Daisy's POV

“You'll stay in here till you learn your lesson."

“Please let me out. I'm scared."

Nobody comes. Not even Aunt Kathy. I'm all alone again.

Mama left me and Papa doesn't love me anymore.

‘*Your mama didn't leave you. You killed her.*'

‘No. I didn't kill mama.’

I hate it. Whatever it is that is in my head. Aunt Kathy calls it Inner Voice but I call it The Devil.

‘*You did. You are a little killer.*’

‘I didn't kill Mama. I didn't kill mama.’

‘*You killed her.*’

Drip. Drip.

‘Stop it.’

‘Please stop. I didn't kill mama.’

********

My eyes snap open, accompanied by a painful throb on the side of my head.

My eyes dims slightly when the harsh rays of light streams into them.

They slowly adjust to the bright light and I become aware of my surroundings.

In front of me are two girls, one is a blonde and the other has brunette hair.

They look like they're still in their twenties.

The one in brunette hair is clutching her arms, and peeking at me anxiously from behind the one in blonde, who's taking up a protective stance.

Where the hell am I?

My heart is racing like crazy.

Who were those men from earlier and who the heck are these girls?

Before I could ask the girls the questions running through my mind,

The girl with the brunette hair, comes out from behind the one in blonde.

“Oh my God. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hit you.”

She hit me? That explains the sting on my left cheek.

“You were holding on to me so tight and I just wanted you to let go. I'm so sorry."

Her eyes are full of unshed tears and she's on the verge of tearing up.

The girl with the blonde hair widens her eyes and she quickly clasps the other girl's mouth shut.

Her gaze drifts to the door anxiously.

I open my mouth to comfort the brunette when the door bursts open.

A woman and two tall… no, huge men walk in. I recognize one of them.

He was in the SUV. He was the one who brought me here.

‘Who are you? Why did you bring me here?’ I want to ask, but when he locks eyes with me, all the hair in my body stands on end.

It's the same reaction from earlier.

I dart my gaze away from him quickly, and slide it to the woman who walked in.

“Which one of you spoke now?” The two girls were shivering as they stare at the woman.

Is she the boss around here?

The blonde girl steps forward, with her head bowed.

She's protecting the brunette girl.

But from what?

The woman's eyes narrow, she studies the brunette girl for a moment before her gaze drifts back to the blonde.

“Tsk. You don't get tired of doing this, do you?" The woman asks, directed to the blonde girl.

She doesn't say anything and just remains bowed. Now that I think about it, I haven't heard her say a word.

“Fine then." The woman says, before she glances back at the brunette.

“Your last warning girl. Now, hurry up with her. It's almost time. She's already dressed up, just touch up her makeup.”

I know I'm the her without the woman even glancing my way.

The woman signals to the men, who drags out the brunette girl and they walk out, leaving the brunette girl and I all alone.

Who are these people?

And where the fuck am I?

“Hey." I mouth but no words come out. I mouth again but again…no words.

Okay, what the hell?

I try to stand up but it's like I'm rooted to the floor, a wave of dizziness hitting me.

The brunette girl turns to me, tears brimming her eyelids.

I have no idea where I am but I'm pretty sure this is not a good place.

She wipes her tears and walks over to my side, crouching down besides me and drags out a backpack—it was beside me the whole time.

She brings out a box and opens it up, revealing the insides which is full with all sort of makeup.

The room is silent save for the sound of the make-up kit.

The brunette girl makes no attempt to talk to me again and I can only watch helplessly as she applies make-up on my face.

The girl wraps up, and start to pack up her kit.

I will my body to move or make any movement but nothing.

The girl stands up, her cheeks still stricken with tears and she stares at me.

I cast her a pleading gaze.

Just say something. Anything please.

I think she understands because she looks at the door for a second before she swoops down to my level, beside my ear.

“Stop trying to move your body. It won't work. They already gave you the drug and it will only wear out after your buyer has bought you.”

Her words sends my heart crashing down in my stomach as she confirms my suspicion.

I've been kidnapped.

My eyes stay glued to hers.

Was she and the blonde kidnapped like me too?

