Pacing the end of the hall I looked up to the VIP section. Your Highness was yet to come out. I was sure the party was over but she was nowhere to be found. Even maximus and seven Hawkins had left the venue but I couldn't find her. Was she found? Overwhelmed with worry I began to go up the VIP section.

“hey you! “Someone yelled behind me. I froze but I kept going. I just wanted to reach the end of the VIP section. I just wanted to know if anyone was still up there. I hoped she had not been killed or something.

“are you hard of hearing! I said stop! “The voice was harsher and closer. I immediately stopped.

“turn around “the voice behind me ordered. I took in a deep breath and slowly turned.

“Marcus?”It was the chief of the bodyguards. I breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness it was him. This will be easy to get out of.

“Hey chief” I laughed nervously.

“What are you doing up here?” His eyes roamed the room behind me.

I looked down and sighed. “ Is anything wrong?” he

“I can’t believe this” I muttered as tears began to pool in my eyes. He sighed and looked away. Marcus was hurt when I told him Amelia had died. I apologized fot not coming to the meeting because I was too hurt. Too hurt to think about anything other than my pain. I had lost a friend. And no one was going to help us. “I wonder why Alpha Knox didn't come?” I said. “you are his mate. He should be running in now” he said turning back to stare at me. I couldn’t hold it all in as I sobbed quietly. No one cares about me. Even the f*e that did either died or are suffering. I thought of Lilith. I might never get to meet her again. Few minutes passed and when my cries had been reduced to just sniffs, he cleared his throat. “There’s more bad news?’ I glared at him and he nodded. “Then out with it” I snapped. The moment I did, I felt worse. This man was not to blame for anything but I felt angry. Enough with the pain. “I’m sorry” I muttered but he stopped me with a wave of his hands “It’s

The breeze blew steadily through the window and caused the room to be quite chilly. I shivered in reaction. Staring do you I could goose pimples all over my body. I groaned and ran a hand over my hair. I hated being sick. The feeling of inadequacy and less strength scared the hell out of me. How would I control and command the pack if I lay confined in a room. On a bed. With all my strength, I managed to sit up. My breathing was ragged as I tried to steady myself. I sat on the edge of the bed, my head in my hands. I could feel my skin burning like fire was licking at my insides. Every muscle ached, like I had gone ten rounds in a fight I didn’t remember. Even thr thought of laying back on the bed. The strength to do that. It hurt so much. A layer of sweat slicked my skin, my breathing shallow. My wolf stirred restlessly, uneasy. Something was wrong. Why was I sick suddenly? Was it what I ate? I hadn't eaten much since I got back with Arya. "Your highness" Vok ‘voice cu

“We are ready your Highness!” Vok announced and I nodded. I grabbed my silver bullet and loaded the gun. This was the deadliest silver in the whole of the werewolf Kingdom. “Is everything set “I asked Vok. He nodded.” Yes Your Highness” “Let's go” I ordered. Just before I could take one step forward, I felt a sharp pain in my head and I flinched. Oh no, what was it now? Vow turned around. Surprised that I did not follow him. He walked back. “Are you alright your highness?” he asked staring into my eyes. I nodded. “Yes yes, let's go” I forced my eyes open and began to walk despite the weakness engulfing my body. ******************************************************** The car revved up to a start and the driver drove off. I jolted up from sleep, panting like one that had run a race. Sweat gleamed all over my skin. I sat up properly. What sort of dream was that? Why did Knox get to be victorious? He should be dead from that poison. He shouldn’t have reached the Fanwood. Just then there was a banging sound coming from my door. I arched an eyebrow. Who was that by this time of the night? The knocking continued. “Xander!” I yelled. I didn’t hear him come in and the knocking persisted. “Ughh!!” I used the pillow to cover my ears and but it didn’t make it any better. I knew that the only way I would get this solved is if I go open the door myself. Finally I was able to pull myself from the bed and walked to the door. “Just let me see the idiotic that is disturbing my sleep” I said wit gritted teeth as I marched to the door. The knock came again. More impatient and louder. “I ‘m coming!” I whispered harshly. Finally I opened the door. It was a maid. “Are you crazy? Youcan” t around banging on d

I was surprised to find out that it was unscathed after what I had been through. The fever was over and I felt much better. “Your highness” I turned around to find Vok, the pack Doctor and Madam Lafayette in my room. “I am not dying yet” I said as I sat up. “But you could have” Madam Lafayette retorted. “Its good thing your beta brought you in, when he did” the pack doctor said. “Alright, thank you all” I replied. “So what’s next? I haven’t rescued them? Should we all sit back and fold our hands? I asked. “Don’t you get it your highness” she said. I raised my hands. “Okay okay what’s next?” Madam Lafayette turned to the pack doctor. “You may leave” He nodded. “Very well your highnesses” he bowed and worked away. “I don’t trust anyone” she said, then she turned to us. “The plan is to go save them” “Alright let’s go

