Melanie rushed inside the crowd of students and her eyes widened in shock by watching Arthur and his other group mates beating Adrian badly.
They were 5 and Adrian was alone. Punches after punches, kicks after kicks. Blood was dripping from Adrian's nose and corner of lips. He had almost turned unconscious
"You f#cker," Arthur yelled and again punched him on his stomach but Melanie noticed Adrian wasn't reciprocating. He was letting them beat him.
Instead of helping or saving Adrian, students were enjoying the scenario. Melanie fisted her palms and stormed towards them.
"Get away from him, you a#shole," Melanie screamed at Arthur, while pushing him away from Adrian with her full force.
Arthur clenched his jaw and stepped closer to her. He grabbed her ponytail and pulled them harshly, making her hissed.
"So his f#cking lover has come to save him," Arthur smirked, making his group mates and some students laugh.
Melanie gritted her teeth and forcefully tried to snatch her hair from his hold but instead of leaving her hair, Arthur pushed Melanie on the ground vigorously.
She badly yelped as her bare knees and elbows grazed against the roughness of the ground because she fell on them.
Everyone laughed whereas Arthur chuckled, he was again about to grab her hair but this time before he could touch her, Arthur felt someone grab his arm and spin him around.
Those nefarious emerald eyes which had turned deadly, were gawking at him. Adrian clenched his jaw hard and then hitted Arthur with every might of his existence.
He hovered over him and started hitting him with pure madness. His aura turned demeanour who wanted nothing but Arthur's end, his life, his blood.
"How f#cking dare you hurt her? How?"
Every single person present there flinched at his roaring voice and even got afraid because they had seen Adrian losing his calm but right now he was looking murderous.
Adrian continued to hit him, without giving him a single second to attack back. Nobody dared to step forward to stop him because they knew Adrian could hurt anyone at that time, without caring about anyone or anything.
"Rian, stop," Melanie grabbed his arm and tried to pull him away from Arthur before he could kill him but her strength was nothing as compared to that insane beast.
He continued to attack Arthur until Melanie screamed and hugged his fist tightly.
"Leave him,"
Losing himself in his anger, Adrian raised his other fist to attack whoever had tried to stop him but as soon as his burning predacious gaze met with those hazel eyes which were shimmering with tears, he came back to his senses.
"Teachers are coming here," A student announced and everyone started running away from that parking lot.
Melanie also grabbed Adrian's hand and tried to pull him with her but he didn't move.
"Let's go from here, Rian. For my sake," She pleaded, looking into those blazing emerald eyes and after sending a barbaric glance to Arthur, he let her drag him.
"Have you lost it, Adrian? What the hell is wrong with you?"
Adrian heard Melanie scolding her in a bitter tone. They were hiding in that old abundant library section of the school.
"You could've gotten hurt more badly," She was cleaning the blood on his nose and lips with her handkerchief.
Little drops of tears were rolling down from her eyes as she was scolding him for his stupidity while cleaning his wounds and he was just staring at her.
Melanie had managed to get the antiseptic ointment from the school's dispensary because she couldn't let Adrian's name come out in all of this. The school's authority would surely suspend him after knowing about all of this, especially when his reputation was everything but good in school.
"You had just promised me in the morning that you won't fight with anyone today but here.... " She uttered, rubbing the ointment in the corner of his lips.
"I hadn't started the fight and I didn't even fight back when they were beating me until you came," He spat, frowning.
She knew, it was true. She had witnessed him not fighting back until she got into the picture. Melanie didn't say anything further but just treated his wounds.
She didn't know why her tears weren't stopping. She hated crying but right now they seemed the only solution to endure everything.
He silently observed the tears flowing down from her golden cheeks and then held her wrist which she was using to cure his wound.
Melanie finally travelled her teary eyes at him as he stopped her. Adrian took the ointment from her and carefully stretched her knees, where he saw those scratches were present there.
Melanie noticed his jaw set for a second before his features calmed with a sigh and then he started applying the ointment on her knees.
