Chapter Two

"What do you mean they're intruders? I thought we got rid of everyone? Haven't they all learnt to stay away?" Ryan hissed angrily as he wondered why any wolf in their right mind would cross his territory even after the scary stories surrounding him.

"I guess they all think the stories are just exaggerated rumours. Also, we have reasons to believe that they plan on attacking unsuspecting people but I already told the men to prepare and we'll go get them later tonight," Adrian, Ryan's beta and closest friend informed him.

"There's no need for that Adrian, I'll do it myself," Ryan replied and Adrian frowned.

"You can't do that Ryan. They're on the outskirts of town and going there all by yourself is very dangerous," Adrian argued and Ryan let out a frustrated sigh.

"They're here because they don't believe the rumours. So I'll go ahead and let them see for themselves that the rumours are true so they can go ahead and warn the others not to trespass. Also, I need an excuse to get out of this place so I don't lose my mind and if what you're worried about is me getting upset and losing control, then you can be rest assured Adrian, I won't hurt anybody," Ryan assured although deep down, he knew his assurance held little to no weight at all.

Adrian knew Ryan's anger and temper wasn't something anyone could control, even Ryan himself and he knew letting him go all by himself to the outskirts of the pack was a dangerous and reckless decision but he could not bring himself to argue any further with his friend because he knew that even the slightest squabble would awaken a horrifying beast and the last thing he wanted was getting to that point.

"I'll come with you," Adrian offered and Ryan immediately broke into a short laugh.

"Do you have a death wish buddy? Why would you want to risk your life?" Ryan blurted and Adrian rolled his eyes.

"I really don't think you should go by yourself. What if something happens and you end up getting mad and moving into town? The rumours about you are already terrible as it is but imagine you showing your own people that horrible side of yourself? It won't end well Ryan," Adrian said, trying to reason with Ryan.

"You can't change my mind Adrian. I'll leave when night falls so I can get rid of them before noon tomorrow. As usual, please attend to any pressing issue during my absence and also, keep absence a secret so no one freaks out. I know I'm scary and all but I still have feelings," Ryan replied with a small smile before walking out of the room and heading towards his bedroom.

Ryan's heavy breathing could be heard from miles away. He was trying very hard to control his temper but as he had come to understand, his fury wasn't something he had any control over and this fact never failed to make him even angrier. He hated himself and sometimes wished he could just end his life but whenever he remembered that his mother had gotten killed while trying to protect him, he couldn't bring himself to do it as the last thing he wanted to do was disappoint her even more than he already has.

His eyes scanned through the woods carefully, waiting patiently for the next wolf to attack. As soon as he had arrived towards the outskirts, the rogues had immediately jumped at him almost as if they were waiting for him to arrive. He managed to shake them off with his strength before shifting and now, he's carefully looking out for them and waiting for their next move.

He almost pitied the poor unsuspecting rogues that daringly attacked because he knew once he started, there was no stopping him. The minute his anger is tickled, the only thing he sees is blood and until he kills every breathing thing around him, he wouldn't return to normal. This is why he most of the time forbade his warriors and Adrian from being anywhere next to him whenever he got blindsided by his anger and he also stayed away from people to avoid committing a mass murder cause he knew he couldn't be stopped. After all, he is the demented Alpha of the Graymoon pack.

A rustling sound from Ryan's left quickly caught his attention. He quickly charges towards where the sound came from and is jumped at by an awaiting rogue. Both Ryan and the rogue wrestle for dominance as they tried tearing eachother apart but unlike normal rogues that Ryan had dealt with in the past, this one in particular was incredibly strong and wasn't exactly easy to kill like he had thought.

Ryan struggled to push the rogue off him but realised that something about his opponent's blood red eyes had weakened him and he couldn't bring himself to use all of his strength. The rogue had successfully pushed his claws into Ryan's abdomen and even when Ryan tried using his claw to scratch back and get out of his opponent's grip, he just couldn't and just when he saw himself getting killed by the insanely strong and dominant wolf, something weird happened.

A feeling of deja vu hits Ryan out of nowhere as he slowly felt himself getting trapped in his own body just like it happened whenever he was about to lose his mind completely but the only difference was, this time, it felt very similar to the first time he had lost control which was twenty years ago on the night he had lost his mother.

The rogue wolf noticed the intense glow in his victim's eyes and he immediate sensed that was his cue to run but before he could, he noticed how his victim slowly grew two times bigger than he already was and just when he thought of bolting away for his dear life, a sharp claw is pushed into his throat and the next thing he knew, his almost lifeless body is lying on the ground in his own pool of blood.

Ryan watched as the rogue switched back into his human form. His heart dropped to his stomach when he saw just how deeply his claws had pierced into his opponent's throat, with the rogue's head almost detached from his body and although he knew it was either him or the rogue, he still couldn't accept that he was capable of cutting a person into two halves with only his claws.

Unknown to Ryan, he was being watched by two other rogues who had witnessed their friend's brutal murder. They both decided against fighting back as it would only get them killed but at the same time, they feared their retreat would also lead to their death as they had failed to carry out the mission given to them by their leader and if there was one thing their leader hated, it was most definitely failure to complete a mission.

Ryan starts to regain control of his body and mind as whatever it was that normally possessed him slowly went back to sleep and when he turns back into his human form, he realises that the rogue had also severely injured him and now that he was normal again, he was starting to lose a lot of blood.

He fell to the ground tired and tried to reach out to his already torn clothes so he could at least use them to control the bleeding from his stomach. He also throws a piece of torn clothing over his exposed area before dragging his tired body towards a tree and resting his back on it for support.

"It's already dawn," he muttered to himself, hoping someone would pass by where he was although he knew not that many people came towards the outskirts of the pack in order to avoid running into rogues.

He looked down at his wound and noticed the bleeding wasn't stopping anytime soon. He let out a frustrated sigh, mentally preparing himself for the worst case scenario which was his death. At least with his death, his people can be free from a terrifying leader like himself. He couldn't bring himself to fear death as he knew deep down that dying was the most appropriate punishment he deserved for all the innocent people he had hurt over the years.

In his drowsy state, he started to reminisce about how his life was before his mother's death. Although his memories weren't as clear anymore since he was only a child, he could still clearly remember how happy he was and how loved he was by his mother. He still couldn't understand why everything had suddenly gone wrong.

He had always wondered why the former Beta had tried to kill him, even going as far as killing his mother just to get to him and why his mother, who as far as he remembered was the Alpha, couldn't defend herself from him. He also wondered why his temper was so uncontrollable and why he always lost his mind whenever he got extremely upset or defensive. He recalled how at first, he had unconsciously murdered a few innocent people because of his anger and how the people around him had slowly detached themselves away from him in order to stay alive.

Letting out a shaky breath, Ryan's life flashed before his eyes and he couldn't help but be filled with regret and sadness and just when he was about to shut his eyes and give up, an unfamiliar voice pierced through his ears.

"Oh my goodness!" Isabel screamed in both fear and shock as Amelia ran as quickly as she could towards the injured werewolf.

"Hey, hey, hey! Please open your eyes! Keep your eyes open!" Amelia yelled desperately, tapping him on his face as aggressively as she could and when Ryan finally managed to open his eyes, he looked up at the person in front of him and for a split second, they both froze.

"Mate!" They muttered simultaneously with both of them staring intensely at eachother but before Ryan could say anything else, he lost consciousness and blacked out completely.