  • The Dark Alpha's Secret mate    The she wolf 17 years ago

Out in the forests, in the cold, damp grounds was a lycanthrope. Bloodied, crushed and gnawed. At the moment he is fighting for his life. It would be a wonder if he survived the night. He had silver skin like diamond, a perfect. He was authority and royalty in one …a true blood. As the redwood pack got ready for the full moon, little did they know that one of their own was breathing his last? The redwood, howled the loudest. Fought the boldest. And hunted the biggest prey in the history of lycanthropy. Werewolf hunters. They were ahead of all clans and that earned those lots of respect amongst other pack Eric, the beta, jogged up the mountains as soon as the moon became full and screamed out to the other packs. Then the transition began. Nails turned to plundering sharp claws. Bones were rumpledand new bone structures were made. Their eyes shone like stars as their visions intensified. They ran in a haze. The thing mum was doing was good and bad, for me. I understand her fear. I mean I would also be scared but then it made me feel inadequate in front of my peers and it hurt my self-esteem, when they talk about Transitioning ceremonies. But then the stories were scary. During this ceremony, the young werewolves transitioned into themselves. At the moment, the young ones didn’t know a thing about being a werewolf. They didn’t know how to focus on who to attack or not. And if they had to transition on their own, they could risk killing a being that was not of their kind or does not look like them. For lycans that are yet to transition, they always came with lots of their family members and members of their pack, to protect them, in case they were attacked. Heir alphas who were not liked, were wanted dead. And if they came alone or with little or no protection were chased and hunted. If caught, they are instantly killed. And nothing could be done about it. Hence the protective nature of

I could somehow hear them converse. “Guys let’s finish her off!” “No, not yet, she has to suffer first” “No guys don’t touch her yet” The one who had lots of resentment towards me, gritted his teeth, charged at me. “No! • The Dark Alpha's Secret mate    Life in the palace

2weeks later I had tears welled up in my eyes as I tried to clean Nina's wounds. The ice dungeon had done more than harm to her. I pitied her. What she had to go through. "Miss Lilith, do you want to dab her face some more?" I shook my head. " It's enough. If I use more hot water on her face, it might burn her skin " The young maid who was my assistant nodded. She began to pack everything we had used to clean Nina. There was improvement in her condition but she doesn't speak yet. Her eyes were open but she wasn't speaking yet. "Nina" she looked at me. " Do you want to have a pineapple or mango smoothie? Blink once if it's a pineapple and twice if it's a Mango" Nina blinked twice and I smiled. We were getting better at this. I took out the mango smoothie and put a straw in it. Then I helped her sit up and held the drink to her lips After all that, I and the maid cleaned up the alpha's room and left. Now the work begins. Even though I was Nina's maid and had my own qua

I was shocked to find the people I had seen in my dreams sitting in a room. Sean, the gamma and Vok, the beta. I wondered what was going on. I walked slowly to them.they talked in high voices. They hadn't noticed my presence. I recalled the conversation I once had with Nina. She told me to be careful with Vok. And after staying in the prison and there was no hope of myself getting out, I somehow began to see meaning with what Nina said. It was some sort of open secret that high ranking wolves in the pack were not trustworthy. The warden with me cleared her throat and they immediately turned. "Here she is sirs" she bowed a little and turned back. I bowed as I walked to them.. "Sir you want to see me?" I asked. They nodded. "We need your help" Sean said. "On what?" I replied. Vok nudged Sean and he closed his mouth. Not saying anything again. Vok looked up at me. He gave me a small smile "Firstly you have to appear in the alpha's court" he said. My heart sk

  • The Dark Alpha's Secret mate    A weird dream (127)

There was something odd I had noticed when I woke up. Everywhere was moving it felt like I was in transition. Rubbing my head, I managed to sit up and peered out of the window. I saw that the trees were moving. Have I been kidnapped? Fear engulfed my whole body. It was when I opened my mouth to shout that a familiar voice interrupted me. “Guys, you will attack them from the front– pause– while I and Sean with the others will take it from the back, okay? He asked” and I heard some deep voice responding. This was the voice of Vok, the beta. I found it weird that I could be in the same place with him. “What am I doing here?” I muttered to myself. It was then that it all came rushing to me. I remember being told by the warden to go cut grass in the wee hours of the morning. So I remember that I became cold. I walked into a carriage in the stable and slept off. Now I am with people I don't know, heading to somewhere I don't know. After a while, we stopped moving. “We camp here toni

  • The Dark Alpha's Secret mate    Angry with her

The pack doctor said rest. He said time would fix what the cold and chains had broken. But I knew better. Time didn’t heal what was taken. Nina slept in my bed, wrapped in fur, barely breathing. I thought leaving her in the royal Infirmary was not a good idea. She needed warmth. I was ready to warm her up. I paced my room as I stared at her. Then I sat and lifted her hand. Her pulse throbbed weakly against my fingers each time I touched her wrist just to make sure she was still there. I sat beside her, unmoving, for hours. “You held on,” I whispered, brushing a knuckle down her cheek. “For me. I swear to the moon, Nina, I’ll never let you be taken again.” She didn’t wake. Didn’t need to. I knew she heard me. In my head, I had already planned what I would do to my mother. She had stepped on the tiger's tail. When I stepped out of the room, Vok was waiting in the sitting room his face was grim, his stance rigid. “She knows.” Of course, Ashira knew. My mother was smart.

