Elena's POV

“I’m not scared of you.”

“No,” he says, voice softer now. “You’re scared of what this place will turn you into.”

He hops off the counter like he didn’t just tear through stitches, moving in close again, slow enough that I could back away but too deliberate to call it a threat.

“But you’ll adapt,” he murmurs. “Everyone does.”

“I’m not everyone,” I snap.

He smiles, this time with teeth. “No. You’re mine.”

The words settle in the room like smoke—thick, invasive, impossible to ignore.

I open my mouth to argue, to tell him exactly what the fuck he’s not entitled to, but he cuts me off by stepping even closer, crowding my space like he’s daring me to flinch.

“So,” I start, sharper than I intend, just to push back against whatever the hell that was. “What now? You keep me locked in this house until I start taking orders like one of your soldiers?”

He doesn’t blink. “Something like that.”

I fold my arms, ignoring the way his eyes drop just low enough to make it clear he notices everything. “This is illegal. You know that, right?”

He laughs once, the sound low and rough. “Sweetheart, I passed illegal a long fucking time ago.”

I narrow my eyes. “Then what do you even need me for? You’ve got a castle, an army, a full medical suite—what am I doing here?”

His grin comes slow and mean, like he’s been waiting for the question. “I’ve got a problem, and you’re the solution.”

“Lucky me,” I mutter.

He steps back, adjusting the waistband of his pants with one hand while the other stays loose at his side, all casual like we’re just chatting in some normal world that doesn’t have guns and blood and locked doors. “My visa expired. Years ago.”

I stare at him, thrown off. “You’re fucking with me.”

“Nope,” he says, popping the P like it’s nothing. “Feds are sniffing too close. Someone's leaking intel. If they dig deep enough, I vanish—or I burn everything I’ve built. Neither’s an option.”

“And this involves me how?” I ask, but I already feel the answer coming.

His eyes find mine, calm as ever. “You’re going to fix it.”

I take a slow step back. “No. You’re not serious.”

He doesn’t chase me, just keeps talking like we’re still on the same page. “You’re clean. American. You’ve got a legit job, no criminal record, no ties. You’re exactly what I need.”

“Dante—”

“We’re getting married, Elena.”

I blink. Hard. “The fuck we are.”

He tilts his head, completely unfazed. “You’re gonna smile. Sign what I give you. Play the sweet little wife until this shit blows over.”

I let out a short, humorless laugh. “You’ve lost your fucking mind.”

“No,” he says, stepping close again. “I’m not insane, I’m strategic. You walked into my world, patched me up, and kept your mouth shut. That makes you useful. And I don’t waste what’s useful.”

“I’m not your goddamn bride,” I snap, my voice rising.

He leans in, lowering his mouth to my ear like he’s delivering a threat wrapped in silk. “Forty-eight hours. That’s all you’ve got. Then I put a ring on your finger, and your name on my papers.”

I shove him back instinctively, but he doesn’t even stumble—he just smiles like he expected it.

“I’d rather rot,” I say.

He leans in again, close enough for his breath to graze my neck, hot and deliberate.

“Then rot in my bed, with my cock inside you, while everyone calls you Mrs. Volkov.”

I freeze.

His voice drops lower, rougher. “Or don’t. I don’t give a fuck if you like it. Just say ‘I do’ when the time comes, and keep your mouth shut the rest of the time.”

I swallow hard, but my throat’s dry. “You can’t force me.”

He finally pulls back, smirking. “You think I haven’t?”

He turns and walks to the door like the conversation’s over, dragging the last word behind him like a leash.

“Try to look happy.”

Elena's POV "Do you understand me, Doctor?”I nod slowly, the weight of it settling in my chest like concrete.“Good,” she says. “Then eat.” She walks out without another word. The door doesn’t lock this time but I don’t feel any freer. The suite is quiet again, too quiet. No hum of monitors, no movement outside the door, just that low static silence that makes it feel like I’m already being punished for breathing.I sit for another minute, trying to convince myself to eat. I don’t. Instead, I get up and head for the door, half-expecting it to be locked anyway. It isn’t.The hallway is just as cold. White walls, clean floors, no voices, no footsteps. Only the distant whir of cameras tracking movement—subtle, but I feel it.Curiosity’s louder than fear right now, and I’ve already made one bad decision today. What’s one more?I walk carefully, letting my fingertips skim the walls as I pass room after room. Most of the doors are sealed—heavy, reinforced, deadbolted from the outside. Whe

Elena's POV My chest tightens. For a second, I can’t breathe, like the air’s been sucked out of the alley. His tone isn’t angry or dramatic, it's it’s casual, like we’re discussing coffee orders instead of my life.I glance around, hoping someone else might intervene, but no one’s even looking at me. The men surrounding him are busy—cleaning up the scene, securing weapons, checking the bodies like they’ve done it a hundred times. No one questions him. No one asks what to do with me.I glance toward the alley mouth, where the faint sound of sirens is starting to carry on the wind.“There’s still time,” I say, barely able to hear myself. “You could leave me here. I won’t say anything.”His head tilts, just slightly, like he’s weighing that.“There’s an empty trunk,” he says, voice smooth, almost gentle now. “And three fresh graves already dug.”I freeze, but he doesn’t move. That’s when I know—he means every word.My knees weaken, but I force myself to stay standing even though the re

Elena's POV “Who are you?”He doesn’t answer. Of course he doesn’t. Instead, he presses his hand against the wound in his leg like it’s just an inconvenience, not the thing trying to kill him.“You’re still bleeding,” I say. “You need to stay still.”“I need to move,” he replies without looking at me. “More will come.”I shake my head, still trying to keep up with the pace of all this. “You should be unconscious. Or dead.”His eyes flick to mine. “I’m not,” he says simply. Before I can push back, the screech of tires cuts through the air. Another vehicle. Slower and controlled this time.He doesn’t even look surprised. “They found us,” I whisper. He pushes himself up, wincing just once before he straightens. “They found me,” he says, and this time, there’s steel in his voice. “You were just in the wrong place.”I stare at him while he adjusts the makeshift tourniquet on his leg and limps out of the shadows without hesitation, moving toward the next threat like it’s a meeting, not a f

  • The Doctor Wife: A Bratva possession    Chapter 1 – The Midnight Triage

Elena's POV My hands are shaking. Not because I’m scared—just completely drained. Sixteen straight hours of stitching people back together, giving bad news, pretending I’m not falling apart inside. I yank off my scrubs in the hospital parking lot, throw on a hoodie, and sink into my beat-up Honda like I might never get back out.“Please don’t die tonight,” I mutter as I turn the key.It sputters, coughs… then starts. Barely. The city’s quiet in that strange, almost eerie way it gets after midnight. Too still. My eyes burn from the strain, and everything goes a little hazy. I blink until the road sharpens again.Just five more minutes. Then I'll get a hot shower, maybe some vodka, and if I’m lucky—sleep that doesn’t feel like drowning. But then I see a black SUV on the shoulder. There's no headlights. The driver's door is wide open. The whole thing is riddled with bullet holes.No. Not tonight. Keep driving. Don’t stop. You’ve done enough. You don’t need this. And still—I’m pulling ov
