AYLA

I am in the human town, looking at stores to find the right one that sells evening gowns. Most will get them made by one of the designers in the pack, but knowing how most feel about me, I went to town instead.

Finding the store Mom mentioned, I walk inside, and I start looking around, overwhelmed by the hundreds of dresses. They are all in different styles and colors, long evening gowns and shorter but still classy cocktail dresses.

I stand there looking, suddenly not so sure what sort of dress I am actually looking for.

“Oh no, those won’t fit you.” An old woman said as she came out of a back room.

“Oh, I, erhm. I am just looking, I need a dress for a significant formal event.” I relax, she's trying not to say too much.

“Ah, yes. I did read that there was going to be this special moon soon. I know some are very important for you wolves.” She says as if she were reading a recipe on meatballs, and I am a little shocked.

“Some of us in this town know about our kind. Me I am an old wolf living my life in peace here, running my store.” She says, and her eyes flicker to prove what she says.

“I didn’t know that anyone lived outside the pack,” I say and smile.

“Oh, but I am not a packmember. I once lived in a pack, far away from here. But when I got old, and my mate passed away, I wanted to be myself.”

“I see, does Alpha Grayson know you are here?” I ask.

“That old, blind Alpha wouldn’t see a rogue even if it was in front of him. No, he doesn’t know. And I hope we can keep it our secret.” She says, smiling.

“I won’t say a word. Not that anyone would believe me anyway.” I say and smile back.

“Are you okay, sweetheart?” She asks, looking at me, concerned.

“I don’t have a wolf, so most think of me as useless. That’s why I have to go outside the pack for a dress.” I say quietly, not looking at her. So I don’t see her coming over to me. And she put her hand on my chest, making me look into her eyes.

“Oh, sweetheart, you have a wolf, and she is in there, waiting.” She said as she turned to take a dress.

“What? You feel her? How? What is she waiting for?” The questions fly out of my mouth.

“She is waiting for the right time.” The old wolf says calmly as she holds up the most beautiful dress I have ever seen.

Its strapless sits tight on the chest and waist. From the waist, it flows out just a little. The dress is in a pattern of different silver tones, like the moon. It is absolutely gorgeous. I carefully hold it in my hands, scared to ruin it.

“What are you waiting for! Try it.” She says as she guides me to the room where I can try it.

The zipper is on the side, so I can easily zip the dress myself. I freeze when I look in the mirror, lost for words.

“That dress is as made for you!” The old wolf says excitedly.

“Not one part needs to be edited. It fits you like a glove. And you look very beautiful.” She adds softly. And I nod my head, still not able to speak.

“You need shoes and jewelry. Come.” She says, pushing me back into the main store.

She found a beautiful set of jewelry that perfectly matched the dress. A set of a princess-style necklace and matching earrings. And last, she found a pair of heels matching the dress.

“If I must come with a suggestion?” The old wolf asks, and I nod my head.

“You have beautiful hair. If I may say so. A thick braid with these braided into it. Will look absolutely gorgeous.” She says, showing me some silver treats.

“It is a great idea. I don’t like putting my hair all up anyway.” I say and smile to her, and she smiles back.

The old wolf helped me pack everything, and I am about to pay when I spot a picture next to the cashier. It’s a young man, and he is incredibly handsome, and for some reason, I feel drawn to his eyes.

The old wolf sees what I look at and smiles.

“That is my grandson, Liam. He looks handsome, right?” She says proudly, and I laugh a little.

“Yes, he does,” I admit, and she smiles.

“Good luck with the party, sweetheart.” She tells me and smiles warmly.

“Thank you for everything. And I meant what I said. I won't say anything.” I promise, and she smiles as I leave.

On the way home, I could not stop thinking about the old wolf and her kindness. It was rare that a wolf looked at me with respect. And I couldn’t forget her words. Did I really have a wolf? If, I wonder what she is waiting for. But for now, I am just happy I’m ready for the moon ball.

