Chapter 39: Escape

"Think it is safe boss?" Reggie asked eyeing the fire escape through the window.  "It looks a little worn down."

"I don't think we have time to consider this." Summer pointed out as the area began to quickly fill with smoke.  "Either way we will die from falling or we will burn to death, which would you rather have?"

Reggie grimaced, "Can I have an option three?"

"Not the time." Taylor growled at his brothers terrible joke.

"He's right Reg." Summer agreed taking a deep breath.  "I will test it out first how does that sound?"

"No, I should be the one to do it." Reggie insisted.

Not allowing Summer the opportunity to argue Reggie quickly climbed through the window whose glass had been broken long ago disappearing just beyond.

Summer could hear the sound of metal groaning as Reggie went about checking the sturdiness of the stairs that they hoped would be their way out of this situation.  She could hear Reggie cussing
