That same night, Catori laid on her bed with her stomach grumbling but yet she refused to get up and get food.

Catori refused to eat anything that her mother had prepared; she didn't even feel like staying in the house anymore, but simply because she had nowhere else to go. Catori will continue to succumb to the treatment of her mother and the nonchalantness of her father.

Catori sat up in her bed to read some more of her book, but her door being pushed open made her pause.
