“Please don’t hurt me,” I whispered, my breath shaky, my eyes filled with tears and my cheek swollen due to the sudden sensation that burned it. The man has hit me when I punched him when he came up from behind.

I had no idea what was going on, I was tied to the chair, and the two men pacing across the room like they were waiting for someone.

“So,  we babysit.” One of them asked he paused for a moment to look at me, I had called him blondie in my head while the other one was bald.

“Yes, the boss is going to call and you are going to have to explain why she has a swollen cheek, you could not handle yourself for five fucking minutes, you have to come up from behind after I asked you not to fucking do that.” The bald man yelled, I didn’t dare stare directly at him.

“I will find something to fix it, in the meantime, get over yourself and make sure those men outside have no idea what’s happening,” Blondie stated and more tears streamed down my cheek.

The two men were dressed as electricians, with names attached to their uniforms, I could barely read them, given the fact I didn’t want any of them to know I was staring at them.

The time ticked and all I could hear was the annoying sound of the clock I got as I prayed that Candice would not come back here, I couldn’t handle the thought of anything happening to her.

  Knock knock.

The two men rushed into the room and they glanced at me.

“Who is it, are you expecting anyone.” The bald man asked, his eyes filled with anger, his tone filled with rage and my hands shook at the thought of Candice being the one behind the door.

“Say something.” The blondie yelled and I didn’t speak, I shook my head a few times, unable to speak when more tears streamed down my cheek

I watched as Blondie headed toward the door and suddenly, I could not explain how it happened, blondie was thrown to the wall and someone walked in, I watched as the demure of the room changed, my eyes peered up and they met his.

The stranger from the party, his radiant blue eyes were on mine, his black suit hugged his body softly when my eyes searched through his tattoos, he didn’t look happy.

“You stay right there or I  will kill her.” The bald man yelled, blondie on the other hand was still on the floor, my fear heightened when he pulled out a gun and he pointed it toward me.

I didn’t think the stranger would save me, we had one snack and one kiss, why was he there, is he the boss they had been waiting for, I sounded dumb even thinking about that, he wouldn’t have threatened his boss.

“Please no, I don’t want to die,” I whispered in a shaky voice, so low I doubted if anyone heard what I said, I didn’t want to be taken not like this.

I closed my eyes for a second and I mumbled a silent prayer when I felt the gun being further pressed to my temples, the man was yelling but the stranger didn’t stop, he didn’t care that my life was on the line.

The stakes were high but he didn’t care, his eyes were filled with blood and rage when he stopped in his tracks and he pulled his hand up in the air like he was surrendering.

That’s all it took him to pull out his gun and the splash of blood covered my face, a scream escaped my lips.

“No,” I yelled, my spit mixed with the blood of the man that lay on my floor and the stranger rushed to me. “You killed him, you took his life away.”

The stranger paused to look at me before he returned to take off the ropes.

“You are crying about a man that wanted to hurt you.” He asked, there was a moment of confusion that filled his tone when his eyes met mine. “People like him should be dead.”

“You don’t get to decide that, you don’t get to play God,” I whispered, I could barely look at the man lying beside me and all I cared about was washing my face.

The stranger stopped what he was doing and his eyes met mine again. He moved closer to me, his perfume scented of danger and power.

“I am God sweetheart, you just don’t know yet.” His voice was low and dangerous. What did he mean by that?

I pulled away from him and I helped myself with the rest of the ropes before I rushed into the kitchen and I washed my face, the events of moments ago still playing in my head.

By the time I got to the living room, I saw other people taking the body out, one of them was still alive.

“Who are you?.” I whispered, “How did you know what was happening, did you send the flowers; those men outside my apartment, are they working for you?.” I asked, I watched as the men who held the body stopped in those tracks, like it was a sin taking to the stranger the way I did.

“You ask a lot of questions Aurora.” He said,

The way he said my name was like it was a promise, one that I was never going to escape from.

He looked at me and the apartment and I watched as his jaw tensed.

“You are not safe here.” He said.

  “I know,” I whispered.

“You are coming with me.” He demanded, his eyes holding so many questions.

“I would have to be dead for that to happen, I don’t even know who you are, you could be the monster that has those men hurt me, you killed and you didn’t even care.”

“Aurora.” He said, his tone was firm and low. “You kissed me and now they think you are mine.”

My legs went weak “Who are you.”

“Your protector.” He said and I shook my head.

“You are a murderer,” I whispered when he stopped in his tracks, the man lying on the floor started to stir and my breath hitched.

“You have a choice sweetheart, stay here and die, or come live with me.”

