Seraphina’s POV
“What the hell are you doing?”
Lucien’s voice cut through the room like a whip, loud and angry.
I jumped, my breath catching in my throat. Lucien’s wolf ears twitched violently, his fists balled at his sides, his chest rising and falling like he was barely holding himself back.
“Move away from her,” Lucien growled.
“Why should I?” Marcus’s voice was low, challenging, dangerous. His thumb brushed the edge of my jaw, his lips still inches from mine. “This is personal between me and her.”
Lucien’s eyes burned, hazel with dangerous flecks of gold. “Move...Away. From....Her.”
“Or what?” Marcus smirked, pushing his luck. "You’ll hurt me? In front of her?”

Seraphina’s POV“No. No way. I am not living with you.” I shook my head so hard I thought it might pop off."You don't have a choice cause I say so.""Your mom wont be happy with this...aren't you meant to be with Ayla?""Oh that! No one can force me. I am not attracted to Ayla." His eyes rolling down my body up and down sending me an embarrassing and silent message. My cheeks turned red. He smirked knowing he got the reaction he wanted.“Lucien, listen to me...I have a life. I have my own house. I need my own space.”“You can have your space…in my house.” He grinned like he’d just won the grand prize. “You’ll be safer that way.”“No!” I stomped my foot like a toddler. "You can't just control my life as you please.""I can....have you forgotten the 'I'll do anything to make up for what happened to Ayla and Orion?"I kept quiet. This just made my undercover work harder. How do I report to
“Excuse me?” I sputtered, still holding my burning cheek. “How dare you?”The woman turned around, her heels clicking hard on the floor as she marched towards me. Her glare sliced right through me. “What did you just say?”I straightened, feeling my anger boil over the fear. “I said...how dare you slap me when it was your son...your precious son...who was pinning me to the wall like some deranged animal?”Her eyes narrowed. “Deranged animal? My son? An animal? Watch your tongue, little girl.”“No, you watch yours!” My fists clenched at my sides. “You barge in here, dragging him out like some soap opera villain, and then have the nerve to slap me like I’m the one who begged him to kiss me? Are you serious right now?”Her nostrils flared. “You must not know who I am.”“I don’t care who you are!” I shouted, my voice cracking. “What gives you the right to hit me?”Her hand shot up again, faster this time, aiming for another slap. I braced myself but the slap never landed.A firm hand caug
“You’re useless,” Dax muttered, slamming yet another stack of files onto my desk. “How can someone be this slow?”I gritted my teeth and rolled my eyes. “Maybe if you’d explain what half these abbreviations mean...”“Figure it out,” he snapped, not even looking at me. “You want to work here? You swim or you drown.”I groaned, flipping through the file he just tossed at me. My eyes drifted to his desk again, looking at that calendar... That circled date. The 19th....Full moon.Something about it felt creepy. Was there going to be a wolf hunt or something like that where they kill a massive number of humans?I glanced at him, then back at the calendar. Should I ask?I cleared my throat. “Hey…Dax?”“What?”I hesitated. “What’s going on…on the 19th? Why’s it circled?”He froze. For the first time since I’d known him, he actually stopped moving. His fingers stayed on the paper, his entire body tense like I’d just hit a nerve.“That’s none of your business.”“It kind of feels like my busine
Seraphina’s POV“You’re late,” Lucien said, with a calm voice, as he stood up to greet her.The woman who walked in didn’t look sorry. She swayed into the room confidently, her hips moving from side to side, and her heels tapping slowly on the floor. She tossed her flawless grey curls over one shoulder and slid into the chair beside Lucien without breaking her perfect, seductive smile.“I thought you’d wait for me,” she purred, crossing one leg over the other as her expensive perfume swirled around the table. “You always wait for me.”Lucien didn’t even flinch. “Let’s get started.”I sat to his right, pretending to look through my notes but really watching every micro-expression on his face, every shift in his body language. I wasn’t here to be his assistant. I was here to read him.“I reviewed the revised contract,” she said, leaning forward just enough to reveal the deep curve of her neckline. “But I thought maybe... we could negotiate a more... personal arrangement.”Lucien didn’t
Seraphina’s POV“I told you to get on the table and spread your legs.”Lucien’s voice was so soft it almost felt like a whisper than an instruction, but it hit me hard. What kind of pervert is he? No shame at all.My feet stayed glued to the floor, my mouth refusing to form words. He sighed, stood up and took a slow step toward me, his eyes never leaving mine. His steps echoed like a countdown to my ears.“You need to be obedient when I give you an instruction,” he whispered in my ears. “Or we can’t work together.”I swallowed hard, shaking my head. “Lucien, this is not...”Without warning, his arms wrapped around my waist, lifting me like I weighed nothing.“Lucien!” I gasped, squirming in his hold, my fists pressing against his chest. He dropped me on the edge of his cold glass table, his grip still firm on my hips as he leaned in close, his lips brushing the shell of my ear.“You’re disobedient, cupcake,” he murmured, the heat of his breath flooding my skin. “I don’t like disobedie
