Chapter 06

Luckily, they found a small elf house whom Kenshi had asked the elves if Mizuko could stay the night inside their humble home. The elves were hesitant for some moment until they saw a familiar token on the left side of his belt. 

When he notices their eyes gone wide, he simply brought a finger over his lips and the elves nodded. Mizuko abruptly looks at him and he shifted his gaze to the side.

"Well, you must head inside and change your unusual clothing, human girl," says the woman elf. Then she turns to her daughter elf. "Elva, please ensure our guest's comfort while she stays the night in our home."

"I-I just need a place to stay you don't have to--"

"It is our pleasure to help you, dear human. Run along now since it is almost the night."

Before Mizuko gets dragged by Elva, she glances at Kenshi who just gave a smile. Once the girl was out of view he shifted his back to the elves in front of him. They had just lowered their heads.

"Your highness, we apologized for not recognizing you the very moment we've taken a glimpse of your face," says the male elf. He seemed to be the man of the house. 

"Please raise your heads," he says. "I've not much in my pretty mind right now and this is Pinress. You can disregard my title but I just need the human girl safe for the night. I'll be around and you don't have to treat her nicely too."

"If you do not mind your highness, why are you with a human girl? Are you not supposed to--"

"Shh!" He immediately covered both of the elves' mouths, playfully sneering at them. "The crown prince of Yami won't be capable of understanding and ruling the depths of his kingdom if he sits still in his empty castle. As they always say, experience is the best teacher."

Kenshi sees bright smiles on the elves' faces before he turned his back on them. In a blink of an eye, he disappeared right before them. They know how great the next King of Yami will be and so he is respected.

Inside the Elve's bathroom, Mizuko kept thinking at the sudden change of how they dealt with Kenshi's request for her to stay the night. Something was fishy. It makes her think he could have sold her to these elves and she could get eaten any day or when she falls asleep!

Mizuko shakes her head, swallowing hard. No! She should not jump into whatever weird stuffs her brain is feeding her. She should trust a little! 

"Remember what they say! Don't judge others by the way they look! Elves are nice!" she tells herself, breathing in and out. "We had a deal! He will protect me!"

After her bath, Elva gave Mizuko clean clothes. It was just weird how one covers her nipples with a piece of silk, tying it at the back. In her case, she let Elva tie hers. In her world, silks are expensive and this fine silk in her chest would cost a lot.

"Do you call your mother for her to tie your--" and Mizuko made a motion of her hand indicating the silk. This made Elva laugh.

"Oh no! I can always tie it in the front and slowly move it. And everyone knows elves have magic!"

"Oh... right," she softly says. It almost left her mind that elves are magical creatures. 

"You should continue to get dressed. My mother will sure call for us for dinner soon," Elva told her, the elf's voice so sweet.

"Thank you for lending me your clothes."

"I am not lending them. I am giving it to you." This surprised Mizuko, her face turned a little edgy. "Elves do not wear again clothes in which humans used. It is just the law of this world."

"Why is that?" she asked.

"Those you are wearing are clothes of the humans. I had to use my magic to make those but I am sure that I've not left any trace of my scent for your fellow humans." Elva looked down. "Humans do not get along with creatures from the dark. They consider us demonic forces but it is them who behave like cruel monsters-- of course, I am not generalizing. It is just how the majorities are. How can you not know of that?"

"I am not from this world. I happen to have time slipped or someone from this world teleported to my world and now I have a message to relay."

"Not from this world? I've not heard of any other world than Souzou."

Mizuko frowns. How come Elva not know of the other world and Kenshi knows it? She sucks in air, thinking hard. It could be that some know and some do not.

"I am sorry. I bumped my head a couple of days ago. I must be confused."

"Is that so? I can try and use healing ma--"

"No! I am sure this is just temporary! I-I will get better." She displays a nervous smile. "I think we should go help your mother."

It was a good thing that Elva had respected her decision not to use healing magic on her. She didn't know that healing magic existed. If this was the other world, people would kill just to have such power to your heal fast. Maybe this is why there's no power like that in her world. People in her world are cruel anyway.

At a tree nearby the elve's house, Kenshi sits guard with his Kebano. Zed keeps telling him that the lady has royal blood in her from the Light. The white Kebano proves it but what he is intrigued about is why someone from Chikyuo has royal blood? 

"I wonder what has occurred in the past on the other side. Which empire did she belong to?" Kenshi asked.  "If she has that Kebano and she doesn't smell all Light, she must be a bud from a forbidden love."

"Fuwa Fuwa!"

"I know! That's what I am dying to know." A corner of his mouth lifted up. "She must have not known this is her birth world. It would be amusing to see what happens now that she's back. It makes my ears want to come out."