AYLAI didn’t know how to put words to what I felt in that moment. But I had felt something more than Liam kissing me, another presence that gad felt like a part of my soul. Was it really my wolf? She had not spoken, but I felt the need and the want from somewhere deep inside of me. Are they all right? Do I have a wolf who is just waiting to be let out? But what will it take? And why can’t she come out yet, or for years ago?Liam had left my room to get a shower after travelling, and I unpacked my stuff and wanted a shower too. After the shower, I dressed in a pair of white jeans, a light blue top with half-long sleeves, and sneakers. I felt comfortable, and sure I looked good enough, for eating in the dining hall with Liam. Before I left my room, I checked my messages on my phone to see if Dad had messaged me, but he hadn’t yet. So I put it on silent, and put it in my pocket in my jeans, and left the room.

AYLAWhen we get to another hall, I look around and find it in the same design as the rest of the house. I see the Omegas, who had taken my bags, come out of a room further down the hall, but Liam shows me what is a small TV room with a HUGE Flatscreen is, so it is almost like having your own movie theater.“Everything up here is ours. And it is only after agreement with me, and now you, that anyone can go up here.” He tells me, and I nod my head.He shows me our private little kitchen, that are just big enough for cooking or baking. He also has a small office, and tells me I can get one too, if I want. Lastly, he tells me there are five bedrooms, but that he had cleared one out for a place to train. And then he stops.“I know that you are not ready. So for now, this is your Room. There is a walking closet and bathroom.” He tells me as he opens the door that the Omegas had come out from. The room is n

AYLAI am so nervous I can barely stand on my legs, but Liam reaches me his hand and squeezes it softly to reassure me.As we walk over to them, I think it is a good thing that they are all smiling. Liam doesn’t let go of my hand when he hugs his mom, so I am sort of pulled into the hug as well. I giggled nervously, and Liam’s Mom laughed too.“Careful, Liam.” She says Motherly and he chuckles.“I am careful, I just know how nervous she is.” He says, and his Mom smiles softly, before looking at me.“Hello, Darling, I am Evelyn, but call me Eve. You have probably guessed that I am Liam’s Mother. And we are so happy to meet you.” She says with a warm smile and gives me a hug.“Hello, Eve. I am Ayla, adopted daughter of the Beta at River Ash.” I tell her, deciding I might as well get it out there.“Adopted? That’s rare in our world.&rdquo

LIAM‘Alpha! Finally! It is about time.’ Daniel bursts into the mindlink, the second we are close enough, for him to reach me through it.‘Wow, easy boy, I have not been gone that long. What is going on?’ I answer.‘Your mother is driving me crazy, asking if I have heard from you every few hours!’ he answered, and I laughed.‘Sorry, man, you know how she is.’ I say, and he sighs.‘I am guessing no luck? Or you would have been gone longer.’ He says, assuming I didn’t find my mate.‘Well, actually. I would like for you and Harper to meet us when we arrive, to welcome your new Beta female and your new Luna.’ I tell him.‘You are serious? You both finally found your mates.’ He asks.‘We did. Harper won’t be the only girl in the house anymore.’ I tell him.‘That is awesome, congratulat

AYLAIt was the second night in a row I didn’t sleep. The kiss had woken up something inside me I couldn’t explain. When we had finally parted, I was breathless, and so was he.After the kiss, we just stood there for a few minutes before I clumsily said I needed to get back to my room. And here I am, lying in the bed, awake, and the sun is rising outside.I decided I didn’t need to change, but I found a hoodie to go with my sweatpants. And got my stuff ready for leaving, and it knocked on my door just as I was done.Liam looked as tired as I felt, and I got worried about him.“Are you okay?” I ask softly and walk over to him, and he smiles.“You are not the only one who doesn’t sleep.” He whispers and chuckles, and I didn’t know what to say to that.“Hey, don’t look so guilty.” He told me as he closed the door.“But it is kind of my f

AYLA Lily and William both bullied me for years. Well, William didn’t do it much, but he never helped me either. And I am sure in the end Lily did it out of jealousy, but no matter what they did, they still are my family.“Of course you can come, Dad. All of you.” I tell him, and I see Liam smile.“Thank you, sweetheart. I know they treated you badly, but I promise you they won’t again.” Dad says softly.“They're still my brother and sister, no matter what they done. But Dad, it won’t be tolerated that they do it again.” I tell him. And Liam nodded his head.“They won’t, I promise.” He answer.“Good, let us know when you're on the way here,” I tell him, and he says that he will as soon as Lily is well enough to travel. When the call ends, I am not sure of what to say. Alpha Grayson wasn’t a great Alpha, but he was not a bad one
