SONYA'S POV

Derek leads me out to the back patio, far enough from the dining room that we won't be overheard. The night air is cool, and I wrap my arms around myself, suddenly wishing I'd brought a jacket.

"Here." Derek shrugs off his bomber jacket and drapes it over my shoulders.

"Thanks."

We stand in uncomfortable silence for a moment. I can hear crickets chirping, the distant sound of traffic, anything but the words neither of us wants to say first.

"So," Derek finally says. "You and Reign."
