POV: Seraphina Vale

“What do you mean I’m a werewolf? An Omega? In heat?” I said all at once in disbelief. I sat up like I’d been burned by the sheets of the bed.

Lucien stood there calmly, like he had just told me the sky was blue. He leaned against the counter, arms crossed, adjusting his hair backwards.

“You heard me,” he said. “For some reason, you’re changing. Your body’s reacting. That craving you’re feeling? That’s your first heat.”

I blinked fast. “No. No no no. This is stupid. I can't believe I'm here listening to a wolf trying to make me believe I am one of his kind.”

"Oh really? You still think I am talking trash after I showed you myself as proof that werewolves exist." He muttered, annoyed.

"Many would die to see me in my true form...yet you saw it freely...casually and you don't care."

I tried to soft-pedal to avoid aggravating him to decide to kill me. "I just mean...it's fine if you're a werewolf...you're a handsome and attractive wolf at that... but me? Nope! I am 100% human...and I am totally sure of it."

“You passed out twice. You’re sweating profusely. Your heart is racing and you can’t sit still...oh and I guess your thighs...inbetween your legs...they are aching.” He lifted a brow. “You’re an Omega, and right now, your body wants to mate.”

My face flushed hot. I held my face with my two hands trying to cover my cheeks up. To me, I was just a lady who was looking at the most handsome man in the world, upclose. I mean who wouldn't blush or maybe....

I got annoyed with myself and tried to get up, but my legs wobbled. I stumbled toward the door, but stopped midway, holding the edge of a table. My thighs were really aching and trembled.

“I’m not... I’m not one of you,” I whispered. “I’m human. I have always been human.”

Lucien walked closer, slowly taking his time to observe me more. Then he asked. "What's your name?"

"You don't need to know." I snapped.

He chuckled in disbelief. "I could kill you here....right now...if..."

"Seraphina! My name's Seraphina." I cut him off.

"Are you sure? You know who I am and the kind of influence I have...if you lie to me...I'll make sure you die mercilessly in my hands." He threatened, sliding a hand down my face.

"I'm sure...I'm sure...my name is Seraphina Vale....I swear!"

He smiled and said softly this time.“I can help you...Seraphina."

I looked at him, eyes wide. “Help me?”

He smirked. “Relieve the pressure... Soothe the ache...relieve you of your cravings...I don’t mind. Plus... you’re hot.”

I shot him a death glare. “You think I want you to...? Oh my God! You’re disgusting!”

He chuckled, then came closer to my face, amused. “You say that, but your scent’s already reacting to mine. You’re practically pulling me in.”

“Shut up!” I shoved him hard. He didn’t even flinch. I hit his chest again and again, but he just grabbed my wrists and held them gently, lowering them down.

“You don’t understand what’s happening. But your body does.”

“I don’t care,” I snapped. “I’m not one of you. I’m not some animal. I’m not a monster.”

His smile faded. “We’re not monsters, Seraphina. We’re an evolved breed of wolves that can shift from wolf to human, vice-versa. Big difference.”

“No,” I said, trembling. “You all should be extinct. All of you. You kill people. You hide like cowards. You eat humans...”

“Rogues do,” he cut in sharply. “Not all of us. Don’t confuse what you saw with what I am.”

I backed away, pressing my body into the wall, feeling heat flood through me. It was unbearable. My skin was on fire. My thighs ached the more and my heart beat was so fast I thought it might burst.

Lucien moved to the drawer behind the bar and pulled out a silver pill bottle. He tossed it gently onto the couch.

“Suppressants,” he said. “They’ll calm the heat....makes it easier...for both of us.”

I looked at the bottle like it might bite me. “I don’t want anything from you.”

“Fine! Then suffer.”

He turned, hands on his hips, now pacing.

“Do you think it’s easy for me?” he snapped. “You think I’m not fighting instincts? You think I don’t smell you from across the room and want to tear everything apart to get to you?”

I froze. 'Tearing every part of me?' That wasn't what I wanted...I wasn't ready for heaven yet. He looked serious while saying it so I knew he wasn’t joking.

“You’re not just some girl, Seraphina,” he said, voice lower now. “You’re dangerous...to me...to everyone. You’re like a pup...a ticking bomb, and you don’t even know it.”

Tears pricked my eyes again cause all this wasn't making sense. At that point,

I couldn’t breathe. I quickly rushed to the couch and grabbed the pill bottle with shaking hands and downed two without water.

He walked to the door, opening it without looking back. “You need to leave.”

I looked up at him, confused. “What?”

“Go,” he said, still facing away. “Before I stop being a gentleman.”

Immediately I heard that statement, I bolted out as fast as I could. I ran through the hall barefoot. My heels were gone and my heart felt like it was breaking my ribs.

I didn’t stop until I hit the street, the cold air slapping my face and body.

And even then… I still burned. But one thing I was sure of now; the fact that werewolves existed and they were the cause of 80% murder crimes around. I had to do something about it...kill them all to save humanity.