She hissed because it was burning. He looked at her glossy eyes and said calmly after focusing his gaze again on her knees.
"Stop being so fragile, Melanie. It's doesn't suit you,"
She scoffed at his statement and retorted back.
"I'm not fragile but it's hurting,"
Hearing her, he turned his touch on her more gentle and then treated her elbows.
Capping the tube of ointment, he shoved it on her lap and then gave her a glare.
"Don't ever think about coming in between my fights," He warned her, making her stunned.
"But he was going to almost k... "
"Kill me? But he didn't and even if he did, that's not your concern, so stay the hell away from it. I'm giving you last warning,"
Melanie, for the first time felt so hurt with his words. He got up on his feet and she also followed his action but her knees ached.
She yelped and his fists firmed, hearing her hissing in pain.
"And as I have told you earlier, if it's involving aunt Lissa, then I won't back off. I won't let your stupid anger issues to hurt her in any way," She spat at him, angrily.
Adrian's gaze darkened. He tossed towards her and gripped her waist in a little painful hold.
"Do as I say, Melanie. It'll be for your own good or else I'll make you regret it very bad," He rasped in his deep low tone.
More tears gathered into her eyes. What had gotten into him today? Why was he behaving like that?
"I won't and do whatever the heck you're capable of doing, Adrian. I'm and I'll never be afraid of you,"
His gaze darkened more at her words. His grip tightened around her waist. She gasped feeling that pain but didn't break their eye contact, until he sighed and then pulled her into a soft hug.
She teared up more and started hitting on his back with her fists.
"I'll kill you. I hate you, you je#k,"
He chuckled hearing her that little volcano bursting in his arms and then said.
"But the way you jumped in the middle of the fight today, it didn't seem like that,"
She pulled back from the hug, hearing him and then lightly punched his chest.
"Of course I hate you and I'll kill you one day but that doesn't mean I'll let anyone else kill you. It's only my right,"
He grinned at her words.
"Fine but now, what we're going to answer mum, how did we get these injuries?" He asked.
Melanie rubbed her teary eyes and he startled when he saw an evil smirk formed on her tiny face.
"What?"
She didn't reply but just smirked, making him understand something big was going inside her tiny head.
"What? You both fell from his bike?" Melissa's eyes widened in shock, as she gazed at both of their states.
Melanie slowly nodded. Melissa immediately checked Melanie carefully.
"Anie, have you got any big wounds? Let's check you to the doctor? How many times I've told you to ride carefully, Rian," Melissa sounded extremely worried.
Adrian rolled his eyes mentally. That lying machine and her plan.
"I'm sorry, Anie. I'm sorry on his... "
Melanie cupped Melissa's face and sushed her.
"Keep quiet, my beautiful highness. I'm completely fine but yeah, my personal driver has gotten some injuries so let's check his wound and don't tell dad about this. He'll get worried for nothing please," Melanie uttered.
"But Melanie... "
"Please," She gave her puppy eyes, making Melissa sigh.
"Fine but please tell me if you're hurt somewhere,"
"I'm completely fine. Your evil but a little bit handsome son didn't let anything happen to me," Melanie giggled and kissed Melissa's cheek.
Melissa smiled and then pecked her forehead and then looked at Adrian who was just gazing at them.
"Don't be so jealous, driver. Just accept it, she loves me more than you," Melanie taunted him, earning a glare from him.
Melissa smiled and checked his wounds. Her mother's heart ached by watching the cuts and brushes on his face. She gently touched it and sighed
"I'll get the first aid kit,"
He nodded and Melissa left.
"Why did you lie to mum?" He spat after Melissa left.
"Then were you expecting me to tell her the truth so that she could get more hurt than she already is by watching us like this?" She retorted back.
"But you could have made any other lie but this?"
"And what lie do you suggest, Mr Salvatore?" She faked a smile until
"Like he was fighting with his school's seniors, who has beaten him like beating a dog, as he's one,"
Both of them turned their heads and their faces turned cold by watching a sniggering Daniel.
