21. Chickened out
"Are you sure you want to walk all the way back home?" Tristan asked for the umpteenth time and Lydia nodded her head.
"Goodness. You are a crazy woman," he laughed.
She told him she wanted to spend time with him and didn't want to leave him yet and so she suggested they walk back to her place as it wasn't that far from where they ate.
She felt that way, they would talk more and still be by each other's side.
Lydia halted. She stood in front of him, "You don't like it?"
"Like what?" Tristan asked.
"That I am weird, stupid?" She snarked.
Tristan shook his head, showing off his pearly white teeth. "Not at all. I like that. To be honest, I didn't want to part ways with you just yet and I'm glad you suggested this. We can talk more and hold hands more."

Tristan spent the whole night drinking. He couldn't close his eyes and fell asleep. Whenever he closed his eyes, he opened them back as he couldn't seem to fall asleep no matter what. "You know what. I give up," Tristan snorted. "I don't even know what to do or how to feel any more. I came here to break my curse..." He trailed off as he took another sip of alcohol from the bottle. His eyes were red already and it was due to the fact he couldn't cry no matter how he wanted and he couldn't express how he felt. "My life back in the werewolf world isn't that much different from here you know. I mean there is a difference but now, considering all that is happening and the state I am in, it isn't. I would fall in love with the one who would break my curse and return back to my world and Tristan Stone would take back his body and then what happened next?

"Are you okay?" Simon whispered to Tristan. Simon noticed how zoned out Tristan was in the meeting room. He could tell his friend wasn't paying attention to anything the woman at the front was talking about. Tristan snapped out of his thought. "What did you say?" Simon shook his head. "What just happened?" Tristan asked his driver as soon the car came to a forceful halt. The driver exhaled deeply. "I'm sorry sir. I almost hit someone. I will up down and rectify the situation," he told Tristan but before he could, the person he almost hit with the car came tapping on the mirror of the car. The driver wound down the car window so he could speak to the lady. "Are you stupid or something? Are you? Don't you know how to drive and don't you watch where you are going?" Tristan cautiously walked towards Lydia. It's been over two week since they started dating and made things official between them. The past two weeks for the both of them have been very nice but since yesterday Lydia has been acting weirdly and it disturbed him.
