Chapter Thirty-four

After the trip to the emergency room where everyone was deemed as being in good health and able to go home, Maribell returned with Aoife back to the club. She was worn out and exhausted but happy that her little girl was healthy. When they entered the club the members and  their ol’ ladies welcomed them back with open arms. Excitement permeated the air as the little bundle was shown off. 

“Now this is a nice change of pace.” Machine chuckled as he pulled Jess into his arms. 

“It is nice, isn’t it?” Jess whispered, smiling up at him over her shoulder.

“If only things could stay like this.” Machine sighed, kissing the top of her head. 

“We all have to do things that we don’t want to do. What’s on your mind?” She whispered.
