THE FIRST ATTEMPT

DOMINIC'S POV.

I leaned my back against the abandoned vehicle I sighted on this slumpy and deserted road. Sienna had moved in here and it felt too hidden for her personality.

The rain tapped against the windows and as if on rhythms, the street light went into darkness.

Good! They were smart.

We had hired workers to do just that. And they did just neat.

I took out a cigar and placed it just in between my fingers as I lit it before taking in a puff.

It burned between my fingers just like nevoursity clamped my mind and the ash of the cigarettes had spilled onto the jacket I wore.

My phone beeped. It was a message that read.

“Everything is set and perfect.“ I gave a smirk as it would be a reeling surprise — 'she would not even know what hit her.' I remarked as I stood by the vehicle and impatience was already taking a form in my chest.

Minutes later, I watched the road with much expectation and the kind of patience that made your stance as a predator almost falt

CLAIMED.SIENNA'S POVNight fell, another day to call work off and go home, just that today felt different. Was I feeling indifferent because of the change of surroundings? For no reason, my heart thumped loud to my ribs yet there was a place I called home now.If I hadn't gone to the company today, my father could have acted more reckless and caused me to lose even my presence at the company, especially now that I had to feed on the office's payroll.I sighed but it wasn't the end of the world. A queen would ignore every obstacle that showed up.My phone buzzed and I looked just over at it, and there a debit alert gazed at me, my chest tightened. It was usually not this way, I never felt it when a dine left my account but now that I was spending on my savings, it broke my heart. It broke my heart to replay the life fate had given me. It was just a world of power dynamics and control and since yesterday that I had broken to them that I stood alone made me feel renewed.I unlocked the

PLOTTING HER DEATH. DOMINIC'S POV. The coffee shop had brewed in my morning with the expected aroma and flavor flying through the air. I walked in glancing at my wristwatch, I needed to be done here on time. I looked around just from the entrance and there she sat. Focused, expecting. And how did I know? Her eyes had darted the whole place and head turned to all angles in search of no one else but me. From my view, I could see her tapping her feet against the tiled floor. She was nervous, I saw. And finally, her gaze landed on me once my shoes started to click against the floor, not just her but others looked over and majestically as always, I brushed off their stares off my body as I readjusted my tie and made my way beside her. “Dominic.“ She called once I stood just beside her. “First, no greetings plus I thought courtesy demanded you ask me to sit now that you called me here?“ I taunted, voice soft yet laced with every scorn I tried to communicate. “You are here now. I just

LUNGING THREATS. SIENNA'S POV“You cease being my daughter from this day.“ He roared, with gritted teeth as he could barely contain his rage. And that was just fun to watch. I would stand — still, firm and strong that no one gets to me, nor would I be moved by petty prices to make me stop. Why? Cause this was all about me. It was the story that got interesting day by day although directed by someone, it takes a different flow now. With one click of my back feet against the accelerator, I zoomed off to Harper's apartment. She had not been back from work but had the keys weighed and I felt guilty I would slow her progress of moving out of the residence later than she had planned but she tried to make me feel better by saying she was slowing the progress herself too. I pouted as I pressed the phone to my ear..“The keys are under the foot mat just by the door, momma.“ I groaned as we both said our byes to each other. I crouched down low just to pick out the keys and placed the foo

AN ESCAPE PLAN. SIENNA'S POV.The night felt cold and foreign even though I had been used to it. I could hear my heart beat even to my ribs that it felt like I was going to tear. My heart pounded in my chest as I hurriedly threw out my belongings from the wardrobe to a suitcase. Just clothes that I tossed into the bag without care, and at it, a picture frame fell onto the floor from the nightstand beside the bed with a shattering sound as the glass scattered over the floor but I didn't care. It was the wedding photo of me and the monster I got married to. I bit my lips as it felt like the photo breaking was a symbol my life was finally in shreds or rather.. every tie to this life here was breaking. My lips trembled as fury and fear swirled inside of me, yet I longed for freedom. I repeated to myself —I choose not to be caged anymore, not by my father or even Julian. No fvcking body. My knees buckled and so I sat a while by the edge of the bed looking all around at the walls th

AFTER THE KISS. SIENNA’S POVI walked away from him. Away from the men who always thought to pick and let me go at convenience. I still had not gone out of the shock my body felt as he slams his lips on mine but once he continues, the shock I had felt earlier that caused me to stiffen my body turned to disgust. I hated the fact he took me by surprise and not only that, the way he had seized control as if I was nothing but a mere possession that had less value. I hissed, I felt humiliated with the way he had gripped me by the wrist and dragged me out letting the people stare at me but I was not going to let them have the amusement that they stood by to watch while murmuring over their clinking glasses.I thought within myself — even though I was nothing but a mere possession, tonight I was going to play value on myself, I was not some cheap slutNow that I had walked away after venting my anger on him by sending him a slap across his face, I grumbled. How dare he? Who does that af

JULIAN'S POV. I sat with a drink in my hand for hours at the gala where the walls spoke of old money and desperation. It lingered as disguised in the air like a laughter. The chandeliers shined on just like the pretense that clouded every shining face at the occasion and the sound of glasses clinking onto each other felt like warning bells. For some reasons, I was yet to know the reason why my palm became sweaty. I sat as I swirled the whiskey I had in my glass and tasted the bitterness before it even touched my tongue.Tonight was not about business. It wasn’t even about charity. It was a war between other investors. And Sienna why was going to be here? Fighting for funds for their company. At the thought of her, he presence dawned on me and I froze immediately not knowing what to do like a kid who just saw Santa Claus and was motionless. Her expensive chocolate mist perfume filled the air that was once polluted with the stench of hard alcohol. Before I even saw her, I felt the sh

SIENNA'S POVI stood by one of the many tables that had wines and servings behind him and sat by it as I grabbed a glass of sweet juice in hand. Restless. I smirked as his eyes hovered on me constantly. “Hey beautiful.“ The voice came in, gentle until it revealed a bulky sized man. “Hey, Mr …?“ I said, trying to let the conversation flow. “Yes, that's my name, it means …” We spoke for quite some time as I was left giggling all through and pressing my palm unto my mouth to muffle my loud laughter amongst the crowd as some constantly looked over. But damn! This bulky guy's humor was everything. I chuckled, then dryly once I found Julian's gaze still resting on me. And then I leaned in towards 'the bulky guy's' neck — “Please play along,” I begged, he nodded as I let myself touch his arm lightly before resting my head on his neck. He went rigid. “Go on. Hug me, someone's watching please.“ He obeyed but my eyes never left Julian who shot daggers towards and with a smirk, I watched

THE DRUNKEN KISS. SIENNA'S POV “And it is just because the company is my future or maybe not? There are employees here whom I cherish. I choose to make life better for others.“ I said smiling — sly and proud of myself as I walked out of his office with a heart of fulfillment. I had said those words to his face and just that? .. That was a promise. Meant to be fulfilled. Changing pawn to a queen's dominance. And with that, I walked away from the office and as I headed out, the employees still gathered, their gazes pressed on me. The one that softened and the ones that glared but none of them matters. I was in charge now, or rather, I chose to be. I smiled as I walked back into the car and drove up taking in the nature and beauty of the grasses and flowers that laid beautifully on my way home. The drive was slow and I enjoyed every bit of it, slowly and slowly the serenity of the road washed in my eyes — and I was home. I had arrived home, peace washed over me and it was all t
