The Dormmates Who Ostracized Me Died

I went back to the police station, and I moved around it with familiar ease, like I was in my own house. I slumped down against the interrogation chair and asked Captain Zimmer cheerily, “What am I having for lunch today? Takeout again?”Captain Zimmer was a level-headed person. He did not even look at me as he continued preparing the interrogation. Meanwhile, Watson Xanders—Captain Zimmer’s partner—glared at me sternly and slammed his hands on the table. “Watch your tone, Mindy Fawkes! Why would we arrest you without proof? Just tell us. Why did you kill them?”I shrugged. “And who did I kill?”“Your dormmates! They were about to transfer to universities from the community college, but you ruined their futures!”“That’s such a huge pity! I find it regrettable that those three good girls died, but why would I kill them?”“Because you—”“Ahem.” Captain Zimmer interrupted Watson by clearing his throat. What a pity. I did not manage to fish out what they thought was my murder

I was sent to the police station three years ago, and I was the one beaten up to the point that I was bleeding from my head. I also happened to be the only student among the two groups of gangsters. After he took my testimony, Captain Zimmer stared at my record and frowned. “Why are you mingling with these people instead of studying? Stay away from them.”Then, Captain Zimmer called my mother, since it was listed in my record, and asked her to pick me up. My mother was busy playing cards and snapped, “I no longer have anything to do with her.”She was right. My father had full custody of me. When my father died, he left behind a whole mountain of debt from gambling; however, my life without him still became better. At the very least, I did not need to get hit anymore.I begged my relatives to lend me some money, and I finally got a chance to continue going to school. Everyone told me that I could only change my fate by studying, but with my ability, I could only get into

“I’ll tell you what it really means to be a horrible person. “I know of a person called Lana Lane. She’s only two years older than I am, but just like me, she started living the same kind of rough life as I did at a young age. “Guess how much she makes a month? More than twenty thousand dollars! Not only did she sell her body, but she also set up honey traps and scammed people. “You know this. You handled her case yourself! Meanwhile, I don’t even have one hundred dollars in my savings account. I got hit, and I don’t have any money to get my wounds treated. Do you think I’m like Lana?”Captain Zimmer scoffed impatiently and did not answer, but Watson shouted angrily, “Mindy, what you need to do is confess to your crimes right now, not talk about these useless things!“How much you earn won’t change the fact that you committed murder! “We’ve already investigated you a long time ago. You sold your body too and did honey traps. The only difference between you and Lana Lane is th

After I told them these things, Watson fell silent, and Captain Zimmer teared up. “Mindy, are you telling the truth or lying? If Samantha and the other girls are indeed accomplices, you could have told me and asked for my help. Why did you choose to kill them and ruin the rest of your life?”Help? How was Captain Zimmer supposed to help me? Even if he threw all of them in jail, it did not matter. My life was ruined, and as long as Luther and the others were still alive, they were not going to spare me and were going to take revenge on me in even more brutal ways. I could only run away, but I could not accept fleeing just like that. That was why I had to make them pay before I escaped. I wanted them dead!Unfortunately, they died, and I was not the one who had killed them. At that point, I got so emotional that I trembled, and my heart burned with hate. “In order to find a chance to kill them, I gritted my teeth and worked with them. I endured this hellish life for a year! So,

“Mark Jones. You know him, don’t you? He once was a thug working under Luther too, but he suddenly went missing, and that’s around the time Luther stopped forcing you to earn money for him—”I could not listen anymore and shook my head rapidly. “Stop! Please stop talking! I’ll confess, alright?”But Captain Zimmer ignored my pleas and continued, “At the same time Mark disappeared, Luther’s driver went missing too. Luther has already admitted that Mark killed his driver. “Before he fled, Mark threatened Luther and told him to let you go, or he would kill Luther. He did stop forcing you to work because of the threat. “So, Mark must care about you a lot, right? He has been keeping in contact with you. After learning that you were going to kill Samantha and the other two, he was worried that you’d ruin the rest of your life with blood on your hands, so he poisoned them. “You’re not the murderer, alright. We’ve got a new clue that shows that the murderer poisoned them in the library
