of the pregnancy?” Dr. Roberts chuckled softly. “Of course you will. There’s nothing you can do to stop it.” Before I knew it, tears filled my eyes. “Mira… what’s wrong?” Luca asked, clearly confused. I wiped my eyes gently. “If I gain weight… will you still love me the same?” The entire table burst into laughter. My chest tightened. “I’m serious!” I snapped, my voice trembling. “And you’re all laughing?” A tear slipped down my cheek. Luca immediately stood and walked over to me. “I’ll always love you,” he said softly. “It’s not

  • The Cursed Prince's Chosen Queen    HE HIT ME

CHAPTER SIXTEEN The doctor suddenly fell to his knees, his voice trembling. “Your mother, Seraphina Blackthorn, was a great queen… beloved by all. She… she even looked like your wife standing here.” The room went still. “She served the kingdom with everything she had. Then she became pregnant with you. It was during that time she discovered the king had an affair… two years earlier… which resulted in your elder brother, Derek.” Luca’s jaw tightened, but he said nothing. “The king later went to war and returned gravely injured—on the brink of death. Your mother’s pregnancy was almost due, yet… she refused to lose him. Despite his betrayal, she also refused to let the kingdom lose its king.” The doctor’s voice cracked. “So she used her healing powers… and saved him.” A pause. “But it cost her everything.” My heart dropped. “Two days later, her labor began. And the moment your cries filled the room… the queen gave her last breath.” Silence. “The king… could not forgive hims

  • The Cursed Prince's Chosen Queen    THE ATTACK ON ME

CHAPTER FIFTEEN This routine continued for a week. I was always with Steve or Luca, just to make sure Derek didn’t get the chance to speak to me or come close. Lately, I had been feeling dizzy and slightly nauseous, but I didn’t think much of it. I tried reading sometimes, but not for long. I just went along with everything, hoping it would pass. Until one day. A letter arrived from the palace, summoning Luca—with his right-hand man, Steve—for an urgent discussion concerning the throne. There was no way out of it. Before leaving, Luca held me close and reassured me. “I’ll be back before midnight.” But unease crept into my chest. Midnight felt too far away. “How am I supposed to protect myself?” I asked quietly. “We’re already bonded,” he replied calmly. “If anything happens, just call my name in your mind three times, and I’ll be there. Besides, Dora is still here.” I frowned. “Dora can’t even protect herself. How is she supposed to protect me?” He sighed softly. “Just call

  • The Cursed Prince's Chosen Queen    THE UNWANTED GUEST

CHAPTER FOURTEEN As he appeared before us, I saw the rage burning in Luca’s eyes. “Derek… what are you doing here?” he asked, his voice thick with resentment. Derek only smiled calmly. “Is that any way to welcome your elder brother?” Luca’s expression darkened. “What have you come here to do this time?” “I’ve come to stay for a while,” Derek replied smoothly. “Father’s orders. The king believes we should get to know each other better… so that when the battle comes, the loser won’t seek revenge or throw the kingdom into chaos.” His words sounded reasonable—but something about them felt wrong. And deep down, I knew that wasn’t the only reason he was here. Still, none of us objected. Sending him away would only anger the king. Derek’s gaze suddenly shifted to me, slow and deliberate. “Won’t you introduce me to your lovely… and very sexy wife?” His eyes lingered over my body as if memorizing every detail, and a chill ran down my spine. Before I could speak, Luca snapped, his vo

CHAPTER ELEVEN I stepped into his room quietly, only to find him lying on the bed—once again in his beast form. Fear gripped me instantly. He was larger than before, his sharp teeth glinting faintly in the dim light, his massive paws resting heavily against the sheets. For a moment, I thought th

  • The Cursed Prince's Chosen Queen    THE TALK WITH STEVE

CHAPTER FIVE I wasn’t comfortable around my husband, but I felt a little lighter with the butler, Steve. So, while I remained on the bed, still too weak to move, I spoke quietly. “Steve… can we talk in private?” My husband must have sensed my unease. A strange wave of guilt and sadness seemed t

  • The Cursed Prince's Chosen Queen    MY DOG HUSBAND

CHAPTER FOUR Right beside the bed, I saw him again—my husband. His cold presence filled the room. His expression was unreadable, and those icy blue eyes… I tried so hard not to look into them, yet they pulled me in. They were too bright, too sharp—terrifying, yet strangely captivating. I quickly

  • The Cursed Prince's Chosen Queen    THE TORTURE

CHAPTER ONE From the very first day I stepped into the house of my adoptive parents—the Hathaways—I knew I didn’t belong. It wasn’t something they said. It was something I felt. Cold. Immediate. Certain. I never asked to be adopted. I never begged for a family. Yet they took me anyway, tore me