I got to the bathroom and slowly closed the door. I waited and listened. I could hear footsteps outside the door. I put it on the tap in the bathroom. The noise was okay. Then I tapped on the teleprompter. “Hey, Vok you there?” And all I could hear were crickets. I called out to him again, and the answer was the same. I became tired of trying to get across to him I decided to actually use the bathroom. After I flushed, I stood in front of the mirror, water dripping down my face, hands gripping the sink like it could stop the storm inside me. I have tried countless times to get across to Vok, but all of them favored me, and I was getting frustrated. Any moment now, my mother would have to be the one to knock on the door and ask what was taking me so long. Suddenly the teleprompter in my ear buzzed low. “your Highness” came my Vok's voice, tight with urgency. “We’ve hit a dead end. A gate. Reinforced steel deep in silver. If we hold in longer, we might die.” “Where is it?” I

  • The Dark Alpha's Secret mate    Saving her

The rain had just stopped falling and I gave the guards a signal to start moving. It wasn't a short distance but we were ready to go far to get what we wanted. Firstly I asked that the ice in the palace be warm or disposed. I mean, anything I would do to not let them keep supplying the ice dungeon more ice. That way Nina would still be alive. I and my men stopped in front of the pink gate. I rolled my eyes. My mother and weird colors. “Announce us! “ my guard ordered. “Your majesty! The alpha of winter fell is here to see you” The man hurriedly ran to open the door. I recognize him. He hadn't changed at all. Xander. My mother's minion. All Ashira had to do was to say jump and he would be asking how high. I hated him. He was spineless. Not a he wolf. He was easily ordered around like a little dog. I wondered if he ever transitioned. I doubt if he has. If not he wouldn't be this spineless. The door opened and I squinted. Stating right in front of me were colors. Like a rainbo

I paced my room. “Your Highness, Amy is here” “Let her in !” The door to my chambers was slightly open. I could see the figure there. I could smell the fear on her body. “Come on” She flinched and nodded quickly. “Where is she?” My voice was quiet, dangerously quiet. The kind of quiet that came before a storm. Before I rained terror. I was even surprised at myself. Normally I would have snapped two necks by now. I stood in the center of my room, my chest heaving, eyes glowing an eerie gold. The air crackled with the tension of what my next action would be. Kill her? Amy, the maid, stood frozen as she stood there. Her hands clutched the corner of her apron like a lifeline. “My…. My… I mean. Your Highness…I—” I didn't need to repeat myself. In a flash, I was in front of her, fangs bared, eyes wild with something far more dangerous than rage, desperation. I need to find her before my mother gets hold of her. “Where. Is. My. Mate?” I growled. Amy trembled, her knees bu

“We are back, your Highness.” The new secretary turned to me and Vok with a bright smile. I dropped my phone. “I guess it's goodbye to seeing all those humans and their fat faces,” I replied. Vok and the secretary chuckled. I sighed and opened the door. I stretched my legs and walked to the other side. I smiled, staring at the environment. The green vegetation and all. Not those colored plastics Humans make in the lab. It is indeed good to be home. “Your Highness, the alpha of the blue moon pack sends his regards,” the secretary announced suddenly. I frowned. “Sorry Your Highness, Sir,, “ he said looking at me and Vok before he finally disappeared “Vok are you sure he's a werewolf?” Vok smiled. “ yes your highness” I sighed. It's been a while, really. I began to think about my life for the past one month. 2 weeks earlier, when I saw that the job here on the human side was way too big to be done within a week, I became worried. How would the pack go on? Vok began to m

When I looked up, I could see the gamma’s eyes bilge out. He stiffened on seeing me. I bent my head in shame. He must have been surprised seeing me here, like this. In this uniform, when I should have been dressed like her because, in the real sense, I was the present Luna, though I hadn’t laid claim to that title or agreed to be the alpha’s mate willingly. He coughed and looked away. I could see his struggle. Trying to rescue me without revealing my true identity. He must have known that the alpha didn’t want his mother to see me. But what sort of person works for the person who could kill her in the blink of an eye? I guess I was stubborn like the alpha said. “It’s nice to see you out here” Queen Ashira smiled. “The feeling is mutual, your highness,,” Sean said with a forced smile. “This maid tried to poison me, so I was going to punish her,” she said, looking over her shoulder and glaring at me. “That is such a huge allegation. Did you see her yourself?” “Yes.” The
