10. A friendly gesture

★ELAINE'S POV★

After Beta Adrian left with the omega, I scuffed back to the fortress, straight to my room, absentmindedly waving at the people that bowed to pay respect to me on the way.

I pressed down on the doorknob to my room, and it creaked open to reveal Tania twirling around with a wide grin splayed across her beautiful face.

On noticing my presence, she hurriedly walked over to me, then curtsied. “It is an honor to be blessed with your presence, the most beautiful and graceful Luna.”

Considering the norm, her action was meant to bring a smile to my face, but this time, it didn't. I heaved a sigh and headed straight to the four-poster bed, which seemingly brings me comfort. But before I could even think of sitting down, Tania closed the door and dashed to my side with a worried expression on her face.