"Right, Melanie? " He walked towards them.
"But as far as I remember Adrian has beaten your so-called friends and his seniors like they're dogs and I guess you're one of them, so why don't we test Adrian's fighting skills in this dog in front of us too, right, Salvatore? "
Adrian laughed at her comeback and Daniel gawked at them.
"And now don't you dare to tell Dad or anyone else about what has happened to school today or else I won't hesitate to tell Dad about your precious habit of not been able to keep your f#cking d#ck inside your pants, after seeing every girl in school,"
Daniel peered at her, after her warning
"You'll pay one day for supporting him so much, Melanie," Daniel almost threatened her.
Melanie gave him a calm smile before answering.
"I'll gladly pay him. You don't have to worry about it, my dear step brother," Is all she said before walking away from there.
Adrian gave him a teasing smirk and also walked away from there. The viciousness in Daniel's gaze turned abrupt as he saw Adrian's disappearing figure.
"That day will soon come, Melanie and you'll left with nothing to pay your precious Adrian,"
"Yeah, I know it's after two days and this year, my Dad wants to celebrate my birthday on a big level because according to him, 18th birthday is very important in every person's life," Melanie uttered on the phone, standing at her windowShe was looking at the dark night sky where the clouds were roaring and thundering. The rain was about to fall at any second. "Wow, that's sound like this year you're gonna get a lot of gifts," Melanie giggled, hearing her friend Cara. "Hey, by the way, aren't you excited about Evan's gift?" Melanie understood the teasing tone in her voice. She rolled her eyes before answering. "He used to be my crush when I was just 12, Cara. Now he's my best friend," "Really? Just a friend?" Cara teased her more. "Okay fine. I still like him but yeah, I'm not making the first move because I don't want our 6 years of friendship to get ruined," Melanie said, staring at the light scattering all over the sky. "Mel, can I ask you something if you don't mind?""Ye
"I like you, Melanie. Will you be my girlfriend?" Melanie was too shocked to process what Evan had just said. Did he just propose to her? Her one and only crush and best friend? Evan extended the rose to her more and uttered, showing his charming smile. "I like you from the very second we had become friends but never had the courage to ask you out but now when you're turning 18, I want our friendship to become something more beautiful and endearing," A smile broke out on Melanie's face hearing his alluring words, after all who wouldn't like hearing all of that from their crush's mouth. "We're waiting, Mel. Don't break the poor boy's heart," Kylie uttered, teasing. Melanie smiled, widely and extended her palm to take the rose from him but a voice of something breaking grabbed her attention. She tossed her head and her eyes widened by watching Adrian, who was practically glaring at Evan like he was going to murder him at any second. Adrian got up on his feet and dashed out from
"Why are you looking so sad, Mel?" Evan asked. They both were sitting on the empty playground of their school. Melanie had accepted his proposal, yesterday and even apologised to him for leaving like that in the middle to follow Adrian which Evan understood and assured her with a smile. "Don't tell me I have pressurized you yesterday to accept my proposal, in front of everyone. I'm sorry if... ""Hey... no.. It's not like that, Evan. You know I like you, both as a friend and as a person and I am more than happy that you've finally taken this step between us, which I have always wanted but was too afraid to take," She said "Then why are you not looking happy at all, Mel?" Melanie sighed at his question and answered honestly. "Yesterday, I had a very ugly fight with Adrian," "And that's why you're sad?" He looked slightly displeased. Melanie nodded. "Mel, I've told you so many times that he's not a good guy. The people with whom he gets associated with, the things he does, are rea