  • The Devil I Kissed    The engagement party

“Damien please, don’t,” I begged, his gun was directly positioned at his brother, his eyes filled with so much anger and he stared at both of us. Dominic is lying lifeless on the floor and here I am, in his living room, begging, his living room and he has a smile on his face. “I will not kill him on one condition, death is too easy for him anyway, what will break him if he sees you with me, you become mine.” “You are getting married to Gabriella.” “Believe me she will be fine and this will be our little secret.” He smiles, “What do you say?” He asked when he pressed the trigger. My heart skipped a beat as I stared at Dominic, what will I do? How did I get here, it all leads to what happened two days ago, it all leads to every event and trauma that took place over the last two days. Two days ago…. Today is the so-called engagement party, Dominic and I have been working on something, something better, we knew that we could handle this and we knew that we could do witho

“It’s all a part of a plan and Dan has not been saying anything about it,” Patrick spoke. “So you have no idea what’s going on, you can’t even ask because you never showed any interest in the mafia and he is convinced someone snitched so he chose not to trust any of you,” I explained and Patrick nodded. After Dominic told me about the news, I called Patrick for tea and here he is, Damien on the other hand is banned from this house, he can do whatever he wants to do, but he should never step in here. “Where is Ricci?” Patrick asked. “Busy,” I mumbled, he has been working nonstop since he walked in and I didn’t want him to be disturbed. “How did he get Gabriella to agree to this arrangement?” “She is dumb for starters and all she wanted us to get married and be a queen and now she thinks Damien will achieve what he wants and she will stand beside him as a queen and if you didn’t know this, she always liked Dominic, he was always the first option but his father never wanted t

Dominic’s POV….. “Good to see you again Dom, who would have thought you and I would be here, I guess you would have been my second in command if you didn’t hurt me in the past,” Damien said and I didn’t speak. He is not going to get any reaction from me. “Are you done, you could walk in here and demand being the leader,” I spoke, he knows he can’t and he it annoyed me, the people pledged loyalty to me and that’s something he can’t force, if he tries to take my throne, they will defend me and he will be left alone with men that he can’t trust, but if I die while we are taking care of this war, then that would be it, he would become leader. Having my face would make him even more feared for, they will he is just like me or even worse and they will bow down to him. “All in good times brother.” He spoke and I didn’t say a word to him, I stared at him for a second, “So as your second in command, I am going to solve this little problem we have with the De Santos mafia.” “Is th

“Hello father, I should have been the one to kill you, death has always been written in your fate yet I always thought I would be the one that will take you back to your lord, I always thought I will be the one to handle it and I guess I made a huge mistake, I should have killed you sooner, I should have made you suffer and I should have made you beg for your life, it’s better late than never because now everything I have thought about doing for you, I will do it to your son Damien,” Dominic explained, his tone was slow, his voice sounded chillingly calming and I felt a wave of shiver run down my spine. His mother was dressed in a black dress and his father in a black suit, they didn’t have any injuries on their body, and I knew that he had poisoned them, it’s the only explanation, or rather drugged them. I gave them one last look before I headed out of the place, we walked like royalty, there were so many person hare, so many of them, I didn’t think he was loved by many, I gues

  • The Devil I Kissed    About to see him

Aurora’s POV….. “What is that?” I asked. “An invitation, from Damien, it’s a funeral and it has our parents' names on it,” Dominic spoke; he didn’t even seem bothered that they could be dead. “He killed them.” I breathed out and he nodded. “They won’t want to create a fake funeral, my father would never do that especially with everything that is going on, my guess would be they pissed him off, didn’t allow him to do what he wanted to do and he had to take matters into his hands, I should have known he would end up doing something like that.” He spoke, he stared at the piece of paper again, he kept staring at it, like there was something but he didn’t speak. He didn’t say a single word. He is about to meet his brother again, that’s tomorrow, the last time he saw him, it didn’t go well and they hated each other so much, I felt the need that they may end up making this funeral even more horrible than it is. “Do we have to do?” “I am the king and you are my wife, I don’t

  • The Devil I Kissed    I had to hurt him

Damien’s POV…… She didn’t know, she would never know about this, she is precious and the most beautiful, he didn’t deserve to be with her, and she is mine, I always said that, she is mine and I am going to get her, I am going to make sure I take everything that belongs to him, he didnt deserve to be happy, he didn’t to have everything that he had and I knew that. “What’s the use of keeping me in hiding for many years if you won’t let me do what I want to do?” I asked, and Mom stared at me with anger in her eyes. She has always been controlling and I knew that, on the other hand Dad is a man of authority, he controlled in his own authority toxic way. I stared at both of them, settled on the chair, I sat on the other side waiting for them to tell me what could be going on. “It’s a process and we are not going to let anything ruin it, you are here for a reason and you know that and you are not about to ruin it for me, for us, and for everyone, you will do as I say, or your f