She's about to say more when the door opens up, and she quickly shift a strand of my hair behind my ear like she's styling me before she stands up.

I slide my gaze to the door and see that it's one of the man who came with the woman from before, not the man from the SUV.

He regards the brunette girl with suspicion.

“It's time. You may leave now."

The brunette doesn't wait any second before she rushes out of the room.

The man at the door heads towards me and I quickly cast my gaze down.

He crouches to my level and takes a strand of my hair in his hand, twisting them.

“Tch. It's a shame you are off limits" He grabs my chin, tilting my face up “I would have made you mine."

Bile rises up my throat at his disgusting words and I glare at him.

“Feisty. I like feisty. Such a shame.” He sighs, dropping my hair strands and his gaze lingers on my chest.

I shouldn't have chosen the dress with the low neckline.

I release a sigh of relief when he stands up from me, but he suddenly tugs on my arm, pulling me up.

I would have yelled if my mouth was working.

The drug was to only make us numb, but we could still feel pain.

He drags me by the arm, pulling me close to him as we head to the door.

“Close your eyes and do not open them."

I know I shouldn't dare a kidnapper but I hate being told what to do especially when it's from an absolute, disgusting stranger.

His grip on my arms tightens and he pulls my body into his chest.

“Don’t test me. Close Your Eyes Now!” Goosebumps forms on my skin and I clasp my eyes shut.

What was I thinking? He's a kidnapper for fuck’s sake and he wouldn't hesitate to end me.

“Good." I hear the door open up, and he drags me besides him.

My body sways with every steps he takes.

I try not to stumble but it feels like my limbs belongs to someone else.

I feel like I've walked for an eternity when I hear sounds.

Not just sounds…more like yells and cheers.

“Number 27?" I hear someone say, and it's not the man from besides me.

“Yes.” The man from besides me replies.

A hand tugs on my arms, and I get pulled off from the ‘disgusting’ man from the room.

The sound of cheering grows louder and my stomach doubles over.

I'm about to get sold.

“Now for our final treasure tonight. Number 27.”

My feet lands on a platform, and the person holding me drags me forward and releases me, letting me fall to the ground with a thud.

Gasps of surprises echoes in the room.

“You can see why we saved her for last.” The voice from earlier is now loud and closer, too close.

Cheers erupts in the room at his words.

The urge to throw up is increasing by the minute.

These people are monsters.

“Twenty Four. Unbroken. Fire in her eyes –just waiting for the right Master to tame her.” The person who I assume is the auctioneer pauses, and more cheers explode in the room.

What? I don't need any fucking master to tame me.

"But that's not all. I bet we are all curious why Number 27… is the crown jewel." Howls of yes echoes.

I perk my ears up too.

Why am I special?

Why did they kidnap me?

“Because this charming 24 year old beauty is untouched. A pure virgin.”

My heart hammers in my ribcage and my body stills.

How did they know I am a virgin?

“We have our starting point at ten million dollars.”

Ten million? Just like that?

“Twenty million.” A voice echoes from within the crowd.

“Thirty million.” Another voice resounds from the crowd.

The numbers keep climbing.

These people are tossing numbers around like it’s a game, but I’m the prize.

“Thirty-five million.”

“Fifty million.”

The crowd goes silent.

“Do I hear sixty?” The auctioneer besides me says.

Murmurs break out in the room, and I think I'm going to be going home with the one who offered fifty million.

“One hundred million dollars.” Gasps of surprises erupts in the room.

One hundred million?

I think I hear the auctioneer gasp too, before he pulls himself together.

"One hundred million dollars. Do we hear One hundred and ten?”

Silence.

"One hundred million dollars going once… twice… thrice. Sold to Mr. Vireli.”

I think it's the shock or curiosity that makes me open my eyes.

Something inside of me stills as I lock gaze with the masked man who's sitting in front, uniquely standing out from the others.

My buyer.

They said the Devil wears Prada.

No one warned me he’d show up in a mask… and pay a hundred million dollars to own me.

