Julian had lost a lot of weight.

The confidence I remembered was gone. He looked exhausted, and his voice shook when he spoke.

"Elena, please come home with me."

"We're divorced."

I held out the final divorce decree.

"Julian, have you forgotten? You signed those papers yourself."

He didn't take it. He just stared at me.

"I'll give you everything I have left. Whitmore Group can be rebuilt. If you come back, I'll give up everything else."