"How about we leave here and I mark you?"I stared at him trying to process what he had just asked. Lucien didn't wait for my answer. Before my brain caught up, his arms swept under my legs and behind my back, lifting me off the ground like I weighed nothing. My breath hitched."Lucien...!""Hold on," he murmured with a low voice that was strained and urgent. Then the world blurred. Wind rushed past my ears. Buildings became streaks of color. My stomach flipped as Lucien's speed turned the city into a smear of motion. Sirens and human voices vanished behind us. In a blink, the alley disappeared. Another blink we were inside the building, but not through the lobby. Not through normal doors. Lucien pressed his palm against what looked like a blank wall. A hidden panel shifted and a secret entrance slid open then he carried me inside. The space we stepped into wasn't like the rest of Kael Tower. It was dimly lit, fortified with silver-lined walls and thick

Seraphina's POV"LUCIEN...!"My voice tore through the alley just as his claws came down.I didn't even see the exact moment they hit me...my body moved faster than my mind could process. One second I was behind the dumpster, the next I was between them, arms spread, chest lifted, eyes squeezed shut as I braced for the impact of bone and claw. But it didn't come. At least... not the way I expected. There was a sudden jolt... like an electric shock racing through my entire body... followed by an overwhelming heat exploding out of my chest. It wasn't pain. It was blinding, burning power. My vision flashed white and gold, and something inside me answered something inside Lucien.I gasped as I felt the bond. It surged between us like a living thing... a cord snapping tight then glowing. Lucien's claws froze inches from my face. His breath came out in a rough, animal growl that softened into something almost... human."S... Sera...?" His voice vibrated with confusion.I opened my eyes.He w

"Don't you dare try to heal him." His grip on me was iron. It was cold, possessive, wrong. The rogue's arm circled my waist, pulling me back against his chest as if I were some trophy he had already won. His lips hovered too close to my ear, his breath unsettling, carrying a scent that didn't belong to any living thing."Look at him," he murmured, eyes fixed on Lucien as if I didn't exist at all. "So weak. So protective. It's almost... adorable.""Let me go!" I struggled, claws itching beneath my skin, my wolf snarling inside my ribcage. "You're dead if you don't let me go!"He chuckled, tightening his hold. "Empty threats, little healer."My stomach dropped."I'm going to mark you right here," he said calmly, as if he were announcing the weather. "Right in front of him. Let him watch how easily you become marked by someone else."Pure panic flooded my veins."NO!" I twisted in his grip, trying to slam an elbow into his ribs, stomp his foot, bite him, something but his hold was unnatu

'SERA! PLEASE LEAVE...." He looked at me seriously. "Please."He looked at Dax and gave a signal. Dax held me by my hand, taking me out. This only made me more curious. My detective side kept popping questions into my head. I needed to get rid of Dax and find out who was around and why Lucien was panicking.Dax didn't just lead me out, he dragged me. His fingers clamped around my wrist, firm enough to bruise, and the moment we left Lucien's office, his whole body went rigid, shoulders squared like he was walking me through a battlefield."Dax..." I hissed."Not a word," he snapped under his breath, his voice sharper than I'd ever heard. "Just move."His speed nearly forced me into a jog, heels clicking too loudly against the flawless executive floor. My heart slammed against my ribs. Lucien's panic... Dax's urgency... the word rogue ringing in my ears...Something was horribly wrong. We reached the elevator, and Dax finally released me, almost shoving my hand away like it burned him.

‎"First answer this question...do you still hate werewolves? and whose side are you picking?" ‎‎Those questions hit me hard, I stared at him blankly. What is my answer? The silence between us stretched tight, thin, trembling like a thread that could snap with one wrong breath. Lucien didn't move or even blink. He didn't even pretend to hide the way he waited for my answer as if the world hinged on the next words that would leave my mouth. His eyes were molten gold beneath the morning light, flickering like fire looking for fuel."Do you still hate werewolves?" he repeated, voice low, his eyes staring intensely at me. "And whose side are you picking?"My pulse stumbled. My fingers curled against the desk.Whose side am I picking...?His...?Humans...?No one's...? Mine...?My throat bobbed, but no sound came out. There were too many truths sitting beneath my tongue, making my heart beat fast. And under it all... a different thought hammered against my skull.Should I tell him now? Ab

  • The Detective Omega   Chapter 60 :Back to Being PA

‎I woke to the sound of Marcus answering a phone call, his voice low and hoarse like he'd swallowed sandpaper. A screen glow cut through the dim of his room and I blinked against it, palm to my forehead as I sat up. My head throbbed, a dull, post-storm ache. I was in Marcus's place. The scent of coffee and detergent and him clung to the sheets.‎‎"Yeah," he said into the phone. Ten gave a pause. "Fine. Tell them I heard." Another pause, then his jaw flexed. "She's with me, unconscious...I'll talk to her about it when she wakes up...." Click.‎‎"Who was that?" I asked, my voice a rasp.‎‎He turned, trying to school his face into something neutral and failing spectacularly. "SDT...that's by the way...how are you feeling?"‎‎My stomach tightened. "I think I'm fine....So it's the SDT...And?" I looked at him suspiciously.‎‎"They sent their apologies." He tossed the phone on the dresser like it offended him. "For suspecting you. Said they made... a big mistake." He rolled the last wor