Cladding in a satin white gown, which was beautifully complementing her tanned skin, Melanie was staring at her own reflection in the mirror. "You're looking so beautiful, Anie," Melanie sighed and tossed her head to see Melissa's smiling face. Melissa had readied her for her birthday party. She had even gifted her a beautiful pendant which Melanie decided to wear for her birthday party. "Thank you," Melanie answered, weakly smiling which didn't go unnoticed by Melissa. "Anie, what has happened? You're not looking happy, my child,"Melanie shook her head and remained quiet. Melissa made her look at her. "I know my Anie has turned a big girl today but she will forever be my little Anie, who can share anything with me without any hesitancy,"Hearing her words, Melanie just hugged her tightly. "Rian isn't talking to me. We had a very bad fight," She said. "What?" Melissa took out her face from her chest. "Adrian isn't talking to you?" Melanie nodded and answered. "I had slapped
After calming herself down, Melanie went inside her birthday party. "Hey! Melanie. Where were you? I was looking for you?" Melanie saw Evan coming towards her. She shook her head before answering"I went out to take some fresh air,""Are you alright? I mean, is everything fine?" He asked, worriedly looking at her. She just slightly nodded but then her eyes shifted behind Evan and her hurt turned into anger by watching Adrian smiling and laughing with Kylie, like he hadn't just hurted her so badly. All this while she was being worried about him but he didn't even care. He didn't even care to listen to her. "Melanie! Let's go and dance. Everyone is dancing there and enjoying," "But where?" Melanie asked, confused. Evan smiled and then dragged her with him somewhere. It was one of their spare guest rooms and most of her friends and classmates were there dancing in couples, kissing each other and she noticed, some were even drinking. No elder was present there and Melanie completel
"Get the hell out of my room, Adrian Salvatore," Melanie yelled at him, who was gawking at her while standing at her door. Melanie abruptly wiped her cheeks with the back of her palm and got up from the bed. She walked towards him and snapped her fingers at him. "I said, get the fuck out of my room, Adrian," She blurted out, staring at his emerald eyes which had reddened with intoxication. Melanie tossed her head away from him in disgust by finding him intoxicated. She turned around to walk back to her bed but he grabbed her arm. Melanie gasped in pain, as his hold was aggressive on her. He yanked her closer and glared at her while gritting his teeth abruptly. "The hell are you doing? Leav...""Shut the fuck up," Melanie flinched at his roaring voice. He gripped her both arms more painfully and bowed his head to gaze into her hazel orbs. "You'll never get closer to that bastard, Evan ever again, Melanie," Melanie was shocked at his statement. "And you'll never let that mother
Melanie heard her father's growling voice. She immediately got up and pulled the bed sheet to cover herself. Her teary eyes enlarged, seeing her father punching and slapping Adrian badly. Everyone started gathering inside that room, including Melissa and her heart numbed by watching that scenario before her. She stormed towards them and tried to stop Melanie's father. "Please don't hurt him. Please tell me what he has done. Please don't hurt my son, Peter, " Melissa joined her hand while crying. "Your bastard of a son tried to force himself on my daughter," Melanie's dad was burning with anger and rage. Melissa's gaze bewildered, hearing him. "No, he c.. couldn't. He can never.. ""I've seen it with my own eyes and look at Melanie's state, Melissa," Melissa teared her eyes and looked at Melanie who was crying badly. Her lips were bleeding, her hairs had messed up. She was shivering vigorously while clutching that bedsheet around her. "I'll kill this bastard for even thinking ab
"So... you're afraid of me and my fucking touch but not his... " "What's need to talk about? You're already going to let that so called love of your life to fuck you, so why don't you let me have you first?" "I won't let any fucking person to have you.. Never..." "Adrian stop...""ADRIAN... " Her eyes shot open. Her body was shivering. Cold sweat had formed all over her face and neck. It's been 4 years...Yes.. 4 YEARS had passed since that incident which had shredded her being but it was still haunting her, even in her closed eyes. Melanie got up from her bed and the first thing which caught her eyes was her own reflection in the mirror. She walked towards it and saw those tears, which were silently flowing down from her eyes and the fact that she had no control over them had made her feel pity on herself. In these 4 years, her entire life had changed completely. In these 4 years, she had witnessed her everything, her happiness, her smile getting teared apart from her. That nigh