Reis's POV “When can we meet her?” I tilt my head, and raise my eyebrows, meeting Luca's gaze. Acting confused. Like I have zero idea about the person he's talking about. “Don't play dumb. The new girl you bought. La ragazza dei cento milioni.”(The hundred million girl.) A smirk tugs on my lips. “Why?” “Because you'd never buy a girl for that price, Reis. Even if it's to save her. “This one must be special.” This time it's Niccolo who speaks. His eyes narrow as he stares at me, trying to strip me bare to my thoughts. My smirk widens. And I shrug. A flash of irritation sweeps through Niccolo’s eyes, and he slumps back into the chair. I tap my fingers on the chair, answering Niccolo’s question in my head. She's not special. She's just like the others. Stupid. Foolish. Naive. Her small figure hiding behind the stairs last night pops up in my head. The undisguised fear in her eyes when she locked gazes with me. I can't explain the sudden thrill that rushed

Daisy's POV My heart pounds in my chest and adrenaline pumps into my system as I tiptoe down the stairs, careful not to make any sound. Every nerve in my body is screaming at me to return to the room, but I still tread forward in the almost dark staircase, using the light coming from the chandelier as a guide. The rails of the staircase are cold against my fingers. My gaze constantly flits to check behind my shoulders. To see if I'm being followed. If it's all a trap. If the reason there has been no sight of any guards since I left my room was to test me. Maybe seeing the letter too was a trap. Maybe I've been tricked by Maria and she did know about the letter. My legs pause mid step. I glance behind me again. Nobody. Then why does it feel like I'm being watched? I inhale and exhale, clenching my hands into fists. You can do this, Daisy. You've got this. I take a last step down the stairs, landing on the cushion rug. The light coming from the chandelier is no

DAISY'S POV It's been five days since I moved into this new prison.Every new strike on the wall serves as a reminder of the number of days spent in this s**thole.Even though the knot in my stomach gradually untangles with each passing night, because I haven't seen him again since that night. My masked buyer.I still jump at the sound of the door opening even though I know it's just Maria bringing me food or clothes.I still make sure the door is always locked before I go to sleep even when I know it's useless because if he wants to come in, he would.I know I can't get used to it. The paranoia that comes with not knowing what is going to happen the next minute. So I decided to stop dilly-dallying and proceed on my plan: Leaving this place.I uncurl the paper I found in one of the boxes after snooping the entire room, hopefully it contains useful information that can get me out of here.“I should have escaped when I had the chance to. I misused them…”My brows shoot up in confusion

  • The Devilish Mafia's Prized Possession    Chapter 6: Clue.

Reis's POV. In the Cosa Nostra, one thing you should never lose is your composure. Just one moment’s slip and your familia is holding your funeral. I have learnt and mastered it. The Art of Composure. Only today, I slipped. I went to the auction tonight to observe. Not buy. I already told Maria and V that there's no more girls coming in. But when I saw her squirming in the red dress, her cleavage annoyingly visible under the spotlight and Matteo Donovan was about to win the bid for her — something in me snapped and I cracked. “Quit staring at me, Keir. I couldn't let Donovan buy her, he's a psycho.” A white lie. Donovan doesn't only buy girls. He ruins them. Even though we were going to save all of the girls later anyway — something about Matteo going home with her, ruining her or even touching her just didn't sit right with me. Why? I have no fu***ing answer to that. Daisy Manchester. I slam her file on the desk. She's not even special. Just a

  • The Devilish Mafia's Prized Possession    Chapter 5: The Truth

Daisy's POV People often say — In life, you only get to make two choices: the right choice or the wrong choice. And I have to admit — That's a freaking lie. Because right now, I also have two choices. Either I sit peacefully and go with this masked man sitting beside me who just bought me for a hundred million dollars without batting an eyelid — well not technically because his face is hidden beneath that mask — to wherever he is heading, which can't be good. Or I quickly unlock the door and jump out from the moving vehicle — which would end up with my skull getting splattered on the road, or getting a bullet imprinted in my skull before I could even land on the ground. And neither of them is right. So I only sit, and watch as the driver speeds up the car, taking me farther away from home. From Brittany. And maybe even from Chicago. Heck… I don't even know what day it is. If it's still the day I was kidnapped or the next. The only thing I know is that it’s really
