Chapter 2

"What the..." Stephen said in shock, it felt like a cat got his tongue, he couldn't even find the right words to complete his statement.

"Who the h*ll is she? And what is she doing on your bed??" Stephen finally asked. To say he was surprised was an understatement.

"Check her," Axel said not answering Stephen's question. Axel walked to the couch and sat on it looking at the lady on the bed.

Stephen finally came out of his shocked state and walked to the bed where she was laying. He checked her temperature, he suddenly frowned, his eyebrows creased and he looked at Axel.

"Why is her body so hot?" He asked, her body was so hot, and her temperature wasn't normal.

"Found her under the rain," Axel said. When he said so, Stephen felt like he was going to go crazy just by trying to match pieces together, his thoughts were spinning.

"What??" He shouted which caused a glare from Axel.

"You don't even know her? You haven't met her before?" Stephen said with a bewildered gaze.

"Axel, are you okay?" He asked. Stephen didn't get a response, Axel stood up and walked to the door.

"Meet me in the study when you are through," with that, he walked out of the room.

Stephen finished up and prescribed some drugs to the butler. He went out of the room and walked towards the study, when he entered he saw Axel sitting there with his eyes shut.

"Why don't you just explain what's happening, I'm tired of trying to guess," Stephen said and slumped on the couch.

"I want her," he said and paused before he continued "And I'm keeping her" was all Axel said, rolling the pen in his hand. That was enough to explain everything that was happening.

"Oh, God..." Stephen said he knew Axel meant it.

Next Day~~

She turned and turned on the bed... Wait!! Am I dreaming?

"Ahhh..." Mirabel shouted, her head aching so badly. The curtains were widely opened, and sun rays shone into the room, causing the room to be so bright. Mirabel shut her eyes immediately, and after a few minutes, she opened them back.

"Where am I"? She asked almost in a whisper, the bed was huge, she looked around the room and suddenly gasped out loud when she saw the figure sitting there on the couch. He sat there looking straight at her.

Axel left the study room earlier this morning and came a few minutes later. Mirabel was still sleeping when he came in. He went to the bathroom to take a shower. After taking a shower he sat on the couch, he was gauging her facial expression since she woke up.

" Who are you? And what am I doing here??" She asked him. He didn't answer her.

"There are easier ways to kill yourself than playing under the rain," Axel said with a straight face

"Huh?" Mirabel didn't understand him at first but later on, she remembered what happened last night. She recalled losing consciousness under the rain yesterday.

After putting the dots together it dawned on her that he might have picked her up.

'But who was he, she didn't know him' Mirabel wondered to herself.

Well, knowing him didn't matter, Mirabel stood up from the bed, she felt dizzy when she stood on her feet, she held the bedside for support, and Axel kept on looking at her.

"Thank you for saving me, I owe you one Sir," she said and bowed. That's where she made a mistake, you should never remind a devil that you owe him. Axel who was silent for a while now finally smirked.

"I'll repay you the next time we meet," she said and walked towards the door, she opened the door to leave, but Axel who was sitting down suddenly stood up and shut the door back.

He pushed her to the wall and trapped her between his hands which were resting on the wall. Everything happened so fast.

"Where do you think you are going to?" He asked, his gaze darkened which made Mirabel shiver in fear.

"I'm... I'm leaving" she said stammering, she didn't know why but she didn't feel safe with him, and that's why she wanted to leave as fast as she could.

Axel smirked "Leaving?" He asked. "I never permitted you,"

Mirabel wanted to run away as far as she could but where to? She was trapped.

" You owe me one?" He said with his deep voice, you could only imagine what thoughts were running through his mind.

Mirabel unknowingly signed a deal with the devil and there was no turning back.

"Ye..yes," she said cowering in fear, 'what was happening, she wondered.

"And..." Axel said but paused for a little before he continued, "You'll repay the next time we meet?" he asked another question, Axel was intentionally using his words to trap her down.

"How do you intend to pay me back?" He asked her with his gaze still on her.

"Money... With money" Mirabel said.

Axel chuckled when he heard her response, just exactly what he expected.

"What if you can't repay me the next time we meet?" Axel finally asked.

"I'll do any other thing" Oh oh, she signed and stamped the deal herself. Mirabel looked down, she couldn't look him in the eyes and talk

Axel smiled mischievously " OK," he said " It's settled then, if you fail to repay the next time we meet then I get whatever I want from you," he said and finally released her

"You can leave," he said

Mirabel was happy when he finally permitted her to go. "Thank you," she said and scurried her way out of the room.

Axel put his hands in his pockets and stood there with all grace, this would end just the way he wants it to.

Mirabel went out of the room, she started walking fast so that she can leave, she didn't want to wait another minute in this house. She suddenly stopped walking when she realized that she didn't know her way out of the house. The house was so enormous.

What was she going to do now? She didn't want to walk back to the room and ask him how she could find her way out.

Mirabel looked around, where should she follow, she was determined not to go back to ask him, she couldn't be with him alone in a room, while she was still wondering where to follow, Axel who was inside the room came out and walked past her.

"Follow me," he said. He knew she wouldn't be able to find her way out of the house.

Axel walked her out and told his chauffeur, Enoch to drop her off.

Axel went to his study room after she left, ' naive and innocent I must say just like the first time, he muttered to himself, almost in a whisper, he smiled recalling old memories.
